James Gang - Ashes The Rain And I Lyrics
Sometimes I sit and I stare at the rain
Isn't rain filled with sorrow?
Wonder if I'll see my home again
Will it be dry tomorrow?
Time passes softly and I'm a day older
Ashes to ashes, the rain's turning colder
Finding tomorrow, the ashes, the rain and I

Train is what it is. Treason against humanity.
Another golden discovery during the beginning of my age of enlightenment in 1970. What a great time of transition and beautiful song
like this "Silver Tightrope" by Armageddon (UK 1975)
For Fatboy Slim to take a smash hit from a very obscure part of this song is brilliant.
well, I came here because of Supernatural, found Fat Boy Slim and I'm leaving with the James Gang - result!
BTW if any of the SPNFamily pass this way you now know the answer to s10e12 Q1 ;) @LightBulbQuiz

From OHIO, Joe Walsh & THE JAMES GANG!
Played this off THE JAMES GANG RIDES in 1970. Former Hitbound from Joe Walsh & Company Still love this Haunting song!
I just loop the 3:33 - 3:41 part and sit there in silence to enjoy it.
Fuck fat boy slim. Fuck supernatural. HAIL KING JAMES. ❌
right here....right now...
this song speaks to me on a level no other song has.. it got recommended to me on youtube but it feels like this song crosses generations and years. It pulls on my heartstrings in a way that’s impossible to describe. Such a good yet heartwrenching song
a KING PLAYER
A great song. It doesn't matter how you got here, just that you are. I came from a brilliant song by FatBoy Slim.
Amazing music and thanks to Supernatural!!! Boy...tell you if you close your eyes and hear this song u will feel the rain from your eyes!!! Awesome 😎
Another song from “THE GREATEST MUSIC DAYS THERE WILL EVER BE!” My God this is awesome, all Joe Walsh and James Gang is. Back in the GREAT old days I saw their concerts so many times -but never enough, there could never be enough.
Don’t have the faintest idea what supernatural is and don’t care- I LOVE this song! Another one from the great old days, I saw James Gang four times and they were ALWAYS awesome!!! Man music since those days has done nothing but suck.
Fuckin A Mon....heartfelt...
Celli r incredible...HOOAHH!!!
I have a theory. We can squirm a bit, but...:D I say, any album made between 1968 and 1971 is a good album...no matter who it is..,[and that's the way it was in 1972[ and some inscrutable entity stepped to the fore and explained how it was in those days. Any music made between these dates is golden. It's immutable, nuff said.
Young Gunz
This song is beautiful. I think James Gang Rides Again is one of the most underrated albums of all time. A great album I bought in 1969 and all of the songs still hold up today. A GREAT ALBUM, thanks Joe and the gang.
Supernatural gang
I rode with the gang in 70
It's funny how all of my fav songs are from supernatural, I think alot of people here it is the other way around. They find great songs from supernatural. I'm 18 and listen to alot of vintage 70s I'm glad people like what I like coz of the show :)
If you want tips on simialr songs not in the show be free to message :)
Remember Jenny !
MOM & Jenny Rodriguez !
Sent here by a night time dive video into a graveyard submerged by dam construction 40 years ago in South carolina..... What's supernatural? Lol
And don't forget kid cudi s memories
What, 29 people have their phones upside down?
I loved this song back in the day... one of those perfect songs that gets lost in all the noise
Um dos bons motivos de assistir série supernatural. Só tem boas músicas.
I wish I was in supernatural, so I could escape this crappy reality in which I exist.
Who else is here because of supernatural season 10?
Thanks to Fatboy Slim for introducing me to James Gang.
RIGHT HERE! RIGHT NOW! RIGHT HERE! RIGHT NOW!
It's amazing that FBS saw the beginning and end of his ramp up in that one sample, adding a low pass filter on it and mixing it into divinity
and the rest of the song is great too XD
Fat boy slim
the music is not bad but the voice is so crappy. I can howl like that too
this will be my epitaph !
its a long way back to where I first heard this and all the music that was along side it . I am 60 now and miss the fresh and optimistic America from 1965 up till 1975 .
This doesn't sound like a fifty years old song. o.O
Pure magic!
Could music be more beautiful?
Peaceful
Cassiqué!!!
*SUPERNATURAL*
written at Kent state University!
If Supernatural brought you here, listen to the entire album James Gang Rides Again. Seminal, classic rock.
Yer album is better IMO
The @4:09 melody shows up in the intro to deadmau5's new orchestral version of coelacanth on his new "where's the drop?" album. I always loved that melody.
Supernatural blows. Fanboys suck. Rock and Roll rules.
I was perhaps 10yrs. old and joined Columbia Record club> I fell for this song due to its' soft nature.I played the hell out The Gang.
I'm not here because I like boring shows like Supernatural. I'm only here because I like good music created by awesome bands.
I bought "Rides Again" simply as a fan of Funk no. 49 and was blown away at what I found on the album nobody ever talks about. The first time I heard this song, I was cooking food and this track hit me like a ton of bricks. I just kept putting the needle arm back at the beginnng and sat listening over and over. It made me cry it was so haunting and beautiful. I love this album and find it so sad that its clearly become lost to time except in the most educated circles of music lovers. Ride on boys, ride on.
Fat Boy Slim? Supernatural? If they brought you here, hopefully it inspired you to look deeper into the musical genius of Joe Walsh.
OMG! Finally! that's It!
This is pretty cool on 2X.
I came here on my own becaus I dig music.
Fucking awesomeness plain and simple.
. this is one of my all time faves by the James Gang and seems even more pertinent now as I approach 70 and my end here on this Planet..... at least many fond memories of many years gone past. I saw the James Gang play maybe 80 times off campus at Kent State univ. as well as on campus 67 - 70 ..
RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW
All these Supernatural fan comments below!!! Niiice.
Americas answer to Jimmy Page, Why he joined the Eagles still Baffles me, He explained why and said he just wants to play Guitar, but ......This is one of my fav albums, youngest of 5 i was listening to this since the second Grade.....Glad your a Friend of Bill ,,,Joe
Here's to Supernatural fans, ruining comment sections since 2005.
dont blame me ....i was not born yet.....lol
Thanks Joe Walsh. Still and forever underrated.
Supernatural ❤
Right here, right now by Fatboy Slim sent me here.
I can't believe that it took Supernatural to lead me to this song. Either way, I'm grateful, because it's amazing.
Nobody sent me here, I was already here and it was 1970 !!
My finger got me here. 👇🏼
masterpiece
Fatboy Slim sampled this.
That main screenshot/album cover shot/image looks like something straight out of the later part of "Apocalypse Now" when Martin Sheen was going through what he did. Am I correct?
supernatural is forcing me to hear this song.. ohh dean!!
I came here because of this song only
Arranged by Jack Nitzsche. Them strings...
Am i the only one who came here because whole album is good as hell?
supernatural s10:E12- About a Boy
the girl in the photo... is that Annie? -AoT
The fact that supernatural is everywhere
right here, right now
Who is here NOT because of Supernatural?
Me, I don't even know what that is, hahaha. I was a teenager when this came out, so I am here for this, and next Tend your Garden.
This song so much to me at 14. In those innocent sweet early 70's I was in love with a 14 year old beautiful girl but we lived too far away from each other but eventually we got together briefly . Dreams come true
I was lucky enough to have a dad with amazing tastes in music. That is what brought me here --- Instead of complaining about all the Supernatural posts, I going to ask that you try some other James Gang music. The song 'Collage' is a really great one too if you like this song-
Same, I think that's their best song too. Followed by Fred.
The boys are good...I kept in my heart forty years..........sometimes you have tyo let them out
Was sitting in the back of a U-haul truck in the rain at 14. This will haunt me forever. But that's what I like about Joe.
Some of us were fortunate enough to grow up with this fantastic music, Supernatural just knocked the dust off for some of us.
increible
Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z. . . . . . . . . . .
Fatboy Slim turned that 3:35 part into a masterpiece
It was ALREADY a master piece
@Brian Biehn Exactly! The whole progression to this song is amazing. It's a very intense and amazing climax too. I want to hear Phish play this live, but they don't have violins :(
Gorgeous stuff!
what a beautiful haunting song
vim aqui pelo supernatural
The beginning of this sounds like the music before Aerith's death in Final Fantasy 7.
Thanks Supernatural for making me love this kind of music
episode 12 season 10 SUPERNATURAL
I'm lonely. Where are you?
LOL! Bought the album - in 1970.
Wow, what a tumultuous time in my life. Dad home from 'Nam, Mom no longer interested and a lot for a 15 year old kid to deal with.
Thgank you Joe and the boys...
oh yea. remember it well.
Yes.....thganks all around.
Are any of James Gang's other songs like this? I was hoping for more orchestral stuff, but what I've found so far is purely classic rock, which is cool, but this song is by far my favourite.
Check out "Pavane of the Sleeping Beauty" on Joe Walsh's album "So What". It's Joe's arrangement of the piece by Maurice Ravel.
You can also catch bit of Ravel's "Bolero" about 3:30 into The James Gang's song "The Bomber"
i came here for an awesome song and not because of supernatural or fatboy slim
