The actual imagery is from his room. You can see little guitars and his computer screen among other things. I only noticed after the tenth time watching this.

I am a musician... and I know what he is telling, teaching.. preaching....but Life is not about chord progression, voicing... upper chord structure against lower chord and root notes etc. Music is about life and 'story telling' and Jacob has a story... about explaining harmony... etc.. has a story about his life and exceptional talents ... but .... the mono melodic Gregorian with the reflections.... (he surely can tell us everything about upper tones, harmonics etc.. physics... in a church ) and Bach Handel Chopin etc. and even Freddy Mercury etc.. SO... In case of explaining us how physics work and let us be humble about are own knowledge of that, try to be really original and creative in the sense that you can contribute something less analytic and more human... more Jacob... but You are very talented and you worked an study very hard... chapeau... by the way... I am not interested why I cry listening to Jaques Brell... I don't want to know... By knowing the cause I think I will lose the ability to cry... Stevie must be sooo honored!!! This is my favorite song of all time (I'm 60 yrs. old) since Stevie Wonder, no one has been able to do this song justice, but this young genius has truly put his stamp on it!!!

Been a fan for about a year now, but I never said my piece on this. The first time I heard this song I had put it on in the background(As if it's possible to have this on and not have it take up your full attention) and I was just messing around on my phone. Suddenly about 2/3rds of the way through the song I just abruptly and immediately started crying. Couldn't understand why at first, then I realized it was the song. I was moved subconsciously without even giving the song my full attention. Absolutely incredible piece of music.

This music says nothing to me. It's empty, meaningless. It doesn't make me feel anything at all.

The lesson to be learned here is that complex harmony will not stop your song from sounding incredibly generic. Here it just amplifies the cheesy/pretentious vibe from the vocals that are trying really hard to convince me that there is emotion when there isn't. Actually I do feel something after all: I feel like this song is lying to me. I don't know about what tho since it's mute.
