I was in prison and I never felt so free in my life as I came to know Christ behind the walls of a maximum security facility and I felt truly free and helped to bring other brothers to come to know my friend Jesus Christ our lord listening to this song reminds us of our blessings

Please pray that my granddaughter comes to live with me very, very, soon! She is SO miserable living with her hateful stepmother that she felt mutilating her body with a razor blade was her only way of dealing with the emotional pain. My son (her father) is a lackadaisical parent. SOOOO much more to this story! Her biological Mother committed suicide when my granddaughter was 7 yrs. old. My home is THE only place where she can just be herself and stress free. I love her and want to protect her. In Jesus' name. Amen.

My Mother passed away July 19, 2019. This was one of the songs she had written on the back of an envelope to be sang at her funeral along with, When the roll is called up yonder. I had just purchased Alan's gospel dvd that he did for his Mother for my Mother to watch but she never got too. I miss her, but at least she is not suffering any more. Thank you Alan.

I can't wait to be with our Holy Savior Jesus Christ! I can not wait for his Glorious Appearing and to take the church out of this sinful world! Your mother is with the Lord and we should rejoice. But I am sorry for your loss. Keep God close and all will be great!!

I know he lives after seeing him with my own two eyes during a prayer one night. When Jesus of Nazareth said he is in the midst of people in his name , he means it . John 3 :16. Ps : beautiful song alan.

I can tell you that as I prayed for my dad on the evening that he called to tell me that he was just diagnosed with prostate cancer, I said the words that anyone would tell the Lord, " please heal my dad". I happened to be on my deck after midnight when after saying those words a few times, I didn't know what else to say so I kept repeating John 3:16 over and over and over for what seemed like an hour. That's when I heard a noise coming out from the woods and bushes that boarders our yard. I looked in the direction expecting to see a deer or something like that but there he was ,on the hillside walking down towards the creek. He was beautiful. He was illuminated about 10 to 12 feet tall and in the shape of a person. He was brightly illuminated but you could barely see the physical form of his body , his arms and legs. When he got to the bottom of the hillside , he reached the creek. As soon as he got there he took off like a steak of lightning downstream. I couldn't believe what happened that night. There is no excuse for me not to follow him and do his will. I truly believe he showed himself to me because I kept repeating John 3:16. It's been over 20 years now since this happened and my dad is still with us. That is why John 3:16 is so special to me. Jesus is beautiful. I have seen him with my own two eyes and have put my hand on the bible to testify the truth for he is the truth. He is on the earth like he said. Where 2 or 3 are gathered in his name he is there in the midst. Lord bless you.

This song is just the best!

This was the perennial Easter song in my church as a "yute".

Growing up in the seventh day Adventist church we sang this quite often. And I always wondered was there a country version of this hymn out there. Sure enough there is. Sang perfectly by my favorite male singer. Alan Jackson.

I heard this Hymn at the garden tomb in Jerusalem in 1994 just as I got up to go inside !

I have more to say about that hymn because when I was 18 seeking the face of the Lord wanting a born again experience I had went to San Diego California to talk to my dad about the Lord . He was not in the golden west hotel when I inquired so I went to the plaza where there was a big water fountain standing around wondering what to do and a young Christian man walked up to me and asked if I knew Jesus , I said to him I didn't then he asked if I wanted to and I said yes .so he invited me to a bible study and I went with him then after wards I was asked if I would say the sinners prayer so they led me in prayer but I still wasn't satisfied. I was then invited to Church Sunday the following day .it was a bright sunny day and I went inside and sat down as people begin coming in . The service was opened up with the hymn "HE LIVES " it was so beautiful as every body began to sing and so blessed my heart . The preacher preached about the women that had committed adultry and Jesus forgave her . The end of service an altar call was given and as they waited for ones to respond my heart was pumping fast and I knew I should go up front and as I knelt at
the Altar the elders prayed with me , and as I got up afterwards and walked outside 🌞I knew I was born again filled with such a peace that passes all understanding . So that hymn has always been special to me . That was in 1971 . My first of five trips to Israel was in 1994 and at the first visit to the garden tomb geting ready to go in a church tour group begin singing 🎵 that hymn . Now you know the rest of the story !
