Definitely a beautiful classic Jackie Evancho song. It should have won a Grammy for James Breedwell! And also one for Jackie. A true musical masterpiece!

The very first song ever written exclusively for Jackie Evancho to sing! No other artist is allowed to sing or record it! This is from the author himself, James Breedwell! Still millions have not yet heard this beautiful song. I would love to see Jackie re-record this song. Makes me weep every time I hear it. The girl mentioned in the song, Kimberly was a very young girl who passed away and her father asked James Breedwell to write a song for her to help console him through his grief. Mr. Breedwell was happy to do so even though he didn't know the father personally. What a beautiful testament to a father's love for his child!

The best single performance is a tough word to use with Jackie, since she has produced at least 20 different videos that many would consider to be the best ever. And any of those Jackie bests, would alone make many other singers careers. Now I just label any one as one of the best. I agree the video you cite is one of her best.

I loved her singing with Rachel by her side singing this song and "She Knew". It was gorgeous:)

She has a beautiful voice but I wish this rendition had her voice prominent rather than the music that should have been backing her up.  Does anyone have a copy of this that makes her voice more in the forefront?

music to loud and heavy sound not good at all .Cannot understand the words. I spend 2 hours each evening listening to  Jackie's repertoire I adore her .So this is not an empty critique. My favourite is' Ombra mai fu' in japan  perfection absolute..

I pipe my computer sound output through a decent amplifier and speakers and have to say that although the music does dominate rather, every word is clear- this from someone who doesn't pay attention to the lyrics, rather the shape and sound of the words, i.e. voice as an instrument -and there is none better than Jackie in that respect.

Wow, thanks so much for posting this video - as you know the Prelude to a Dream album was pulled and many of us have not heard this song from Jackie before, its just wonderful. I had herd Starry Starry night, which Jackie sand a a Fair in Washington State - I love it too. Thanks ~ J

Calling this little songbird beautiful has gotten a bit redundant but most assuredly she is the most angelic creature I've seen in my 62 years of life!

by my and my twin birthday I was making choice this music from a little angel.

Jackie has one the most unique voice patterns I've ever heard. Like a Sinatra or Elvis. As soon as they start singing you know who's voice it is.

Jackie was only 9 here, before her voice went to its full greatness on AGT, and then even better in the concert with Foster. But even here, you instantly know it is her. Now, 8 yrs later, you can still recognize her voice instantly.

I like to dedicate this beautiful song in memory of those 20 young angels taken tragically at Sandy Hook Elementary.

I sang this for my little cousin who's brother who passed away from cancer.. she asked where he was and i changed the song a bit...(she knows jackie sang it)

Thank you Mr. B. It's a very poignant song. :( I don't know whether Jackie will ever sing it again. To my knowledge she has not sung it since she recorded it for PTAD.

Hi dieseldog, just breaking into the conversation to say that Kimberley, the little girl who died, was not a part of the Breedwell family. I believe someone asked James to write this song to help him come to terms with the child's death. That's what he meant when he replied to you.

Forgive me sir but I don't understand your statement "but it was not any part of the Breedwell family".

That info was confirmed by Mike Evancho more than a year ago; all harmony voices on PTAD are Jackie on additional tracks.

Interesting effect here; Jackie taking the "David Crosby" role and singing "high harmony" for herself via multi-tracking.
Jackie also sang "high harmony" with incredible skill behind brother Jacob on "Let it Be" during the concert at Indio.
Maybe someday Jackie will re-record it, possibly with Rachel doing the high harmony.

You wrote a great song, and nobody could have sung it better than Jackie. She was only 9 here, and it is still incredible.

I haven't listened to this song in a long long time because it makes me cry as I know the backstory of how it came to be and why Jackie is singing it. RIP Kimberly Breedwell. :( :(
