Song is a masterpiece. Talking about how much he loves her, that he will look past everything that makes him worry and confused because when she is at her peak, she is everything and she is love and what he needs. They’re more interpretations of the song but that’s what it means to me. How some moments seem bleak, and how sometimes things can be painful but when that other person shows affection/love it puts everything in perspective.

I knew since the first time I heard this song when Aaligah sang it this was an Isley's song because she always gave them a shout out & said how much she loves them & that's why this is her favorite song on her first album. The first version I heard was her's since I'm in her era but because she always talked about the Isley's I heard their version to & loved it, very relaxing kind of song, all versions of it! I even saw the Isley's sing this song live in concert & it really was so beautiful hearing it live!

Covers are often tributes to the original artists. To shed light and point back to the OGs. It is a compliment more than "trying to make it better". Those covering originals are usually giving the younger generation and new listeners an insight of what and who inspired their music. Nothing more, nothing less.
