Isakov, Gregory Alan - One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong Lyrics
I lit a thin green candle to make you jelous of me
The room filled up with mesquitos
They heard that my body was free
And I took the dust of a long sleepless night
And then I confess that I tortured the dress
That you wore for the world to look through
And I showed my heart to the doctor
He said, ‘you just have to quit’
Then he wrote himself a perscription
And your name was mentioned in it
Then he locked himself in a library shelf
With the details of our honeymoon
And his practice is all in a ruin
I once knew a saint who had loved you
I studied all night in his school
He taught that the duty of lovers
Was to tarnish the golden rule
And just when I was sure that his teachings were pure
He drowned himself in the pool
His body is gone, but out here on the lawn
His spirit continues to drool
An eskimo showed me a movie
He’d recently taken of you
The poor man could hardly stop shivering
His lips and his fingers were blue
I suppose that he froze when the wind took your clothes
And I guess he just never got warm
But you stand there so nice, in your blizzard of ice

Great music!
i love this song! it's so peaceful... inspiring... i listen to it over and over again. the words are a bit strange, but it's so beautiful.
That's poetry. Leonard Cohen (he wrote this song) was a poet before he made music

THIS SUCKS LITTLE PUSSY INDIE SOULESS SUCKERS
LEONARD COHEN IS ASHAMED
You can't compete with Cohen! Even his son can't!
This is so beautiful. So fucking beautiful. No tears no sadness just a peaceful mouth opened awe at the beauty and Talent that is Gregory Alan Isakov's music
Dibnt even no this was a l cohen song, and ive heard many since the late 60,s it never sunk in but this version has, luv it, shame they never did a duet ! easy to missplace one of leonards songs he had so dam many great ones !
If this is not the most poetic burn I've ever heard...
my woman loves this guy. she is always so mopey.
I love his but I adore the LC version as I believe it is more troubling.
Stunning version, although I prefer the original.

Alex Delarge this isn’t an original by Gregory , this is a cover. Don’t want to sound like a dick just fyi
Written by Leonard Cohen
@Boa Cow What makes you sound like a dick isn't that you pointed that out---it's that the author of the video pointed it out above. Congratulations. You sound like a dick. FYI.
This is OK but I find it too melancholic. LC's genius is his position to the irony of how cruel life can be and embracing the dread as part of life and love. LC's version does not give in to the melancholic but observes it as an equidistant experience -
Mais te voilà si belle dans ton blizzard de gel, o laisse moi entrer dans la tourmente.
How beautiful...
A worthy tribute to one of the all time greats. RIP LC.
Salman Kamil zio è ancora vivo leonard cohen
love this cover! better than the original
Beautiful! But there's still something more real about Cohen's version though.
he is the writer. No need to compare.
The day I found out Cohen died: someone came and found me at a local supermarket car park...like they knew and anticipated that they would see me there...
First time I noticed his similarity with Bright Eyes Conor Oberst. Thoughts?
Tyson Arden Wow. I see it. Oberst used to be my favourite artist, I can see why I like this one so much.
Yeah,I can hear that
Outstanding!
Who is the woman accompanying him?
@cme0848 her name is Brandi Carlile. shes pretty much on the entire northen hemisphere album.
great artist aswell
+Brian Christie Saw her live when she opened for Ray Lamontagne a few years back; she was better than he was.
Because like two songbirds it works.
It used to be your lullaby ....I miss you like hell.
The most beautiful song ever written! Beautiful version xx
As expected I cannot forget you. I will certainly love you forever and everytime I remember this song.. Especially on your birthday. You are the best thing that ever happened. I miss you so much
