Isaac Hayes - Man's Temptation Lyrics

Genius song Animal Planet brought me to this classic song of Isaac Hayes.

Great version of Gene Chandler`s hit from the 70`s.

As a man that has owned this double LP twice in life; back in the early 90’s on cassette while in my very early 20’s & again on CD and i’m In my late 40’s now, I must say that over all the years I’ve known of the album & it’s songs, I never felt the emotion or message brother Ike laid out as much as I do now, reason being is that I am precisely in the position that he speaks of in both this song, “Man’s Temptation” & “One Woman” from his 1969 debut album “Hot Buttered Soul”. Definitely food for the soul of the man who’s “caught up” in the tangled web of love, betrayal & decisions that comes with being in love with two women and being forced to make a decision between them. Word to the wise: It may be fun while it lasts, but once the woman at home finds out OR the outside woman gets tired of warming the bench, the consequences are VERY heavy, especially if feelings have inevitably become involved. Choose wisely because you likely will have to make a choice and SOMEONE IS going to be hurt in the end....the outside woman, the woman at home, yourself or worst of all, EVERYONE! This is where I am now! Thank God for Isaac Hayes and these two songs.....it has helped me through sooooo much of the pain.

Hey brother this is something that i have never done as far as commenting on an open forem but here i am on the outside looking in and finding myself there... who would of thought ...But thats the way Love is ..it reminds me of an old song we use to sing ..Some bodys got to win and Somebodys got to loosee its just a game we play for fools..and when you are on the outside looking in ..That's the way Love is..😅😅😅😅😅

This is nice....The cover by Al Kooper and Mike Bloomfield off the Supersession album is hard to beat however!!

My favorite cover of the Curtis Mayfield/Impressions song. I really loved the arrangement of the background vocals by Pat Lewis. Note the subject matter. It expresses the same sentiments of "One Woman" from his first album "Hot Buttered Soul."

Best version of this Mayfield original...and there's plenty of good ones.

Just checked out about five different covers of this, and this version, the first I heard AGES ago, still holds up as arguably the best.
