I did a double take when I saw "one week ago" for the post date while scrolling through.

Iron & Wine and Ray Lamontagne have both picked up activity after years and I just feel so blessed <3

Sam seems to have this gift of reinventing himself and his music just enough to be new yet also sound familiar. beautiful. and different, yet also the same.

Much respect to sam beam and his growth as a musician, but I honestly miss the simple tape recording sound and acoustic harmonizing of his endless numbered days album

I agree. The only artist I can mention in comparison is Elliott Smith. One tragic, one not, but they approach the same emotional state in their songs. It's lovely...

I hear what your saying, and I honor your opinion. I just don't get your timing. After hearing the direction he took with Shepard's Dog, Kiss Each Other Clean, Ghost on Ghost, etc this album seems to be a return to the earlier days. I just don't get why you would say this after hearing this new album. I would think people with your sentiment would hear this album and would miss the earlier days less. For the record - I love all the cool, funky directions he has taken and I miss nothing. It's still all there in my library and there are so many sides to his music for me to appreciate. I can't wait to see him later this month!!

At least he hasn’t changed as much as Dallas Green did... I can understand where you’re coming from but there’s still so much originality in his musical efforts. Not to mention his lyrics will always be unique. Not to argue of course

More songs like boy and the coin and jezebel

Jezebel is outstanding, but I meant the genuine one-man-band Iron & Wine and Sam’s recordings from the beginning of his career, when songs were mostly acoustic/lo-fi orientated. I’ve seen Sam live once and clearly the band is a distraction he can manage without.

Not sure I love this but can't wait for another album!
