Iron Maiden - Starblind Lyrics
Take my eyes the things I've seen in this world coming to an end
My reflection fades, I'm weary of these earthly bones and skin
You may pass through me and leave no trace, I have no mortal face
Solar winds are whispering, you may hear me call
We will dance among the world that orbit stars that aren't our sun
All the oxygen that trapped us in a carbon spider's web
Solar winds are whispering, you may hear the sirens of the dead
Left the elders to their parley meant to satisfy our lust
Leaving Damocles still hanging over all their promised trust
Walk away from freedoms offered by their jailers in their cage
Step into the light startripping over mortals in their rage
Starblind - with sun
We are the light that brings the end of night
Starblind - with sun
The stars are one
We are, with the Goddess of the sun tonight
The preacher loses face with Christ
Religion's cruel device is gone
Empty flesh and hallow bones
Make pacts of love but die alone
The crucible of pain will forge
The blanks of sin, begin again
You are free to choose a life to live
Or one that's left to lose
Virgins in the teeth of God are meat and drink to feed the damned
You may pass through me and I will feel the life that you live less
Step into my light startripping, we will rage against the night
Walk away from comfort offered by your citizens of death
Starblind - with sun
The stars are one
We are the light that brings the end of night
Starblind - with sun
The stars are one
We're one with the goddess of the sun tonight
Take my eyes for what I've seen
I will give my sight to you
You are free to choose whatever
Life to live or life to lose
Whatever God, you know
He knows you, better than you believe
In your once and future grave
You'll fall endlessly deceived
Look into our face reflected in the moon glow in your eyes
Remember you can choose to look but not to see and waste your hours
You believe you have the time but I tell you your time is short
See your past and future all the same and it cannot be bought
Starblind - with sun
The stars are one
We are the light that brings the end of night
Starblind - with sun
The stars are one
We're one with the Goddess of the sun tonight
Take my eyes for what I've seen
I will give my sight to you
You are free to choose whatever
Life to live or life to lose
Whatever God you know
He knows you better than you believe
In your once and future grave
You'll fall endlessly deceived
The preacher loses face with Christ
Religion's cruel device is gone
Empty flesh and hollow bones
Make pacts of love but die alone
The crucible of pain will forge
The blanks of sin, begin again
You are free to choose a life to live
Or one that's left to lose

Iron Maiden Starblind Comments
Starblind is a masterpiece
5:04 ......💫
Just wow!! This song was clearly amazing when they released this album. It is still one of the many Maiden greats. Stands the test of time which says everything ❤
Take my eyes, the things I've seen
In this world coming to an end.
My reflection fades, I'm weary
Of these earthly bones and skin.
You may pass through me and
Leave no trace, I have
No mortal face.
Solar winds are whispering,
You may hear me call.
We can shed our skins and swim
Into the darkened void beyond.
We will dance among the world
That orbit stars that aren't our sun.
All the oxygen that trapped us in
A carbon spider's web.
Solar winds are whispering, you
May hear the sirens of the dead.
Let the elders to their parley
Meant to satisfy our lust.
Leaving Damacles still hanging
Over all their promised trust.
Walk away from freedoms offered
By the jailors in their cage.
Step into the light, startripping
Over mortals in their rage.
Starblind with sun, the

One of my favourite Iron Maiden songs ... and by far my favourite song from TFF
Honestly why so many considers this album average at best is something I´ll never understand. It´s very progressive, yes, but the level of composing is extremly high, almost every song is a Golden Gem to say the least, many of them are Masterpieces, both musically and lyrically....this album is a masterpiece album, that´s for sure...
Still waiting for this song to be performed live.
Awful vocals. Overdubs don't hurt.
4:44 orgasmic solos !!!!!!
RIP Maiden....1980 -1983
Ja ja chesse poser
A lyrical masterpiece
There are NO OTHER band who produces music, guitar harmonies, riffs, solos, intros, outros, climbing dynamic bass lines, mind provocative lyrics and phenomenal performances like Maiden.....NO ONE ELSE even comes close to this Legendary band....
The best
These lyrics...cannot find the right words...
Very proggy 🔥👍
Please, Iron Maiden, play this masterpiece live on stage.
Utterly Fantastic Song, #1A on Final Frontier just behind #1 Isle of Avalon...............
both are incredible in their own rights...............
An OBSESSIVE and spellbinding IMMORTAL masterpiece, Haunting from the first note....the epicness and perfection makes me shiver....Maiden are the EPITOME of metal, NO doubt what so ever.....Breathtaking and utter Genius, all around....
Outstanding
MAGNIFICENT...........pure MAIDEN MAGIC....
Primeiro TNC quem deu deslike. Segundo uma das melhores poesias metalisticas de todos os tempos . Terceiro tenho esse cd que eu amo literalmente de sibrnatural paixão. Salvem Banguer 's.
NO words could EVER describe or make justice to the feelings when you listen to this INFERNAL touch of heaven......NO words could EVER be enough...
5:04 up the irons
GRANDISSIMO ALBUM....GRANDISSIMO PEZZO....GRANDISSIMI IRON !!!!!!💗💗👍👍👍👍
This is in the bottom Three Maiden albums for me, forgettable songs IMO
Maybe your music taste never made it out of the 80's...
@Pig Stalker Not at all, the songs arn't as good simple as.
So deep, never reach the end.
I´m lost for words, the awesomeness of this band, unrivaled in the metal genre, there NO other bans that creates music, guitar harmonies, riffs, solos and thought provocative lyrics like Maiden.......NONE....
An IMMORTAL masterpiece......the epicness is beyond belief, theese guys are the undisputed masters of their craft......I wish I could see them play this song live, at least once......a definite highlight of their entire career....
Lol i find you on pretty much every maiden video😂 Nice to see that there are other (young) people who love iron maiden to death! How was your Maiden concert? I remember one of your comments saying you were going to a concert XD
@Martijn de Groot the concert was WAY beyond my wildest expectations, the set list, stage settings and their amazing performances lifted the roof, I had the fortune of being first to the barrier, right in front of me were Steve and Janick...especially theese two took the show to another dimension, there were no air, nowhere to move, only magic on stage, I left with two broken ribs, a back like a rainbow and totally blown away so I´m going to Chile 2019, nothing could ever keep me away....strangely enough I´m their age, I´m ashamed to tell you that I " discovered " them about five years ago, heard Afraid to shoot Strangers and Hallowed be thy Name on the radio, went home looked at YouTube and since that day, I´ve never looked back, they are everything I could ever want or need....
In many aspects, this album seems a sequel of Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son sound. It would be really apropiate have titled it Somewhere in Space Time and recover the Cyborg Eddie at the bridge of an Spaceship. It would be better than the ugly alien Eddie made just for this sleeve.
The true metal ICONS Iron Maiden once again gives us proof of their supremecy in their progressive music.....Without a shadow of a doubt they are creating music from beyond the boundries of music...theese outstanding guys have simply a genre of their own.........
An IMMORTAL MASTERPIECE......a unique, progressive jewel in their discography in its own right, and THIS is the only proof you need, if ANYONE ever left a legacy it will be the true metal ICONS Iron Maiden, comparable to none, absolutely none....
Only 244,324 views, there is something wrong with our world, seriously.
5:04 one of the most emotional maiden moments ever
oh tio tah LOUCO iii KKK ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~m ~y~
TRUTH! Truly!
One awesome album by iron!
This song has the Somewhere in Time feeling big time!!
AN UNFORGETTABLE MASTERPIECE...... the truth and depth of the lyrics, the unique mix of guitar harmonies, epic solos and the powerful interpretation by Bruce.....all of it rolled into a MAGICAL progressive piece of art, PURE ART.......
My favorite 2 songs of all time -
1. Iron Maiden - Starblind (2010)
2. Bruce Dickinson - The Alchemist (1998)
i guessing that must be adrians solo starting at 4:42
i love that song.
5:04 is epic part... As part of the Nomad
Awesome song. Great Adrian Smith <3
6:57 infinite dreams lick
sort of
Yeah. I tought same.
I got the demo from a friend was running my husky dropped to my knees and cried
Based on what the song is about, I admit I'm Catholic but I'm not that too religious of a person and I'm not as closed minded as the Christians are. I'm rather pragmatic and unconventional yet still a good person inside who still lives life to the fullest the way i want to. So while I'm faithful, I'm not a blind, dogmatic follower and I am still me. Up the Irons.
So progressive. Excellent use of 7/8 near the end
decent but a mediocre album that can't rival with brave new world in any stretch of imagination
....IRON MAIDEN 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
UP THE IRONS!!!
As ‘stellar’ as the guitars are nicko is killing it on the drums
This whole album is severely underrated in my estimation. Sort of a "Somewhere In Time" of the second Bruce era.
kmsharley75 definitely, I wouldn´t really call it sort of Somewhere in Time, the lyrics and the high level of composing beats anything with the exception of AMOLAD of course.....it´s a masterpiece album, containing this epic song, the incredible Talisman and When the Wild Wind Blows......and there´s also the Alchemist and Isle of Avalon, maybe five stars isn´t enough for this outstanding album.....
Damned what a great song! The lyrics are so strong on their insights but sometimes hard to undertand de meaning of each verse, that it makes me wish of great music videos like the one's from the 80s and 90s, videos like "Can I play With Madness", "Bring your daughter to the slaughter", "2 Minutes To Midnight", and so on. What do you think guys? UP THE IRONS FROM CHILE!! I'm a huge fan from maiden since I was a little kid like 4 years old, and since it my favorite band of all fucking times!!
It's music like this that motivates me to keep going
Lurking Trashbag so true, it´s a phenomenal song on so many levels, their " classic " hits never comes this close to my heart.....this song is per definition a progressive piece of art, pure art....
Each song I'm lestining like a first time I lestining it
Gives me a Lovecraftian feel.
When you combine poetry and music you get Iron Maiden...
Sounds gay but when you combine passion to music(Heavy metal) and deep shit it's Maiden.
5:03 maiden being maiden
perfect song.....!!!
Those are really deep lyrics! This song 's amazing :)
4:02 Blue Oyster Cult—Stairway to the stars
que musica da hora o iron maiden é uma banda fudida que foda boa performance
I never get bored not from 1 song, any album many songs, every day with my soul iron maiden
2:09-2:30 now that is classic maiden playing.
This song is about thelema, and the end of the aeon of osiris
it doesn't beat the final countdown
"Empty flesh and hallowed bones
Make pacts of love but die alone."
God damn, guys. Right in the feels.
Chives5150 Deep Af
This song is one of the many living proofs that Iron Maiden is timeless.
not only timeless.....theese guys are the best, and I think they´ve invented a genre of their own !!!
up the irons puñetaaa
Wait a sec... The last third of this song soundd suspiciously like The Great Unknown from The Book of Souls... Coincidence?
Oh! You're right! Starblind at 6:02 and The Great Unknown at 1:27
Both songs are written by Adrian Smith
I think this song is talking about thelema and the coming of the new aeon.
TheRoland19111 Probably. Read up on that William Blake doe
The most amazing lyrics ever!! Up the Fucking Irons!
this shit sucks. music is about feeling just like any art and this doesnt cut it. how do they go from iron maiden to this old man music?
American Waste stupid brainless fuck.. it's true about you.
Best Maiden song of the reunion. Period.
Upsettingly brilliant
Whenever i hear this song i have to say some part of me tries to overpower me.Beast mode!!
This song is really fun to play on guitar, there is so much different stuff going on throughout to keep it interesting.
there are so many little touches that add a lot. I love that solo that quietly snakes its way through the second chorus.
Also on bass
4,42-5,20: glorious. Seventh son... again. Maiden are absolutely unique, their legacy will live forever. The book of souls is (for me) their absolutely best. Only can say thanks, big big
@***** This album yells seventh son.. people are just to fucking thick to give it a shot
+ThreeDaysOfDan
That might explain why I'm not too fond of most of the songs. Don't care much for Seventh Son's songs. The only track on this album that I count among my favorites is The Alchemist.
@Ikrani the first half of this album is classic POM- PS mixed in with there modern pacing , the second half is seventh son-ish This is a very polarizing album for me because once you pass mother of mercy the quality drops hard core up until the final song
I meant my previous comment in that while I can dig this song, most of the tracks on here don't really do it for me. Though I will stand by the Satellite 15 music video as one of the greatest music videos of all time. By all the crap that is holy, it's awesome
I love the rhythm of this song.
Did Maidens ever played this song live?
+Adam Mroźnik Sadly no
IMHO TFF is the best IM album since Fear of The Dark, the tracks are overall more well composed and catchier than the ones in DoD and AMOLAD, and just a little better than Brave New World.
There's not a single track in TFF that I dislike, and Where The Wild Wind Blows is in my personal Top 10 Maiden songs, simply epic.
+Cássio Amaral
I find TFF to be a lot better than Fear of the Dark. Don't find it fair to compare their post-reunion stuff to their glory days stuff though. The golden days was anthemic, cheesy as hell, amazing fun albums, while their post-reunion goes for a mature, progressive style. It's like comparing apples to oranges. It's sad seeing "die hard" fans shitting on the new albums because Maiden wanted to do something new. I actually prefer it this way. I'd be greatly disappointed if they continued chugging out 15 carbon copies of Piece of Mind up to 2015. It's one of the reasons why I grew to love the band. They never stuck around doing the same thing for too long. Their Di'Anno stuff was very different from Number of the Beast - Powerslave, just as Powerslave, Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son were all different beasts in of themselves. The sound they have going now is a fitting sound for the age both the band and our culture in general are in.
@Gurnle The Dark Chair God And now The Book of Souls has entered my top 5 Maiden albums. Their best one since FOTD, even better than The Final Frontier, just amazing!
+Cássio Amaral This is my favourite Maiden album, discovered them just after they released Brave New World, love both their current and old stuff, many of my favourites are from the earlier albums, but this album and song are just amazing
I listened to this song many times, with an open mind. The lyrics are awesome and I really wanted to like it. It starts well, the chorus is not bad, but the second half of the song has a subpar melody. Basically it is not a bad song but it disappears near The Talisman, El Dorado and Isle of Avalon.
"All the oxygen that trapped us in
A carbon spider's web."
Bruce is singing about cellular respiration and its role in synthesizing the organic molecules that are the basis of biological life. Who does that? Who but Iron Maiden/Bruce COULD do that? AMAZING. Just amazing. Greatest goddamned band there is. \../
@susanne williamsson If you like a great combination of music and intelligent lyrics I would recommend the Fish era Marillion, for example, their album A Script for a Jester's tear and Dream Theater for example, their song In the Name of God.
@N0rth3rnP1k3 I´ve heard quite a lot of Dream Theater, and their music is brilliant but there´s something about Maiden, I don´t know how to put it really, their music and lyrics " talks " to my inner soul, if you know what I mean......thank you for the tip about Fish era Marillion, I´ll try the album you suggested......
@maiden4 greece EXACTLY, you feel caught somewhere in time, out of the silent planet, in a dream or even beyond a dream........from another dimension, that´s for sure.....
@susanne williamsson ........thats right.....i got you....you got me,maiden is the answear musically and for our life too.........cause its way of life.Thank you my iron girl........be careful,cheers..........
@maiden4 greece Sick bucket needed
For me one of their best songs, along with Where Eagles Dare, Sea of Madness, Moonchild and Out of the Silent Planet.
Sea of Madness is insane
To Tame A Land belongs on your list
And then they gave us EMPIRE OF THE CLOUDS.. goddamn
Best song ever so epic
Damn. So deep. I feel like a lot of the songs on this album are really weighty.
xcamero360 and THAT'S what I LOVE about it.
awesome song, very good lyrics. still don't know why Dickinson pushes the limits his voice to such an extent, we would sound as epic and satisfying if he sang mostly lower and do less highs to build more emphasis on the songs. he often sounds tired here.
+MrDR7no yes way too high. just as high as the guitarrs, the same melody and so many words... kinda boring, but I think it's the way Steve Harris wants it
This song to me is the greatest Iron Maiden song of the reunion era
And it contains the best lyrics ever written, imo.
The talisman > starblind
the only heavy metal band that can play decent prog music today
Easily in their top 10 songs!
Do I hear Prog-rock or Prog metal influences in this song? (just curious)
And a few other music styles
Maiden started playing progressive-metal using synths in Somewhe In Time back in 1986 (and later in Seventh Son Of A Seventh son in 1988). It's a bit late to notice it ¬¬
BTW it's true that their last two albums are more progressive than the other ones. Cannot wait to hear the 2015 album *_*
@TheSporehacker yea the majority of the song is syncopated also some parts are in 7/8 time signature, very subtile tho. I love this track
@Helicida Songs like To Tame a Land already showed a progressive metal side Iron Maiden would adopt later on. Powerslave had progressive songs as well, like the title track and Rime of the Ancient Mariner. At least from my "progressive" point of view. If you ask me what progressive rock really is, I probably will only be able to explain it with examples.
@Leandro Del Prete And Phantom Of The Opera too ^^
They had progressive influences since they started, its obvious.
Awesome song! Not only it's soulful and sounds awesome, it also recalls Infinite Dreams musically and lyrically
This is a awsome song and album
The best one is when the wild wind blows
Today i have enormous dificult to make my Iron Maiden´s top ten songs.
Also because of this song. I´ve lost how many times this song played in my car.
Unfortunately not in the radio, because this music never play in the radio charts.
I still don´t know why ?.
Radio channels have no taste, that's why
Nah it's easy, there's way too much crap around which our generations think is "Nice music"
Why struggle with top 10, pick top 100!
5:04 *tears...such an amazing band \m/
This album is the exception to the rule "before was better"
I think it could be said of all their late work. Bruce's second era is giving early Maiden a run for its money. Their sound has aged very well.
And then the book of souls came out to prove it once again
This song shows that, in my opinion, The Final Frontier is one of their greatest albums. A 5 star masterpiece.
It is VERY underrated. Lord of Light is my favorite from that album. I like For the Greater Good of God too. I recently learned that one on bass.
The only weak song to me is The Longest Day. Don't really care for that one
Lord of light is freacking awesome!
Starblind is in fact, the best piece of music they ever did
Arthur van der Ster I honestly think this epic masterpiece would have had its given place on their imho best album they ever made, the sensational AMOLAD, I´ve never believed " the Different World " really fitted the album well enough, considering the theme of the album.....
Zawsze coś nowego.....I zawsze coś świetnego.Końca nie ma... :D
One word: MASTERPIECE!
