That bass line..FFS. People talk about Cliff Burton....Steve Harris had some chops and was grossly underrated.

Steve was always #1 or at near the top of every guitar mag reader poll back & year end awards back in the mid to late 80's. The term "Lead bass" was coined because of Steve's dominant melodic lines & harmonies. Hard to believe that's the same blue bass he's been playing for decades. He keeps getting it sprayed every so often.

I remember i traded disc 2 of best of the beast with a friend of mine for this album i liked this better. I used to think Bruce sounded like a opera singer and I liked Paul cause he sounds tougher and probably been in a real brawl or two. Early Maiden arguably didn't achieve success because of this. I like the raw material seems more real to me. More honest i don't know alot of people would disagree but they just prefer the opera and I prefer a street fight.

You can hear a slight mistake in the guitarist's playing, this shows that this music was REAL. They all played in a room together with mics all set up. Love this era of music, tho I wasn't wishing I was born then, not a "wrong generation" kid.
