Having listened a lot of In Flames and Dark Tranquillity , I found out that Insomnium are coming for a show in my city and I thought to give them a listen.

This song is ignique.

Insomnium is the best around, and no one is ever gonna keep them down.

Their singing needs tuning. In many bands, they at least make the singers voice pop out from the rest of the musical instruments. In this band however, they tend to blend the singers voice with the flow of the song which makes it impossible to map out exactly what they are saying. Imagine Batman screaming through the top of his voice without a microphone while their is death playing in the background. That is what this band seems to be doing which is fine but not my cup of tea.

+Christian Sharpe For me, this is EXACTLY why I love Insomnium and why most people here are in love with the band. They make the singer blend so perfectly with the rest that at some point the guitars are doing the chorus (this song doesn,t do it justice though, since it's... "lighter" ). The voice in this band is another instrument on par with the others. I hope they never change that! It is what make them standout; one of my friend who's now in love with the band almost consider them an instrumental band. Anyway, I'm just trying to say that it's not something that they can do better; it's a choice they made and I'm damn proud they are sticking to it!

I can't remember who, but one is studying/teaching (or was) Biology in some University in the UK. Ex-guitarist was a heart surgeon or something like that. I believe Niilo manages the band full time. Not sure with the rest.

Idk...just can't get into this one. Probably one of my least favorite songs by them. Really simple song structure and the chorus sounds like rise against or something. Not that it's bad, just not on par with their other masterpieces in my opinion.

I've spend hours and hours arguing why we should care about our future even when we're not there. Why destroying this earth only for ephemeral joy (I swear to god, I did not plan to have such a perfect use scenario for the word untill it just happend xD). And yet, INSOMNIUM can put those thousands of words into one simple sentence: "dying doesn't make this world dead to us". It's so simple, yet I never thought of phrasing it so beautifully.

What does dying dosent make this world dead to us mean? Exactly?

As a personal view, not sure if it makes sense, but our individual deaths do not belong to ourselves, but to the whole life system. Death does not cease your individual contract with the rest of the world, in any time. I like the explanation given earlier -- definitely not a Shit head.

Shadows of the Dying Sun was the best album of 2014, hands down. I like this version better though than the one on the album.
