What a killer song. It's the perfect combination of 70's glam, 50's rock 'n roll, and that raw Stooges sound. The timing really gets me, it's like there's a thick fat laziness that makes it feel real sleazy. Someone should make a video for this similar in tone and style to DJ Shadow's "Nobody Speak". Highly recommend the entire album, Iggy is a real treasure.

Funny how Iggy, Lou Reed, Frank Zappa and others who would have been considered liberals 30 years ago sound like dyed in the wool conservatives now. Iggy's songs are mostly all so over the top cartoonish I just think it is silly to link a quote from thirty three years ago with a song title and then claim that he must mean it. I bet anything that Iggy's points of view could not be labeled so simplistically. One line in the song that really stands out to me is "It would mean so much to me if you would only be like me" Iggy is not that way, he does not care. This is a cartoon song about self loathing.

I'm opposed to hate or victimizing people, but if you want a trans or gay person to be free to live and think as they choose, you better be prepared to recognize the same freedom for Bible thumpers, zealots, even phobics. Freedom is a two way street. You can't legislate people into tolerance. That's authoritarian. If people are hateful bigots, society will recognize them as such. I have no right to dictate your moral or value code to you, nor you to me. Remember, the same lefty politicians that yell about Islamaphobia and oppression of Muslim tradition in America are the same who condemn Catholics for not offering their business service to gays or other groups of people. Look, let businesses discriminate if they must. The free market will punish them over time. It's hard to imagine a business that discriminates not eventually crumbling, because the next business down the street will serve all people with zero prejudice. Again, I support tolerance and civility, and I consider myself classic Liberal, I don't agree with the modern politics left or right. Government should be limited to basic function.
