Hmmm her voice is to opera... The song is jazzy she needs to tone down her voice. I want to hear Lady Gaga or even Christina A do this song. I love the Jazzy version.

I love it almost more than I love Mariah's version. Partly because Mariah's version is played ALL THE TIME. This is something new and fresh. And Idina does an amazing job here. :)

I have to agree.

I've said this before, Idina is a fantastic performer and has a great technical singing voice made for things like theatre, but just not great for pleasure listening. She is not a powerhouse, not enough to pull off thing song. I love her so much but this is pretty intolerable.

One, It is not in Idina's range to sing that high. Two, Ariana could never be better than Mariah. I love her (Ariana's) voice, but I know who the best female singers of all time, and let's  face the facts; Ariana is not on that list and Mariah is. Again, I LOVE Ariana Grande, but you're comparing one of the BEST to one who, while she(Ariana) has an AMAZING voice, still has much to learn as a vocalist. This is my opinion, of course. (But it is a fact that when the top ten best female singers are mentioned, Mariah is one of them)

@Ny-Juan Frost  That's fine! :) Also, nowadays Ariana seems to have a stunning voice! Still not better than Mariah Carrie (personal opinion ^u^ ), but the improvement on her voice has been amazing! Whistle tones are a bit cringe-y (another opinion), but her vocal range as it is now is incredible. I just hope it lasts considering how much she belts in her music. I mean, Aretha Franklin is still able to somewhat pull off her title as Queen of Soul at 70 years roughly (which probably sounds weird, since most people think her voice doesn't sound like soul at all. When fun fact, in her time, that was exactly the sound of soul), but her voice is clearly tired from the use. I just hope Ariana can do the same without tiring her voice too much. :)

Clearly someone failed to watch the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller center the last 3 years (not counting 2016)... bc if you did you'd be saying MARIAH LEAVE IT ALONE!!! Face it... Mariah HAD an amazing voice in the 90's, but as much as I love her.... she can't sing like she use to live. Now she has to rely on background singers, a backing track, and all songs have been lowed in vocal range so she can at least hit SOME notes!

Mariah's isn't even the original. Just another cover. You have a preference. Doesn't make the other bad.
