Humble Pie - Four Day Creep Lyrics

I want you to love me
til the hair stands on my head
I want you to love me
make me dizzy make me feel like playing

I want you to love me
like a hurricane
I want you to love me
and stop stalling I love her again

Stevie Marriot great vocalist passed too soon

  6. K.... S....

As and Steven Marriott was not to forget!!!♡♡☆☆

  7. K.... S....

That voice was something that was a bloke for the next time now but the fact that he was a mate even though Kenny said no he spent a long time with him when he was in a place where when then you do need an all round care still spent to do songs of Ronnie Ĺane he was the one who was struggling but fighting for his dignity and his kind of songs. and Peter Townsend tried to keep the best on as session casting. but who would be doing this first for times was his small faces starter Ronnie. so look at all before you judge. as Molly oh too amazing to not understand how truly Don Arden ripped them off but Steven Marriott had to make a living as honest now you can see how your dad had to fight. but easy for blaming him.Get young just to eager to make music he had as band a RIP off.Don Ardens daughter got married to Ozzie as you can see Ozzie and Don .They married away where you was allowed. but this is another example and gets me but I think life is like a rollercoaster and we on it.Love KARIN

Venus will not contact me either. I am out of her league and she knows it. she is an airhead.information deficit. we have nothing to talk about. she will begin reading and studying the Bible because of what I said, but would never be able to carry on a meaningful conversation with me, or even if she is a genius, it will take years before she has anything to offer me that is intellectually satisfying. by that time you will be too busy raising our kids to have sex and will be releived for me to find it elsewhere.

  9. c.... s....

My first hard rock album I bought in 1972. Hard Rock is an understatement. Peter Frampton and Steve Marriott could rock with the best of em-TJS

  10. M.... B....

    Pete and Stevie!

  11. t.... ....

My uncle worked at a progressive rock FM station in the early 70s and told me that they had MANY requests for this album, when it was released!

  12. K.... B....

They opened for GFR @shea stadium and blew the place away

  13. M.... B....

Rockin the fillmore! Great album! I played this on KMIH radio- mercer island, wa kmih student run radio!

  14. M.... S....

Just read that Peter was diagnosed with inclusion Body Myositis...he said he probably won't be able to play any more after about another year. So, this is the first song I went to...it surely stands the test of time. Marriot and Peter were quite the dynamic force, to say the least.

  15. L.... B....

Love The Pie Grew Up With Them This Album Is Dynamite !

  16. C.... H....

    Yep Yep and Yep...

  22. c.... ....

My neighbours fricking love this album... At least... I think they do..... Cos when I play it at max volume, they bang on the walls and shout and scream just like the audience would have done that night at the Fillmore I guess?

    c.... ....

    Too funny

    c.... ....

Those are the best kind of neighbors, Even better if they like motorcycles that much!

    c.... ....

    Bahahahaha 😂 right on.......👍🏼

STEVE MARRIOT DID NOT TAKE NO SHIT!

  29. L.... R....

This track is listed as "Four Day Creep" by Blues singer Ida Cox? Not a chance. https://youtu.be/ZyUFxp1zDRk

  30. B.... F....

What glorious noise this was...my favorite song from "Rockin' The Fillmore". Saw them at John Carroll University in Cleveland in 1972 (I was 16; the perfect age for rock'n'roll) after Frampton had left them...they were still FUCKING GREAT...ears are still ringing, 45 years on!

  31. N.... N....

Don''t forget late great Greg Ridley. As I can see nobody mentioned him. Killer opener.

  32. C.... H....

This is how Jack White wishes he could play....but can't!

  33. B.... H....

Knew all the lyrics to smokin before I knew my ABCs

  34. M.... B....

Had the record for this, recorded onto maxell tape. Great!

  35. t.... ....

Definitely one of the greatest blues/rock live albums of all time, full stop.

  36. H.... N....

    Frampton still does this live.

  37. t.... a....

9 thumbs down at this point, I personaly cannot condone such silliness

  38. M.... T....

Absolutely IMHO the BEST band live in rock history- don't forget Greg Ridley was an absolute MONSTAH on Bass and Vocals. He drove the band with Jerry Shirley into legend. Their reign at the top of the live perfromance pyramid was all too brief. Thanks of course to Messrs. Marriott, Frampton and Clempson for the great riffs and vocals as well! "We'ff all had a GAS this time!!"

  39. D.... O....

I was at the concert in 1971 at the auditorium in Chicago blew my mind best concert of hard Rock ever for a 17 year old kid Steve Marriott kicked asssssss

  40. D.... O....

I was at the concert in 1971 at the auditorium in Chicago blew my mind best concert of hard Rock ever for a 17 year old kid Steve Marriott kicked assess!

  41. V.... ....

Some of my favorite singing by Marriott.

  42. h.... ....

    I love 'open-string-based' music

  43. R.... ....

Pete Frampton's last album with the Pie!

  44. L.... B....

Best Live Album Ever Rock On !!

    L.... B....

Top 10 Live Albums for SURE!!!

  45. D.... E....

I saw them at Fillmore West when I was 17. I remember at the time thinking there would never be another show as powerful as that one. I was talking about them for a year. Whoever anyone was talking about about I would say, they're nothing, man, I saw Humble Pie and they are the best.' I went to many more shows after that, for many years, and none of them held a candle to that night I saw Humble Pie. Until I was in L.A. years later, with some friends and we went to see this band people were telling is about. That night, and I was almost 40 by this time, and we saw Guns N Roses. That was the only time I felt like I did the night I saw Humble Pie. For a year, all I could talk about was that show. Funny how that is.

    D.... E....

+ Dorian Edwards   I saw a lot of great shows in the early 70's but would have given anything to see THIS one.  It had to be awesome.

    D.... E....

I was born in the early 70's and grew-up in the 80's. I saw Guns n Roses in 88' Giants Stadium,NJ with Aerosmith and Deep Purple. From all the cds that I have of SF and HP, marriott was hell of a singer with Frampton/Clempson on lead guitar. Rock On!

  46. j.... p....

The Pie Knew How Too , Well You Know, Top Five Of All Time, Marriott and The Boys,

  47. C.... S....

Peter frampton is a great guitarist

    C.... S....

he was just learning some jazz at the time, why his soloing is part rock and jazz

    C.... S....

He had been studying jazz for quite some time already. He incorporated a great deal of it into his style over the years.

  48. K.... J....

An underrated song from one of the greatest live albums of all time. This incredibly tight band played some of the most ass kinkin' rock & roll ever.

  49. G.... J....

    Not full version!

  50. J.... C....

I saw them do this at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm, London. God! What a 'GAS!' q. Stevie Marriott. Ears ringing for days after. At the time they were considered to be the loudest rock band ever! I also saw them at a Grand Funk Railroad free Hyde Park Concert. GFR were also supposed to be the loudest band around. Pie completely blew them away! The set they did at the Roundhouse was the same as the one on the LP. 'Performance - Rockin' the Fillmore' that this track comes from. PLAY LOUD! It’s a classic live rock album that still gives modern rock bands live albums a good run for their money.

    J.... C....

I was at the Roundhouse gig too and yep, it was LOUD. But I saw them at Drury Lane theatre with Clempson around the time of Eat It and it was even louder. Incredible sound levels! I was at Hyde Park and they just blew everyone else into space. They did the same at Charlton when they put The Who in the dark. GFR were just an average band but the Pie were the real thing. Marriott was the best rock singer that ever graced the stage, in my opinion. The best show I saw was at the Rainbow Theatre when they really delivered one of those legendary performances that you never forget.

    J.... C....

toomuchrose The Funk were incredible, especially live

  51. G.... W....

adding this to my solo slide/vocal&drum machine set...
my homage to Humble Pie & especially Stevie ... & it's
starting to rock... cos it's a brilliant song!

  52. T.... M....

Great Great Band ! Steve Marriott was the man ....One of the best and most underrated front men of all time !

    T.... M....

UNDER_RATED??? What are you talkin' about. They RULED while at their peak.

    T.... M....

Timothy Miller he was amazing a genius way underrated maybe the best of all time

    T.... M....

    He was electric.

  53. J.... E....

    best "live'" album ever

  54. h.... ....

I'd bet a local "Staten Island" band, w/ great guitarists and bassists, (and Drummers) could do a version of this that would Kick Ass! at their regularly-scheduled appearances at a certain BierHalle...

    h.... ....

OK...I have been 'out of it' for many years...but I will get back, doin' this and others...

  55. h.... ....

    OOHHH--Yeah!!!

  56. h.... ....

Great  Great Great!!!! This is such a great song to play, if you have a band, or just Listen To...

  57. D.... G....

Kick ass hard rock like it needs to be played. Crank it up and party. THE best live rock show ever in rock history. Hands down. Suck it up buttercup. This shit rocks hard to the bone... It shakes your soul and brings you in and you can't get it out unless you rock with it. Thank God for Humble Pie.

    D.... G....

    D.... G....

  58. R.... P....

Fuckin' Fuckin' Fuckin' Fuckin' "YEAH"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the shit my older brother brought home and blasted back in the early 70's when I was still a Partridge Family hostage!!!!!

  60. J.... G....

edmonton sundown, one saturday night, early 1970s, stoned, pissed but happy. what a band, i loved em, gtg

  61. G.... G....

1972 and listening to this on an open reel tape deck. Lights dim, incense burning, candles flickering....watching the tape reels turning and the illuminated volume meters registering the incredible sound I'm hearing. Now THAT is a great memory !!

    G.... G....

Were you at my house?????   :D

    G.... G....

Probably burned more than incense too lol

  62. S.... ....

    W.... C....

he is a kick ass bass player and jerry is a powerhouse drummer. and the underated pete frampton. to me it was hendrix. clapton, beck and page. but pete is right there

  67. F.... O....

Great band... Heavy and bluesy movin´

  68. J.... G....

The greatest live album ever.forty years on and the intro to i don't need no doctor still makes the hairs on the back of neck raise.

    J.... G....

+ Jim Greer -- What about the intro to "I'm Ready" ..... incredible !!

  69. T.... S....

WOW. THEY DON'T MAKE OR PLAY MUSIC LIKE THIS ANYMORE.  3 SINGERS, 2 GUITARS, ALL BORN TO ROCK.!!!
    THIS WAS THE OPENING TUNE.
THEY PLAYED 90+ MIINUTES. AND TICKETS WERE $5.00..
YOUR EARS RANG THE NEXT DAY AND YOU TALKED ABOUT IT FOREVER.
***CRANK IT UP AND LISTEN TO THIS WHOLE ALBUM***. IT'S ON YOUTUBE.

MUSIC IS IN A SAD STATE THESE DAYS.. ALL FAKE DIGITAL/ANALOG CRAP.....

    T.... S....

Was listening to this and my dad told me about how he was there in NYC at this show. ROCK N ROLL!

    T.... S....

+Ian Gardner I second that, mate - there was only one Steve Marriott. One huge voice comin' outa that Small Face!

    T.... S....

RIGHT ON.  HE WAS A NATURAL BORN ROCKER!!!

    T.... S....

I wished I had saved my ticket stubs for this performance at the Fillmore. there was no pre-sale bullshit .. no scalping .. a bunch of us were in the east village on second ave and saw the marqee .. Fanny - Humble Pie - Lee Michaels. 5 bucks ..third balcony. When Humble Pie opened their set, I swear that the Fillmore lifted off of it's foundation. Stayed for one Lee Michales tunes and left . no one follows Humble Pie

    T.... S....

you're right there, I this was the album that got me into the pie

  70. b.... s....

who the f were the two culls that disliked this?

    H.... ....

There's always a nice pair of KOSS PRO-4AAs. Just don't damage your hearing!

  72. D.... M....

    Really You Tube!
This was a great jam. And commercials all the time in the middle of them. thhhbbppllaeee!

  73. D.... M....

cut the great jams off again with a commercial You Tube!

  74. M.... B....

    Humble Pie, remember vinyl records?

    M.... B....

@Mark Berge Yes I do cause I still have them including RTF.

  75. C.... B....

The DMV used give you "Frampton Comes Alive" If you passed your driving test. I still have mine. Young Frampton was great the short time he was with The Pie.... after that so-so.

  76. .... M....

Very under rated band.I think they rocks like hell,Greg Ridley on bass and Jerry Shirley on drums, yeah, I like it.

  77. B.... T....

You can dump on Frampton if you like, but 40 million plus albums later and being played on radio all over the world everyday since its release is nothing to sneeze at.  Pie only satisfied one side of Framptons interest, thats no sin.

    B.... T....

first of all it was not frampton group to begin with it was steve marriott thats what humble pie was all about  thats another reason why frampton left not that he left on bad terms he and steve were great friends and were about to put humble pie back together just when marriott died in a fire.

    B.... T....

@michael amaral  That is true Michael..they were working on a reunion album..Jerry Shirley confirmed this !

    B.... T....

yeah i know there were just before steve marriott died in a fire
and was not dumping on peter frampton if you read he story about when he left he even said it was a mistake knowing that there were going to make it big with rockin the filmore but like you said blake peter was headed to his own stardom

  78. K.... K....

Humble Pie fans, what did you think when 'Frampton Comes Alive' was released?
I'll bet you can guess what I thought, but I'm genuinely interested in your reactions.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
    Rock On.
ps. I've seen the heartfelt and thoughtful comments below.
You people sound like the HP fans I remember.
    K.

    K.... K....

I love the LP and how long it stayed on the charts is a testament to how powerfully good it was. I love 461 Ocean BLVD. Want to talk trash though, how about Rod Stewart's disco phase?

    K.... K....

    @EmpressOfWyoming58
    Not while I'm eating.
I'll get back to you in a bit.
    Rock On

    K.... K....

@Kevin Kral when  "Frampton comes alive was released " ? this album had NOTHING to do with  Steve Marriott gang live!!!!!! so no problemo Dude

    K.... K....

@Kevin Kral I guess you can say he was a sellout. but when he was in The Pie at 18 yrs old  he kicked ass.  rock on  peace  aka Classic Bob

    K.... K....

saw the pie at southend kursal england 1974 when i was 16 had this album frampton had left by then great with the pie but his other stuff middle of the road rock ok if you like your stuff waterd down but this is the real deal

  79. C.... S....

    LP released November, 1971

  80. G.... H....

Dave that's why so many of today's really well thought of players listen to bands that recorded 40 to 50 years ago. They lived the music and you can tell every once of energy they had went right into that Les Paul and into your ear. You cannot fake honestly and the music holds up.

    G.... H....

    That's right.
    Rock On, Gary.

    G.... H....

+Gary Hull You should check out Rival Sons. I'm 50 and haven't heard anything like them in years and years. Blues rock from the heart.

    G.... H....

I was about to recommend the same when I read his comment, truly an amazing band Rival Sons and even in their last album there's a rendition to Humble Pie (Black coffee).

  81. j.... ....

Preach Dave! I couldn't say it any better!

  82. D.... H....

..you would think with all this great music, the music world would irrigate progress thru the decades and just get better and better..thank you record company numb nut bastards for polluting the world with complete shit in order to make money..and ruin the art form that was once creative and majestic..this is why the world has gone stupid..there's simply NO MUSICAL INSPIRATION OR CULTURE..

    D.... H....

Oh stop with the "corporate greed" B.S. It's called "give the people what they want". People WANTED disco, they WANTED new wave and punk and hip-hop and record companies obliged. There was a core audience that loved music like this, the rest were just there for the party.

    D.... H....

@mattleemattlee123 ...and for the record, I think this is one of the two or three best live albums ever. And I hated disco. And punk and new wave and hip-hop.

    D.... H....

@mattleemattlee123 yeah maybe I'm just missing all the substance and depth in hip hop and disco..maybe all that culture and substance has dumbed me down so much that I don't get the quality of the one good disco song and the three hip hop songs that make a difference in todays world..what was I thinking?

  83. L.... D....

Listening to this brings back some of the best memories of my life.  This is live Rock & Roll at it's finest.

    L.... D....

This phenomenal live performance AND "Rock N Roll Animal" (Lou Reed and some very talented guys).

    L.... D....

Rock N' Roll Animal is great.

    L.... D....

    @Lorraine Dalu
    Great Lou Reed album.

  84. E.... D....

Jammin to the Full Album @ The Fillmore ...........whoooooooooooooooohoooooooo

  85. C.... H....

@jujujijijaja Someone pink and fluffy... I want you to looooove meeeeeeeee wooooooooooohoooooooo

  86. j.... ....

Who the hell is the ONLY person that doesn't like this song?!?!?!?! -____-

  87. j.... ....

@NashaWriter Lol, I was just about to make the same comment. I'm actually 25 too and my dad showed me Humble Pie years ago. Too damn good...

  88. p.... ....

    Now thats rock n roll,,

  89. A.... D....

    Epic song :D love it

  90. c.... ....

What a live album should be!!!!!!!!!

  91. J.... B....

Amazing. Rockin' the Fillmore still stands up to anything ever done. What an awesome collection of talent they were.

  92. i.... ....

Grew up listening to this in Scotland with my good mate Alan.
No bullshit Rock n Roll, really miss it these days!

  93. J.... ....

@hollybuck123 dude t/y for still being alive
this comment of yours is like an apostle's gospel to me
i saw most myself but regretably never pie

imo ridley marriott frampton & shirley make
john paul george & ringo seem like
    mickey davey peter & mike

if only stevie's ego coulda been reined in a bit
shoulda compromised w/ frampton met in the middle somewhere
but i still luv the mug
he was simply the greatest rocknroller ever my two pence

  94. J.... ....

@talpajam your ears more nuanced than mine
but agree w/ fave tune opin

& considering 'i dont need no doctor' AND 'stone cold fever
are BOTH the coolest songs ever THAT is saying somehting

    marriott's 'get down' at 2:59 is w/o a doubt
one of the ten coolest moments in r-n-r history
(im actually compiling a list - too much time on my hands ;-)

  95. C.... R....

forgot about this tunes gotta smoke a doober to this one

  96. g.... n....

@MrClassicRockster. Certainly so! These are the greatest of rock+roll, and let's not forget Ten Years After with Alvin Lee!

  97. M.... B....

Fuck do I miss bands like this !!!

  98. b.... ....

    @MrClassicRockster

  99. b.... ....

@MrClassicRockster - Couldn't have said it better myself. I was there, and in a lot of ways, we'll always be "there." Unless something dramatic happens, the music from the 60's and 70's will never be topped. Kinda sad, really...BTW, the "drunkest" I ever got at a concert was when I saw Uriah Heep in '75 or '76...
