Huey Lewis & The News - Stop Trying Lyrics
[Chorus]
Stop trying, stop trying to call her,
She doesn't want your sympathy
Stop trying, stop trying to call her
She's exactly what she wants to be.
She goes up and down but never goes out
She's getting it all for free
She's shadow boxing loosing the bout
Its pretty easy to see
I know you've, you've seen a better sight
You say you really wanna help
You better open your eyes, hey
We see the morning face in the bathroom mirror
She's careful never to see
It tells a story of the sleepless nights
not what she seems to be
I know you've, you've seen a better days
You say you owe it to yourself
You're gonna change your ways
[Chorus to fade]

Huey Lewis & The News Stop Trying Comments
Great song. First 2 albums were the best.
This was my anthem 1980. Me and my buddy hitting the clubs and living this album, one of the best years of my life. Constantly quoting lines from the lyrics, and one of the best was "she goes up and down, but she never goes out". A great song, but as Crossbone said, they all are.
With the words of Johnny Colla, in the beginning Huey Lewis and The News really were New wave, but with more than just four chords haha!
Eighth-notes syndrome.
My God..This album is So Wicked...I'm YouTubing it Song by Song and so far It's all Killer...No Filler
