Holly, Buddy - What To Do Lyrics
What to do
Now that she doesn't want me
That's what haunts me
What to do
To keep from being lonely
Want her only
What to do
The record hops
And all the happy times we had
The soda shop
The walks to school now makes me sad
Oh, what to do
Still not knowin'
What to do

Holly, Buddy What To Do Comments
Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran,and not forgetting Patsy Cline,What a tremendous Loss,R I P
Yes he represented the good image of a Rock and Roll star.He was neatly dressed his hair short and well trimmed.Unlike the Beatles and the Rolling Stones who stormed the world music barely five years after Holly's death, the latter was a role model for youths.
Yes he was a genius when it comes to Rock and Roll. But tragically his life was cut short by a plane crash on 3 February 1959.It is already sixty years since that plane crash that took his life.
What if had Buddy Holly lived?Would he be a match for the all conquering Fab Four the Beatles?
By late 1958 just before the ill fated Winter Dance Party tour,Buddy Holly had come up with several new songs such as "Learning the Game."
Well who knows in 1960 or 1961 Buddy Holly might even steal the thunder from the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley.
Holly's genius is that he wrote and then sang most of his songs.
Every time I think back to my GREAT school days in Brooklyn, I think of this song! Great stuff!
Who else has lots of moment when they think to themsleves what to do
Great song Buddy.
Was this the Fireballs version? Jazzmaster?
My favourite Buddy Holly song,..what a superb number
"Her record pops" is one of the best metaphors I've ever heard.
Brandon Karcic it says “the record hops”
My version is clipped at the head. Google Buddy Apartment tapes. Original so much more in Buddys style. I hope Mr. Petty at least paid Buddys widowed bride the money he never sent to Buddy before he died....
Buddy was NOT on this recording session. It was his vocal and acoustic guitar only from the Apartment recordings he did in the NYC apartment he shared with his newlywed wife. The tapes were overdubbed by two seperate producers who with Maria Elenas blessing released them on two seperate labels. I can only listen to the apartment versions of these songs. I feel a little like Buddy was going to release these as a solo and produce them himself on his own label TAUPE records.
Such a wonderful catalogue of music in such a short time. That's called genius.
Imagine the fabulous songs we would have had if he hadn’t died, R.I.P. genius.
silent thoughts xx !
Music doesn't get any better than this
A true musical genius at his finest. Nearly 60yrs ago now, and yet still nobody to match his unique talent. RIP Sir.
Well said goldcup11.
Aaron P and the same from me 👍 what a legend in the so little time as a musician
Saw a 50's concert over the weekend. What a surprise, some songs brought tears to my eyes. It was the joy of the 50's relived, and what I wouldn't give to hear and see Buddy again. snifffff
What to do when the song is over just start it over
shame they over dub ... buddy solo better
+fullmoon and That's what They Say - original far better than the dubbed over later one !
if u search for undubbed versions u can find it (on spotifiy)
not sure if its the case for all of them however
Buddy was unavailable. Listen to The Apartment tapes songs. If you like Buddy you'll be amazed.
Definitely my favourite song from Buddy.
Reminds me of me over Christmas break and summer

When I used to listen to this I always thought the lyric was 'Water only' :)
One of Buddy's very long list of hits.
Over 50 years since first hearing, to this day whenever hearing again, I recall instantly that location.
Thankyou for downloading.
love ya buddy
With us for such a short time'
Thanks for this
DEFFINATELY BEST BUDDY'S SONG !
haha i know man, i was being ironic. buddy rocks.
Buddy Holly was not a hipster. No stupid looking fedora. No scruffy beard and most of all no pretentiousness. Buddy Holly wasn't trying to be cool as hipsters forever do. He was cool.
Very few styles were available in those days.
His music is as fresh and upbeat as it was in 1959. Great to hear again.
my dad used to have a tattoo saying (rock and roll will never die) he was right , god bless ya dad
haha rave on my friend
Correction: Hipster glasses are a bit Buddy Holly.
his glasses are a bit hipster
