I found this band through a friend and fell in love with the sound. But now we're going through a rough patch and listening to these songs feel like a punch in the gut.

It's the same for me. I asked a friend to listen to them and that person loved them and there music but now we are not friends anymore and we did not have a good ending at all so i feel you. I hope you and your friend get well through it.
