Some have commented on this being blasphemy or critical of God. IMO, it's actually the furthest thing from blasphemy, at least on the original Tom Waits version. It's more of a commentary on some people's approach and expectations in religious practice. A lack of humility and sense of entitlement. But ultimately, it's whatever you choose to get out of it - it is art after all. And it's done so well I feel lame even trying to describe it.

They really made this song their own, and I'm digging it. Lots of Amy Winehouse vibes, with some Pink Floyd thrown in by Bonamassa's reverby guitar. Love it a lot.

original artist is Tom waits. the song is about not wanting to church on Sundays, the chocolate Jesus is referring to a chocolate candy that has a cross on one side and a scripture on the other.

Bought the album last night at my local shopping centre. I came in for comedy DVD's and this album was playing. I was nodding my head so furiously and shaking my ass the sales advisor came over, handed me a copy and said, "judging by how hard you're nodding your head, you need this album in your life", she was right! I have not stopped playing it. I can count on one hand the albums that I own that can be played from beginning to end without skipping songs and this is like the third. I love it
