Harry Connick, Jr. - Smile Lyrics

Smile tho' your heart is aching,
Smile
Even though it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by,
If you
Smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through- For you.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry trace of sadness,
Altho' a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile- What's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.

Harry Connick, Jr. Smile Comments
  1. J.... F....

Sua voz é do estilo de Bobbi
    Darim

  2. J.... T....

great voice that's all that matters!

  3. D.... G....

    y love you Harry♥

  4. I.... S....

Harry Connick Jr is a total fraud! He's not a native of New Orleans! He's from Weston, Ct, where he attended public school from 1970-1982. He's pictured in all the yearbooks for that time. His real father - not the old guy from New Orleans who pretends to be his father - is or was one of the top guys at Sony Music and a stockholder in Sony Pictures. Boo fraud! Boo...

    I.... S....

David Cotton is a teacher of sorts to me (Theater Director), so that would be inappropriate to ask. But if you have no actual rock hard proof like websites or even the pictures you speak of then it makes me believe you are just throwing out lies. But if you do find them, I'll gladly have an open mind and look at them. @I Smell Poop

    I.... S....

Hi, You clearly identify the fellow under the title of The United States Justice Department! Nevertheless, even if he's now somehow been demoted to your Theater Director, I think he can still be of some assistance. While I myself am merely a victim of Connick Jr; a theater director should be able to make the appropriate inquiries and one who has been affiliated with the FBI can certainly do so all the easier. Connick Jr is perpetrating a fraud of considerable scope and magnitude, it would in no way be inappropriate for you to ask Mr. Cotton for help here. Whether you chose to believe me or not, let me assure you: I am a man of my word. I know Connick Jr to be a native of Weston, Connecticut. The old DA guy from New Orleans is not his real father. Finally, rather than ruin another nice day over this dork, there's truly nothing more I can advise you to do other than to travel to the Weston, Ct Public Library, check out the 1982 edition, wherein you'll see a picture of 'Poop-Pants' Harry, under his own name as the only member of his class who failed to graduate. A good approach would be to ask Mr. Cotton if his 'accent' is really that of a native of New Orleans and then take you questions from there. Good luck in the future and, unlike Harry, try to rise on your own bootstraps! Thanks again and "Break a leg, kid!"

@I Smell Poop You are a victim to Connick Jr. ?

    I.... S....

No! I am a victim OF Connick Jr. I was victimized innumerable times by him and two others between May 1990 and August 1994. How I was so attacked by them are right up (Agent?) Dave Cotton's past or present line of work. But never fear, because now with the gift of YouTube and the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, I'm breaking even with 'Poop-Pants' Harry and company. You can say I'm one of the banes OF Harry Connick Jr. Anyway, after changing my fifteen month old son three times today, twice of which consisted of Harry Jr's good old "Lucky Load", I've had enough poop-pants people for now. Still, if you'd like to hear about how Harry Connick Jr. was stuck in the Weston Public School boy's bathroom toilet stall in fourth grade crying because he couldn't wipe his butt, simply say, "Yes! Yes! Yes!" It's a super story and due to your unflagging interest today, I feel you deserve an excellent laugh! Do it, please!

    I.... S....

    @I Smell Poop what story?

  5. B.... ....

Google: Harry Connick Jr Weston, CT. Learn the truth about this fraudster!

    B.... ....

@mike dewald you take the time to watch the video and comment, and you make fun of someone else for doing the same. da fuck

    B.... ....

well i was on this page because i do like his music.  I am not on someone else's video who i can't stand making comments.  I was already here so i commented.

    B.... ....

@mike dewald there's the excuse. if someone else does it, make fun of them. if i do it, i'm not like them at all. i'm different. hah!

    B.... ....

not sure what you are going off about wasnt even talking to you. You must be bored

    B.... ....

@mike dewald oh, boy, this guy...his brain, so wrapped up in his own ego

  6. C.... ....

it doesn't matter who's singing this song, it's the words that mean everything.

  7. S.... B....

I don't like this version......Nat King Cole is still the best!!

  8. A.... C....

    His voice is so lovely!

  9. Y.... M....

My husband just sent this to me! ♡

  10. M.... R....

I think the point is to feel good, not bad; while acknowledging that there are sadnesses in our lives. We can make things better - with a smile. What did Charlie Chaplin give us?

  11. V.... G....

Magic song. His voice is so beauttiful. I love it! "If you just Smile"

  12. a.... s....

Totally different style and vibe!! Can't really compare them! Nat was great, but this is awesome too

    a.... s....

Nat was terrific, but Harry has a much better voice than Nat did.

  13. N.... F....

    Mmmmm yes (:

  14. J.... B....

    You idiot.
If you bothered to check properly,Sammy Davis Jr died of throat cancer, not drugs.
    In future,get your facts right!

  15. l.... g....

"Smile though your heart is aching smile even though its breaking "

  16. f.... ....

I totally agree with you...that's the genius of Harry! He gave this a big band twist, which is my ABSOLUTE favorite!

  17. i.... ....

Has nobody poster Harry's "Booker" ??

  18. M.... L....

THEY SHOULD HAVE SUNG THIS SONG AT WHITNEY HOUSTON'S FUNERAL. So much sadness there. sammy davis jr taken by drugs -- michael jackson; any winehouse; keith leger-- get rid of these doctors in hollywood.

  19. M.... L....

this is the way Charlie Chaplin (the composer) wanted the song done. If you listen to the words, it's a very sad song but if you "Smile" you erase the sadness and that is what charlie chaplin wanted. I LOVE THIS SONG.

  20. J.... D....

I saw him being interviewed by Piers. What a NICE guy Harry is. He is so talented, so grateful for every little thing. I Like This Man. He is very dedicated to his home town. New Orleans must still be some town.

  21. L.... J....

Love me some Harry Connick Jr! Loved you at The Louisville Palace a few years back! Can't wait till you come back. Happy New year!

  22. A.... ....

@SilentSymphony15 Michael Bublé's version is craziness, it makes you want to dance. I've heard to many versions of this song to pick one that I like the best.

  23. h.... ....

Well said. Good old Charlie Chaplin. He's tending to be forgotten these days, but he was a genius.

I like people who can bring something of themselves to this song and Harry does this. I like a sad and sentimental song, but there's nothing wrong with clicking our fingers every now and then. You know something, you can listen to Bennett, Cole, Connick et al. No need to choose. We really are blessed.

  24. L.... ....

Michael did a great version of this song, it's on the album History, it's a sweet symphonic version with a big orchestra, this one by harry is great too.

  25. S.... ....

good ole Charlie Chaplin gave us this good song..not Michael Jackson!

  26. N.... C....

@rapi321 May also have been Robert Downey Jnr's version, it was released as a single and did quite well I think.

  27. c.... ....

I love this version!!! It makes me want to be happy. I love, say, Michael Jackson's emotional version, too, but this one is pretty awesome in it's own HCJ way!!

  28. D.... D....

Thanks for posting. I love Harry.
