Harry Connick, Jr. - (I Do) Like We Do Lyrics

People stay together forever
In the light of a meaning, too
But no one does, 'I do' like we do
Fireworks fade and the fireflies
Once the honeymoon's through
They don't do 'I do' like we do

Nobody got a you like me
Nobody got this history
Of the good times, and the hard times
And the wild times they've been through
Nobody got a me like you
And I ain't much but this much is true
No one does 'I do' like we do

I tried to keep you guessin'
And you still got me confused
No one does 'I do' like we do
Everybody turns out the light, oh
The day is through
No one does 'I do' like we do

Nobody got a you like me
Nobody got this history
Of the good times, and the hard times
And the wild times they've been through
Nobody got a me like you
And I ain't much but this much is true
No one does 'I do' like we do

I ain't knockin' what the others got
Cuz they a good thing, too
But they don't do 'I do' like we do
Ramblin' down this same ol' road
We'll find our 'something new'
And no one does 'I do' like we do, yeah

Nobody got a you like me
Nobody got this history
Of the good times, and the hard times
And the wild times they've been through
Nobody got a me like you
And I ain't much but this much is true
No one does 'I do' like we do

No one does 'I do' like we do
No one does 'I do' like we do
No one does (no one does), no one does
No one does (no one does), no one does
No one does (no one does), no one does
(No one does) yea, yeah
No one does (no one does), no one does

No he doesn't. he's a lot better than any of musicians

    R.... S....

+Levi Vanderwall watch the live performance he did on american idol. It sucked. This song has nothing but autotune. So don't say he's better than any other musicians because he's not😂

    R.... S....

Still better than most mainstream pop!

  12. B.... R....

Bravo Harry! Back to your Louisiana roots! Love you!!!!!

Mate, Jazz has it place in this World, just very low down in this case.

  15. M.... H....

Don't like how you do Like We Do, Harry. Where's the passion? Sounds like you're singing from the back of your throat. Not you, until the last 30 seconds. Stick with what you do best.

  16. S.... M....

Love me some, Harry Connick Jr,!!!

  17. J.... L....

Glad to see Harry is back to venturing into other genres. Variety is the spice of life.

    J.... B....

  21. D.... G....

Man, LOVIN' this song, can't get it out of my head, awesome talent !! (decent actor too...)

  22. C.... ....

naaah ... I don't like it. Harry trying to be somebody he is not.

  23. b.... M....

Way too ordinary for the great Harry... Doesn't do what all of the great songs you've done for years and years and all that you've become to the people that admire your unique voice and arrangements. Its like asking Blake Shelton to do his arrangement of "Chandelier"... doesn't work, wouldn't sell...

  24. B.... ....

Remember, he only pretends to come from New Orleans! He's a native of Weston, Connecticut, where he attended public school from 1970-1982 and is pictured in all the yearbooks for that time. If you ever hear him in concert, he's really overrated! In fact, he would never have ever come to the attention of the public had his father not been a top executive at Sony Music and a stockholder in Sony Pictures. Thus they even have him as a judge on American Idol, while by and large he bites both as a singer and a musician. Here him live and you'll know what I mean. Nepotism, money and fraud, always come together with this guy!

    B.... ....

+Biel2619 He obviously has a deep appreciation for New Orlean's culture. His music is different, which is what a lot of people like about him. Have you REALLY listened to his stuff, or do you just not like HIM for some reason?

    B.... ....

I don't "like" him because he made me the victim of a series of federal crimes by mailing compromising material about me to a number of persons and institutions here and in Europe. The dates for those crimes are April or May 1990, January 1991, August 1992 and finally in August 1994, when the FBI caught him, his flunky Tommy, and one of his pals, who already had a federal arrest record. So, I've been exposing this fraudster, pretend native of New Orleans and product of nepotism, since 2009. The Swedish lawyer who was assigned to the matter as well as an old friend of mine, both told me that I was making a big mistake not suing Connick Jr. My friend told me, "There's not good deed that's left unpunished." and he was right. That was back in May 1991, before fraudster Harry and his pals ever thought they were caught. So, what did they do? They continued to victimize me until September 1994, when the FBI, who had already caught up with them in 1991, finally came around. I thought I was being a bigger person not suing him, due to the fact that in 1970, his real father - not the old pretend guy from New Orleans - had offered to help me out in what could have been a sticky situation. As usual, I got myself out of trouble without any assistance from anybody, but his fatherly care was well-noted and I paid him back in kind. But now, I've changed my mind. The degree of malice, motive and terrible damage has finally come to be paid back in kind as well. Take some time, and count the number of points of affinity over the length of time they conspired about me to commit those federal crimes. They were some terrible decisions! Now, it's time for payback! Thanks for the interest Chanda and best regards!

Well, I became an instant life long fan and now---may I say some 30 years later. I love you more then ever (and him)! You look the same but your and music evolution only gets better and better. 36. A.... E....

Ehhhh.....I'm gonna have to call a pass on this one. As far as that goes, I honestly don't think he's put out a really good record since "Star Turtle" back in '96. THAT was a friggin' MASTERPIECE, and really should've been a bigger hit than it was.

    A.... E....

+Alan Elam A lot of his stuff should have been BIG!! What is wrong with people!!??

  37. z.... ....

    great tune!!!

  38. Y.... B....

Harry is maybe the best bandleader/pianist in a generation of New Orleans musicians, disappointed to hear this generic adult contemporary junk.

  39. a.... l....

Love it Harry❤ Keep it up!👏😍

  40. M.... X....

Love his old stuff, love his new stuff, love him!!

  50. D.... B....

    D.... B....

    +Daniel Briggs
Who said it had to be Jazz ?
You obviously haven't heard what Harry did with his albums 'She' and ' Star Turtle' almost 20 years ago.
Keep up fella if you're going to criticise., or shut up.

    D.... B....

@charliebadger it just caught me off gaurd that's all.

    D.... B....

He's bloody fantastic is our Harry.
I prefer stuff like this to his 'covers' and 'crooning' style. :)

    D.... B....

+Daniel Briggs it's called fusion jazz infused pop.

  51. L.... W....

    France love that

  52. C.... ....

Maaaaan...I am really loving this song. Quite a change of direction for Mr. Connick Jr. And that is not a bad thing. Sometimes we have to change direction to keep ourselves happy.

    C.... ....

+CitySkin09 Beatles did it a couple of times..Great tunes Harry

  53. k.... g....

Loved hearing this new song at Tanglewood a couple weeks ago. It was a great show.

  54. D.... ....

Love the groove feel this has. Great Job, Harry.

  55. P.... ....

Sometimes you've got to do what feeds your own soul as an artist.

  56. F.... ....

I miss the beautiful, smooth, big band, classic/standards sound he had for the majority of his career. This could be just some ordinary, unidentifiable country singer. With a voice like his, he should be using it for all its worth. Bring back the jazz!

    F.... ....

Jazz has its' place, but not here thanks.

  57. C.... P....

    Love this new stuff...

  58. R.... M....

Interesting change of style. I like it overall (much like I like the direction he took with She & Star Turtle).

  59. U.... J....

I just discoreved his music, and gotta say I LOVE IT!

  60. S.... C....

Love the beat and rhythm to this tune!! It's brilliant Harry!! :)
