Hank Williams - Be Careful Of Stones That You Throw Lyrics
[CHORUS]
A tongue can accuse and carry bad news
The seeds of distrust, it will sow
But unless you've made no mistakes in your life
Be careful of stones that you throw.
[SPOKEN]
A neighbor was passing my garden one time
She stopped and I knew right away
That it was gossip, not flowers, she had on her mind
And this is what I heard my neighbor say:
"That girl down the street should be run from our midst
She drinks and she talks quite a lot
She knows not to speak to my child or to me."
My neighbor then smiled and I thought:
[CHORUS]
[SPOKEN]
A car speeded by and the screamin' of brakes
A sound that made my blood chill
For my neighbor's one child had been pulled from the path
And saved by a girl lying still.
The child was unhurt and my neighbor cried out:
"Oh! who was that brave girl so sweet?"
I covered the crushed, broken body and said:
"The bad girl who lived down the street."
[CHORUS]

Hank Williams Be Careful Of Stones That You Throw Comments
Shirley Ceasar version was 10x better
So true. My neighbor accused me and now I throw a wave every time they pass by to travel up and down the highway. Their hate will confound them until they take the back way out of the subdivision The answer is simple: Love your enemy, it confounds them. Love your neighbor as yourself, second great commandment.
The tongue is secret weapon.
Harper Valley PTA??
Be "careful what stones you throw??"
215 have gave this a thumbs down . I wont pass judgment on you. We already know what you are.
This is so true.We are NOT TO JUDGE.
GODS WORD SAYS JUDGE NOT LET YOU BE JUDGED.
LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY
these were songs when gas was thirty cents a gallon; and love was only sixty cents away.
A song for life
Hanks Birthday is coming up September 17th
There are many people who think they are perfect. They should take a look at there past and present and not judge a person by the way they talk or the cloths they wear or the house they live in etc.
Amen!!!
Can't wait to see the list of who paid for that.
Funny How Some People Never had A Good Word Or Did Anything For Who Probably The One That Stoped, Well You Know. It's the only reason some people are even Alive,

NEIGHBOR'S RUN LIE'S ALL THEIR LIFE'S
Only Hank could touch us like this, he was the BEST!
No truer words. If you don't get this, you don't get nothing.
God tells us that it would be better to cut your tongue out than to let it wag gossip and bring discord to others. It is the most evil member of the body because it can Rip out every thing good in a person and replace it with all that is ugly, hurtful beyond comprehension and self loathing in a person that can absolutely drive you crazy. I believe people do this to others because it makes them feel better about themselves and that my friends is a down right shame. I know that I have been guilty of this in my life, but I Pray that God will forgive me and I thank Him for giving me the courage, love and the horrible weight on my heart, so I can run, not walk, and fall down begging for forgiveness for the pain I have caused someone else. Hank Williams pulled no punches when he wrote and sang his music and I do now and will always believe he's the greatest of all country music. God help us to put down the stones and to sweep our own closets before we try to sweep others and walk in peace harmony and love with everyone around just like you tell us to do so that we may not condemn ourselves and miss making Heaven our home. I love this man and his music I wish I'd had the chance to know him. God Bless all and let your light shine always.
♥️♥️♥️
Dedicated to my friends and family.

If people would follow the words of Hank Williams song, Be Careful Of Stones That You Throw, this would be a much nicer WORLD!
Great message! Google lester flatt and earl Scruggs singing GIVE ME MY FLOWERS WHILE I'M LIVING.
I remember being 12 and going fishing with my grandfather and he would play Hank Sr. cassettes in his Lincoln towne car on the way to our fishing spot. My grandfather was a salt of the Earth American who served in Korea in the Air Force and then toiled in a steel mill after he got out. He taught me to work hard for everything I wanted, to respect women, and to appreciate living in America. The Lord called my "pap" home 7 years ago. Miss him every day and hope he is proud I am teaching everything he showed me to my boys.

My crush right back
This reminds me of my ex boyfriend Greg Rodrick.
Bye-bye snitch greg
A masterpiece by Luke the Drifter.
What a message. People today ought to hear this.
Hank Williams as Luke The Drifter always made a story of songs like no one else has . He had a way of giving you something to think about . He'll NEVER be topped with the way he could sing from his heart .
"Oh! who was that brave girl so sweet?"
I covered the crushed, broken body and said
"The bad girl who lived down the street."
Crying tears right now!! This is so very true!! Thanks for sharing this!!
Got chills.
Nice song and brings tears to my eyes.
Oops, person.
The lyrics of this song rings true. I've met people who are so quick to judge others, and they were found wrong about that pwrson. I've been guilty of it myself. I asked God to help me not to judge. God alone is judge, and no one else.
Gossip its sad
I was born in 1938 and when Hank Williams came on I think ,1947 he was the greatest among the best singers of the era Hank sang a lot of songs I know there may be some songs he sang I will not hear but anyway he was the king of country music
A story that is very interesting that I want to share is when Hank was on the opry he brought Ray Price to the opry he told the officials that if Ray didn't sing he would not go on . Ray went on got 5; standing ovation.
I just love the music of hank Williams it is so calming
John 5. 25 . In the Bible says that righteous and the unrighteousness will hear his voice and come out of death to live in a paradise here on earth. Hope you live to see it .

The poisonous acid of a tongue out of control hurts both to whom it is directed and the vessels from which it comes!

Hank knew. We live in a society of stone throwers. Fortunately for us we had him and a few like him to cushion the pain and help Jesus lead us through the misery we've created.
I GREW UP LISTING TO HANK SR I STILL LOVE HIS MUSIC
Raised on rock & roll and Hank's Greatest Hits (along with Creedence, the Stones, the Beatles etc) was simply part of it. Bad ass rock & roll with a southern accent! Anyway, this Bostonian boy is trying his best to keep the spirit alive... Check it out y'all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MwcBvGLpV0
