Hands Like Houses - Ana's Song (Open Fire) Lyrics

Please die Ana
For as long as you're here
We're not
You make the sound of laughter
And sharpened nails seem softer

And I need you now somehow
And I need you now somehow

Open fire on the needs designed
On my knees for you
Open fire, on my knees desires
What I need from you

Imagine pageant
In my head the flesh seems thicker
Sandpaper tears corrode the film

And you're my obsession
I love you to the bones
And Ana wrecks your life
Like an Anorexia life

Open fire on the needs designed
On my knees for you

Open fire, on my knees desires
What I need from you
Open fire on the needs designed
Open fire, on my knees desires
On my knees for you

Hands Like Houses Ana's Song (Open Fire) Comments
  1. B.... J....

Among all the other covers, this one really stands out.

It captured the emotion of the original.

  2. S.... S....

The sultry sounds of Trenton get my motor going

  3. B.... C....

    When Silverchair's meets twilight soundtrack.

for sure, i rather be deaf.

  4. K.... X....

Any else noticing they a lot of the bands on the album have similar tones to Daniel Johns

  5. I.... ....

    Open fire

  6. O.... C....

If I had AIDS and cancer at the same time and they told me that listening to this was the cure, I would tell them to stop the medication and let me die alone in the woods.

    O.... C....

Os Co that’s a very dark and unneeded comment. Try and be positive once in a while.. your life might just improve

  7. L.... D....

Oh man, this cover is incredible. I love this guy's voice so much... he definitely encapsulate's Daniel's smoky and passionate vocals.

  8. n.... b....

    O thank god. ❤

  9. A.... C....

This is a good cover although it sounds fairly similar to the original, particularly the vocalist. Great song regardless.

  10. C.... S....

    Wow! Fucking awesome!

  11. B.... G....

This is by far the best of the Spawn Again covers. Not sure of the singers name in this band but he's got some great vocals going on. Great job fellas.

    B.... G....

    Ben Gasser
Trenton Woodley. One of the nicest dudes I've met!

  12. R.... ....

Wasn't expecting this cover to sound THIS GOOD, the other ones on the tribute album don't come close to this.

  13. C.... S....

    OMFG 💕💕💕💕💕

  14. J.... B....

Of course the original is better, but this isn't bad. It sounds good, i just wish they would have thrown in that grunge sounding guitar tone like northlane did on their silverchair cover.

  15. D.... ....

the start really needed that acoustic guitar but this was pretty good.

  16. D.... W....

Memories from my youth are flooding back!! Love it!

  17. B.... B....

    too weak

  18. J.... ....

    I like it!

  19. M.... R....

    Could've been heavier...

  20. A.... S....

Not a fan of the cover. Sounds like a radio Disney version of the original. I'm sure the band's original music isn't bad though.

  21. V.... D....

this is subpar. I love ana's song and was hoping for something more creative than this.

    V.... D....

vix rose um im very confused as to why. Because his voice sounds different and the drums are almost completely redone. Just listened to the original and they arent similar at all. Never heard of silverchair until this cover.

    V.... D....

Bradley Williams, so what do you think of Silverchair's original version of this song?

    V.... D....

back-to-the-fact i liked it. They have two completely different styles of vocals. I dont play instruments but i was able to notice some slight tweaks they made to it. The original is gritty and raw. Where as hands like houses displays it in a more ambient and cohesive way. Both are good i just personally prefer this. But silverchair did it originally this is just a tribute to admire a band that inspired and helped heavy rock become prominent in Australia. With that being said it shouldnt be looked at like a pop goes punk album. These are genuine songs that have helped these bands out. It doesnt matter how they did this tribute as long as the message is conveyed. Which it is.

    V.... D....

Example A. Of why you have no taste in music

  22. T.... D....

    Holy shit balls

  23. R.... D....

    Amazing work lads ;)

  24. v.... T....

Anyone know if there working on a new album ?

    v.... T....

vParadox TTB HLH? Probably not until the new year comes around

    v.... T....

T-sparks Daniel Granados aw okay thank you

  25. R.... M....

Perfect homage to Silverchair, they made it their own version, yet still channelled Daniel John's harmony!

  26. P.... ....

Man, I love hands like houses but the cover just doesn't have what the original had. To many instruments and sounds and the vocals are just to high. Meant to be a darkish song. It's not bad, just not what it should be. Gets better bout halfway through though. Vocals just need to be a little bit coarser

    P.... ....

Pertster1 I don't think suppose to be like the original. It's their own version. And I think it's brilliant.

    P.... ....

Derek Aleksandar I'll be honest man, first time I heard it I thought it was Shit, but I got some new headphones and it made a Hell of a difference

  27. A.... F....

No disrespect to this band but silverchair covers a big shoes to fill........like massive

  28. T.... M....

Fuck me! Haha Hands Like Houses never fail

  29. a.... ....

    So good.

  30. T.... M....

Awesome cover guys i cannot wait to own this on vinyl

  31. B.... ....

I thought a Disney Princess movie was on. I stuck my head out the shower and tried to figure out what I was listening to. Sounds so familiar

  32. A.... B....

Instead of insulting all these bands based on their covers, how about supporting them for having the talent of pulling it off and doing these songs as a tribute to a great band.

    A.... B....

    Who's insulting it?

    A.... B....

literally everyone in these toxic comments

    A.... B....

Thank you for such a nice comment. It's their own version and tbh I love it.

    A.... B....

"Stop having a different opinion to me, you're hurting my little fee-fees."

    A.... B....

    lol u got me m8 10/10

  33. W.... ....

These bands are just playing the songs????? - bringing very little to the mix - Lame

    W.... ....

Warnerchild what else are they supposed to do?

    W.... ....

completely rework them - daniel johns was the type of songwriter that had "Tomorrow" and "Emotional sickness" "Spawn again" and Straight lines" in the same resume - he would listen to these 2 songs so far and roll his eyes at how similar they are to his songs

    W.... ....

a cool way for unfd to prove me wrong tho would be to interview ben or daniel and release that video the day the album comes out - or a spotify audio commentary maybe - where they discuss things they do like from the covers

    W.... ....

i'm sure there will be one cover i will like on this album but it's neither of these - and it upset me cos i like northlane a lot

    W.... ....

The purpose isn't to rework them. This whole tribute album is to literally pay tribute to the band with metal sounding versions. They don't need to strip all the originality from the song and rework it because they haven't been asked to do that. I also don't think you should speak for Daniel, because if he had any say at all in the making of this tribute album, he obviously approved it to be sold. I also don't think they'll interview Daniel and Ben because Silverchair aren't together anymore, there's no need.

  34. -.... ....

Hands like Houses is such an underrated band. They make every direction of music they take perfectly fine

    -.... ....

-InvisibleGirl- They get millions of views on their originals, hardly underrated. They could definitely be mainstream radio popular though, shame.

    -.... ....

1/2 of them are me lol. But still they are not at all mainstream. My first warped tour attending was this year. Saw beartooth and memphis may fire and it was claustrophobic. As soon as their set started at 5pm it was practically empty and the crowd was unenthusiastic. Warped tour is pretty big tour. It could have been the fact that I'm in Ohio and not Tennessee. But the point remains i cannot mention hands like houses and people will say yeah they are amazing. It always blank stares and instant name bashing. They do deserve more and have worked hard to get where they are.

    -.... ....

    my favourite band ever!!!

  35. B.... L....

I've never actually listened to Silverchair, but it sounds incredible guys!

    B.... L....

Well, I was born in the late 90s, and I'm more of a Living End and Spiderbait fan when it comes to 90s Aussie rock.

    B.... L....

I was born in 2000 and am a huge silverchair fan! How could you not have listened to their music?! And i grew up listening to spiderbait and the living end....

    B.... L....

Breaking Light listen to silverchair now!!!

    B.... L....

you are doing yourself a disservice by not listening to their first 3 albums - Frogstomp, Freak Show & Neon Ballroom.

    B.... L....

    Diorama was better IMO.

  36. S.... E....

Pretty good honestly, but i wish they would tease more stuff from their upcoming record. all we got is drift and thats great but i just really want more now.

    S.... E....

I totally agree but I wouldn’t hold my breath on hearing anything anytime soon. I Am came out over a year before we heard about Dissonants.

    S.... E....

Drift is a standalone single. It will not be on their newest record. At least thats what they have said. Who knows maybe it will. But trento said in the comments of drift that it was standalone. Next year is when the album comes out. Im guessing around late summer early fall.

    S.... E....

I saw them live a few weeks ago. Trenton said they were already working on their next album. Now, I don't know if that means they're writing, recording, or whatever.

  37. J.... A....

    BOA MUSICA !!
