Why does everyone hate Uno? It certainly isn't Dookie but it still is pretty good
Because the entire trilogy is REALLY underwhelming from a band like this & a lot of the songs are repetitive & blend together. Uno is especially guilty of this, especially entering the second half.
Billie Joe Armstrong also said that the entire trilogy wasn't that good, looking back on it, during the production of Revolution Radio. And, not that we didn't get some really good songs from it, but I tend to agree that the rest are filler-y as shit & not worth a revisit. If the trilogy had been condensed to a longer album, I don't doubt that it would've been a stronger effort overall.
Scsigs Gaming I kindly disagree, to me the trilogy has the same rate of gems than any other Green Day album, and a great deal of my favorite songs are in the trilogy. There's nothing I love more than RevRad but I think the trilogy is fine the way it is. That may be selfish though, I know the conditions and the not very healthy state Billie put himself into in the course of making these albums. But if I had to reunite all the songs I can't let go off the 3 albums it would be around 30 from 37, too much for one album... I too read what Billie said about it more lately, and he probably pushed himself to write several songs from the trilogy, but whatever he says I'm glad these albums exist.
There are some good songs in the trilogy. I think if they took all the good songs and put them into one album it'd be really good.
