You did hear of them, they release popular records before, like dookie, insomniac and nimrod and warning as well but didn’t quite get much attention, still you did.

People this CD already came out with American Idiot. The bonus album had like 4 songs on it. Go look it up.

Thank God the master tapes for this album were stolen. If this was the title track? I mean it’s not terrible, but w/o the tapes getting stolen, we wouldn’t have “American Idiot”. Then the posers would just have “Dookie” to say was the only good Green Day album. They can feel much more like they know what they’re talking about, if they can say “Dookie” & “American Idiot” are great, but all their other stuff sucks.

This is the song that, due to the time of its composition(that's my theory), sounds familiar to everybody, but no one can pinpoint exactly why. All people can do is list 3-5 songs that are similar for whatever reason.

I think it sounded like Nice Guys Finish Last but this is better.
If the tapes was not stolen, there will be no American Idiot but it was great that they make that concept album and it turned it to Broadway Musical. But most of all this is a great song of Green Day

Most of the songs did end up getting released. Fell For You, Stray Heart, Lights Out, and some others were released in 21STCB and the trilogy, while others were additions tracks, like Too Much Too Soon, Governator, Shoplifter, and When It's Time

@Jhofy I did the like the way Green Day made their album. It seemed as though they were tracing back what they did with American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown and possibly some elements from Dookie were there too.
From the new record I loved "Bang Bang, Ordinary World, Still Breathing, Troubled Times and Revolution Radio". The other songs I listened to them but not like those I mentioned. Similarly, from Blink-182 new record I really enjoyed "Cynical, Sober, Bored To Death, Los Angeles, left alone and Rabbit Hole". Other songs were a hit or a miss.
The thing I really like overall was that both of the bands kept to their original style and it took me back to the first I heard their music. I think that counts more than anything for me right now. I am still waiting for Punk genre to make a strong return.

Forever Now keeps reminding me of the album American Idiot Japanese Import CD2 "American Idiot" song. It's a live song. I love that song and as soon as I listen to Forever Now I mentally start singing American Idiot.

I think it's funny that if the tapes hadn't been stolen then they probably would've died out or at least have been a really small band. I do hope that at some point in the future they remake the album though, I think it sounds really cool.

He's just saying that they would not have gotten their second wave of super stardom guys. They would still have us, their fans that were there in the 90s but without American Idiot they might not have attracted as many new fans as they did.

If C&V had been released instead of AI, they wouldn't have experienced the resurgence they did, but at the same time wouldn't have alienated their previous fan base like they did.

I personally like C&V than AI but some songs on C&V sucks really hard 😂

I've been a fan since Dookie, and they didn't lose me at all - I think it's a brilliant album.
