My youngest daughter is named Cherayah... after this song. I changed the spelling to match her older sister whose name also starts with a C, to give them the same initials. This song is from my early high school years, and of course as a mother... this song has many memories and meanings.

Love this piece! I think many of us have a Sharayah - someone who won't, or can't, share a point of view (Christian or otherwise) which is blindingly obvious to us. Someone whose blindness drives us almost to despair but whom we love greatly nevertheless.

I have a friend that suffers from the same level of depression as me...it gets really, really bad... believe me... I know. she and I have a code word to say or text when we want to end it, reaching out to the other, without actually having to grovel for help....

I don't see the link. Sure, Jesus is not mentioned by name, but it's implicit that the "He" is Jesus. The name "Sharayah" means Princess - "Sharia" means law, constitution, ethics, or "the way".

I love all her old music. I grew up listening to it and when I hear it now at 47 year's old it takes me back to my younger years. Also it reminds me how long Jesus has been apart of my life, he is my best friend, my everything.

This is my favourite album of Amy Grant's. This was like the peak of Gary Chapman and Brown Bannister's work. It is one my favourite albums of any music type. There are just so many good songs on it.

how many girls have been named after this song? amy grant still rocks at age 51! i don't care what others think. she put christian music in the limelight. can i hear an amen? i invented a new game around her, i call it the " seven degrees of amy grant " you play it like that kevin bacon game but with amy instead. everyone in christan music is connected in one way or another with this woman.

I'm one of those odd ducks who, stylistically at least, much, much prefers Amy's music after she went "mainstream". Her early stuff was pleasant enough, but this album and those that followed were musically much more compelling, far as I am concerned. This is great song, effectively performed by her. Actually, I love most of the pieces on this album. She could really pick out songs which effectively captured what is best about her voice and style. (BTW, my name is NOT Sharayah!) :o)
