Gord Bamford - Leaning On A Lonesome Song Lyrics
Borderline crazy. Goin' out of my mind
She said maybe. She'll come back in time
Yeah, but lately.. I'm leanin' on a lonesome song (Leanin' on a lonesome song)
I've been lyin'. (I've been lyin') Been talkin' to myself
But I'm trying. (But I'm trying) Leanin' on a lonesome song (Leanin' on a lonesome song)
Let those twin fiddles sing. Let that steel guitar twang
Pour me something strong, I'm barely hangin' on
Leanin' on a lonesome song (Leanin' on a lonesome song)
It's in that juke box fillin' up the room
It's like pouring whiskey on an open wound
The only thing that helps my heart alone (That helps my heart alone)
Is leanin' on a lonesome song. (Leanin' on a lonesome song)
Let those twin fiddles sing. Let that steel guitar twang
Pour me something strong, I'm barely hangin' on
I'm leanin' on a lonesome song. (I'm leanin' on a lonesome song)
Leanin' on a lonesome song. (Leanin' on a lonesome song)
Leanin' on a lonesome song. (Leanin' on a lonesome song)
Leanin' on a lonesome song. (Leanin' on a lonesome song)
Borderline crazy, goin' out of my mind
She said maybe. (She said maybe) She'll come back in time.

I listen to this song at least 3 times in row, each time ❤ love it! So glad I was able to see him live, in Prince George. 8 hr drive, so worth it😊

If a man from Mars asked me,what is Country?......I'd say....listen to this!
Great piece, music & singer & backing a pleasure to listen to thanks a million
So much
I met Gord in person. .he's Canada's finest.
born in Australia mate, but we'll let you borrow him
@wayne adam being born in NAZI Germany didn't make you Hitler either, just made you born there.. He is Canada mate
Great effort, not many contemporary artists who are staying true but this fella seems to.
What Country should sound like. Right up there with Confederate Railroad, Charlie Pride, George Strait.
so underrated...what a great musician..should b on top
Totally true. But is it just me, or is he always standing inside ruined or abandoned buildings in his videos?
Good, good stuff!
Who is the fighter in this video? Does anyone out there know?
+Angela Csernyik Darrel Greenman, he is from Weyburn Saskatchewan, living in Red Deer, Alberta
Big big smiles because my uncle directed and filmed this :DDD
who was the boxer?
Who was the boxer ?
Who the hell would downvote someone's art? If you don't love it, leave it.
We need to call every country radio station that we know and request his music.
very good intertainer see n him in concert
dedicated to late cuz
The man to whom Gord Bamford dedicates this tune? His brother-in-law, sadly deceased by his own hand following a long, hard, ruthless, and frigid descent into addict hell, poor soul.
(RIP, Cory Mathies 6 October 1969 — 5 June 2011.)
That becursifryingly brutal disease takes no prisoners (and, I should know: Come 9 June, I shall raise a glass toasting 33 years of sobrietry [No sic]).
Think along those Eliotic lines expounding upon the way in which "[f]or us there is only the trying" in "East Coker" (FOUR QUARTETS) or sing along while GB pours "whiskey on an open wound" in his shiverously unique yet splendorously hurt-broken trademark fashion.
Arguably one of the most keeningly heart-shattering recorded-compositional tributes ever laid down on a train-wreck track-set ten-foot digital platter, praise Him. Hallelujah . . .
My sister ❤️ show Ed me this song I miss her so much she has been 💔 gone to spirit world 4yrs ago my best friend now my dad passed away october 27 my heart is really hurt I wish my heart didn't hurt so much I don't know how I can take this 💔😢 anymore I need prayer
saw him live at lucknow music in the fields, this guy can sing!!
Love him so much. What a talented man
Love this song has so much sentimental value to me especially losing someone with a severe mental illness. Saw him at Boots and Hearts on Sunday and he was amazing! As well, killed it a Havlock last year! He definitely needs more recognition for his undeniable talent and his traditional country music - that is soulful and has meaning/substance.
YA i'm over him now thanks to this song
sounds soothes the soul doesnt it....
One more good song from Gord Bamford I got. To listen to his music every day it makes you feel good
I keep coming back to this.......Proud of the amazing talent flowing from this kind hearted man! What a truly blessed talent!!! I pray to shake your hand one day! <3
Awesome singer
Bamford is the country singer to bring back the good ole country sounding music
Cool lol
Super song and talent....Gord deserves more recognition.
He is an amazing artist. Very talented down to earth humble man. Deserves every bit of recognition. His live shows are worth seeing
Doh! You're right lol
Don;t know for sure who the boxer is, but I'm 99.9 per cent sure it isn't Aaron Pritchett. Too many tattoos, and the face doesn't look like Aaron.
This is three years late.. But it definitely isnt! Its Daryl Greenmen- very close family friend of mine!
A great song, great video!
I love Gord's voice. Strong and compassionate at the same time.
Was this filmed on part of the Set for Paschendale?
Love it! Great song and great video.
Who is the boxer he is so fine
Ya what Steven said... are you an idiot?
who is the fighter is this video?
love this tune
hate to be the one to tell you, but your both wrong a little, its " let those twin fiddles sing, let that steel guitar twang" :D have a nice day
Great song
It would be a hell of a challenge to write a real country song that didn't use some variation of something George sang...
this is real country music
Amazing song Gord. Thanks for sharing it with us. Cheers!
Did anyone else notice the nose whistle at 2:48?
Lmaooo yes
i feel like that line was paraphrased from George Strait's Heartland... very similiar
Love this song....just love the line ....borderline crazy going out of my mine....
Love it
Good Ol, Alberta Boy! Keep it up Gord! Oh Summer send off was awesome...Just like last year! See you in 2013!
Hope he sings this on the awards next week.
With a name like Gord he was destined to sing country music. What a voice and it is so refreshing to hear a truly country song in the days of pop country and hard rocking country. I like pop country and hard rocking country okay as long as it has a solid amount of country sound but some of this stuff today is purely out of it's category. Still it is the new traditional country that I love best. Here in the US that sound is all but dead. Anyway it was a pleasure to hear this song.
Great song by a guy that was born to sing country.
He was born to sing country songs I love his voice
I love this Song.I hope he wins the CCMA's this year. He deserves it so much.
This is a true Country song..great job Gord :)
I saw Gord Bamford in Terrace BC. He's so relaxed, easy going and such a good singer.
Great song, after I hear it in the morning I find myself humming it over and over.
Just a great song!! Great voice, great production.
love from NS!
Gord Bamford brought back the traditional sound of country music. It should make you really happy or really sad. Nothing wrong with either of that. If I feel shitty about life, at least I can lean on a lonesome song.
My bad I sorry she right. I'm the dumb ass
Let those twin fellows sing, let that steal guitar twang. Dumb ass listen to the song
Hate to be to tell you this; but Brittany was right. Its "Let them twin fiddles sing; let that steel guitar twang"
105.1 Calgary, but listenin from small town Carstairs, AB
It's let those twin fellows sing, let that steel guitar twang, get right. Canadian country kicks ass

Wish i could find a station to play this song...i request it. But...i feel lonesome and have to come back to utube....
I tend to go overboard. But i cant help it...forgive me for being obsessed..and saying too much.
I first heard this song on Canadian country radio...go figure..soooo zweeeet...

Soooo country in the best way...god bless his heart for givin us a tastey bit of true country....daaang son!!!!
It takes guts & courage to put yourself out there. Pour me something strong. He touched my heart.
I really like this song, it has that traditional country feel. I listen to a lot of country radio, and this is, by far one of my favourites. My father was a old time fiddle player, it makes me think of him when I hear this song. I hope I get to see you play live one day.
heard him sing this live...great song
I just discovered this song. Its like the pure country from years ago. For some reason it speaks to me. Its beautiful.. and hes freakin hot!
Nice words ...!
