Glassjaw - Convectuoso Lyrics

I am Caligula
Glutton of gluttons
Man over woman.
Man of all women
The whore of all man.
And I'm not ashamed to admit
It's not enough to say that I love all of you.
And I'm aroused at your lying.
We are OK
In a misguided sadist way.
We are OK.
We are OK
In a disabled veteran way.
We are OK.
She could not ever begin to imagine
The terrible engine mind.
It haunts her mind.
Family of five.
The engine mind.
I dine with wolves again.
I travel with thieves again...
And what did I teach you?

In a roundabout way GJ brought me to Converge. Listen to them too, motherfuckers

  2. S.... ....

2019. I still don't understand why the crappy live version and not this, got into Spotify

    S.... ....

Roadrunner won't release the publishing and distribution rights because the band rightly more concerned in not having Daryl die of Chrohns that they wouldn't tour the full cycle of EYEWTKAS (which includes the original demo of Con and is owned by RR)

    S.... ....

@J Bag Well, the more you know!

  3. B.... H....

I dined with wolves again. I travelled with thieves again.

  8. W.... t....

How many versions of this song are there?

    W.... t....

john doe 2 maybe more... one is the demo their label put out as bonus on EYEWTKAS re-release. Pretty sure they were pissed and don't like that version cuz they wanted to record it for real for worship and tribute and roadrunner blocked them saying they'd have to pay a re-record fee cuz they had a demo of it. I think this is the real worship and tribute version that was on early promo versions of the album

    A.... ....

Alvaro I always thought as far as Long Island bands go, these guys got the recognition silent majority should have gotten.

    A.... ....

top 3.you just don't know it yet.maybe when you get older lol 6-8 would have had more respect than a reg ass 5. this band is actually special ^_^ for even their random fans( d&co ) as I've seen have touched ppl I wouldn't have noticed any IQs to acknowledge them greatly. their music no matter what is always God with an extra O(Eye) Good! they're so great they are the wizards of Oz.'s ... sorry s clowning cause 1z with s is still more Z's with numbers haha sorry my friend s is half 8. If convectuoso did end the album, would it still have followed two tabs or would have two tabs been placed somewhere else on that album? I wonder how it would have worked. Great song and a shame that all that legal craps stopped them from making the album they truly wanted. Same goes for the song Midwestern stylings which was going to appear on W and T.

    S.... k....

    fucking Roadrunner Records.

    S.... k....

    Now they record albums themselves.

  15. D.... ....

Samuel, you couldn't be any more right brother. Amen to that.

  16. W.... ....

In a way, Worship and Tribute is a lot better than ...Silence.
It has consistency and the ALL the tunes on the album are great and pack a punch.
    My opinion.

    W.... ....

The way I look at it, EYEWTKAS was pure almost uncontrolled emotion and energy, Worship and Tribute was them channeling all that and really getting "in touch" with their instruments. Honestly hard to compare in my book.

    W.... ....

Great songs on both records. Its obvious they grew from EYEWTKAS to W&T. Some of the tracks of the 1st record were written when they were 16/17 yrs old. Worship and Tribute as a complete record aged better then EYEWTKAS. I know they dont care for some of the misogynistic lyrics Daryl covered on about half that 1st LP, but the mellow tracks like Her Middle Name was Boom, When One Eight Becomes Two Zeros, Piano, the Title track, & hidden last track (Losten) HAVE aged well, and I know the fanbase would be so appreciative IF they'd add just ONE of those tracks to the current set they've been playing (I NEVER miss a GJ show in the Midwest EVER)

  17. d.... ....

Gotta admit, I love the demo version better.

  18. R.... G....

    Daryl still has chron's disease.

    R.... G....

    never goes away.

    R.... G....

    Intermittent fasting y'all

  19. a.... ....

    fuck yeah

  20. W.... ....

I mean even though i think eyewtkas is their best i still love it all.

  21. B.... ....

    you're an absolute fool

  22. J.... T....

You are idiots if you think roadrunner records are the dicks here. Worship and tribute was nothing compared to everything you know about silence. For anybody who thinks different, you might as well listen to puddle of crud. They went mainstream and ruined it. Everything you know about silence will go down as my top 10 favorite albums, but sadly glassjaw will not be in my top 100 favorite bands.

    J.... T....

Jeff Turner except for the fact that Worship and Tribute had far better, less cringey lyrics and had far more experimentation - not exactly what I call 'going mainstream.'

    J.... T....

I like to think, somewhere, someplace, 4 years later Mr. Jeffrey Turner has revised his stance on this matter.

    J.... T....

    Hopefully, he did.

    J.... T....

I hope J Deiss did as well. Poor millennial can't handle real pain in lyrics.

    J.... T....

If you're gonna praise the eyewtkas album...at least get the fucking title right you dunce.

  23. W.... ....

no more, no less for the common good
    thats you, american womanhood

    thats you, american womanhood

    it haunts your mind..

    W.... ....

That line is actually a reference to a Frank Zappa song, "Harry You're a Beast" Palumbo references Zappa lyrics at least 3 other times: "Home of the h(t)it" "On the bus" "My life is such a ball I run the world from city hall". Might be more.

  24. S.... H....

If you can, listen to this song after listening to the whole Worship and Tribute album. It ends the album much better than Two Tabs of Mescaline does (even thought I consider that an amazing closer).
Roadrunner Records is a dick, not letting my all time favorite album end the way it deserves to be. At least on my iPod it ends the original and intended way.
    GJ for life <3

  25. O.... ....

I have so much respect for this band. You can feel emotion in their music that few others bands can convey so intensely. It's clear in this song he has been deeply hurt by someone in his life. And i have stomach problems but luckily I don't have chromes(which i was tested for). My half sister has it and it sucks big time. Truly respect him for whats he done even with that disease. True fucking hero's to me

  26. A.... ....

yeah the post hardcore era really had some damn good music

  27. S.... K....

Glassjaw, At The Drive-In, Refused, Deftones, The Icarus Line and The Used hold the throne for high quality/passionate music. From First To Last - Heroine and Finch - Say Hello To Sunshine are honorable mentions. It's too bad bands aren't like this anymore...

  28. D.... .....

    love this photo

  29. c.... ....

    beautif

  30. s.... ....

  33. M.... ....

dude had fucking chrons disease I'm sure he doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks about the delay of their " third " album

  34. l.... ....

    this is the shit.

  35. m.... ....

I love this band, they do everything with such strength and conviction.

  36. m.... t....

i am the glutton of all gluttons

  37. D.... ....
