George Harrison - You Lyrics

(one, two,
one, two, three, four)

I, I love, love
And I, and I love you
Oh you, you, yeah you

And you, you, love, love
And you, yes you, you love me
Yeah you, you, yeah you

And when I'm holding you
What a feeling
Seems so good to be true
That I'm telling you all
That I must be dreaming

And I, and I, I love you
Oh you, oh you, yeah you

And when I'm holding you
What a feeling
Seems so good to be true
That I'm telling you all
That I must be dreaming

Now I, oh I, I love, love
And I, yeah I, I love you, I love you
Oh you, you, oh you

Oh, you know that I love you, oh oh oh
Oh, you know that I love you, I love you, I, I said I love you

  9. Z.... M....

Like a missing puzzle piece, after 40 years, today i got to know the artist and song title, one ofmy childhood great melodies. Oh boy, talk of hiding in plain sight. The summer of 1975, the song got embedded in my mind. Thanks to the web, and Casey Kasem.

  14. V.... Z....

Was this just Jim Gordon on drums or Gordon and Ringo?

  15. S.... K....

A professional composer only can make a song with only with these lyrics "I love you" ....and the music, man.......I enjoyed the music! The song too is fantastic...a song with only 'I love you'

  16. d.... t....

one of my favorite george albums, though it is supposedly the worst. "Tired of Midnight blue", "Can't stop thinkin about you", and omg..."Ooh Baby"...a song that should forever be a jazz/soul staple done by everyone. Harrison isn't the one to sing it...other artists, black artists really, hopefully will pick up on it one day...and give it the justice Harrison deserves for that song.

  17. b.... ....

George Harrison - master of the uplifting

  18. D.... O....

    truly an underrated song

  19. P.... R....

  25. R.... O....

    It's just so catchy!

  26. C.... G....

The 1st thing that came to mind- "Oh, I can't take another- heartache..."
Nick Lowe- "Cruel to be Kind".

  27. F.... L....

Music Critics used to say that The Beatles could've released an album with NOTHING ON IT, and it would've sold millions of copies, and I think that they were right!
I also believe that George Harrison could've/should've released EXTRA TEXTURE with this song, AND ONLY THIS SONG ("YOU"!) pressed on it as many times as possible AND I BELIEVE IT WOULD'VE SOLD MILLIONS OF COPIES!!
As an afterthought: SOMEONE FAMOUS should put out an album with ONLY 1 song on it, BUT, performed in different styles, different rhythms, so they fill the entire release. ANYONE AGREE? WHO SHOULD DO IT? WHAT SONG WOULD YOU WANT TO BE ON IT? JUST CURIOUS!?!?

  28. A.... C....

    Happiness contained in a song

  29. G.... G....

Great song...Beatles plus Phil Spector plus Clarence Clemons / Bruce Springsteen style !!!!!!!

George is best solo Beatle!! What a music!!

  42. J.... M....

    😍😘💗💟💖💕😢😭

  43. F.... L....

SIMPLE SONG; ALMOST IMMATURE! SIMPLE LYRICS, THAT ALMOST SAY NOTHING! LIKE A SONGWRITERS FIRST ATTEMPT AT WRITING A SONG! NO COMPLEX WORDS; NO HIDDEN MEANINGS! NO COMPLEX CHORDS, OR CHORD PROGRESSIONS!
YET, OR, IN SPITE OF ALL THAT, IT SAYS SOOOOOO MUCH; IT ROCKS INFINITELY! IT IS LIKE DA VINCI'S "MONA LISA" BEING DONE ENTIRELY WITH COLOR CRAYONS, AND BEING THE MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR MASTERPIECE THAT THE ORIGINAL IS!!!!! IT'S AWESOME; AWE-INSPIRING; A MASTERPIECE FROM A GENIUS!!!! The comment another person made, about how this song DIDN'T make it to #1, while GOT MY MIND SET ON YOU did, IS the way I feel about that, also: IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL! LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  44. D.... J....

Reminds me of what is life

  45. M.... I....

    Facsimile, out mile ;

  46. C.... M....

Very nice! Makes you think of young summer love.

  47. T.... H....

I was probably three. later I discovered this song, can it get any better then this........

  48. L.... R....

Should have been a top 10..great song

  49. D.... ....

Ohhh my god, it sounds horrifying if played way too slow. 😳

  50. G.... D....

    Awesome-one of Harri Georgeson's best

  51. j.... r....

the lyrics and vocals really suck on this one. The music though is very good.

  52. P.... A....

I thought this album was weak. After All Things Must Pass he didn't make another great album until Cloud Nine. Usually largely filler, and many tracks went on too long. Of course, just my humble opinion.

  53. N.... ....

that wall of sound...hits you...like a brick wall

  54. t.... l....

    Wow... that's so powerful

  55. R.... D....

    George Harrison.

  56. G.... R....

I bought this single. Great song. Also check out "Gone" by the Pete Best Band. Great song from the original Beatle.

  57. O.... ....

It's amazing how climax is reached when You escalates to You love me, and I escalates to I love you!
No story needed. I love you, You love me, is all it takes in life.

  58. T.... J....

    dreadful

  59. D.... B....

Have to use the LOOP today on this one!

  60. S.... O....

Love this song and His Name is Legs

  61. c.... f....

All are betles songs...for ever...I love you George.

  62. E.... C....

Great song.... Love is what this is about and you can feel it.... TRUTH..

  63. A.... F....

Love this by George Harrison every word to my partner love you Wendy more then words can say love you Darling xxxxxxxc

  64. j.... ....

George Harrison's solo material is simple music his songs like You  My Sweet Lord and What is Life and many more have more of a pop oriented sound.

  65. M.... S....

My favorite George song when I was courting my soon to be wife in 1976.,❤

  66. P.... K....

I got this in 1975 in my second year of college, knowing it was the end of APPLE Records (BeaTles fan!). It was FABulous seeing George's humorous take on the whole matter on the "Apple-Core" Apple label...halfway eaten!

  67. P.... K....

    1970?
    I....had....no.....idea. NONE!!!
    Wow.........!

    P.... K....

great backstory on this song, good catch Peter! :)

  68. H.... ....

Wow, great riff! Good old George 😎

  69. t.... ....

david foster, jim horn, leon russell, jim keltner, carl radle, ronnie spector?, gary wright all star lineup...always loved this song!

  70. l.... k....

I believe George Harrison is the best from other 3 the beatles

  71. L.... F....

You - Probably George Harrison‘s most underrated songs of all time

    L.... F....

I agree Lee, but I am pulled by his later songs like "Life Itself", and many others...

    L.... F....

This is a song that deserves more exposure bc it sounds like the kind of track that would have been a huge hit.

  72. J.... M....

In my dreams George is singing this to me😍😍😍💋

  73. K.... K....

This is a song about Claptons afair with his woman,so the strain in his voice is understandable and mkes the song passionate and timeless

    K.... K....

    What affair? They switched wives.

    K.... K....

Ken, I think that there may be a number of references to George's (broken) marriage to Pattie Boyd on this album (notably on side two). At the time of the release, I recall reading reviews that suggested this was the case ("Grey Cloudy Lies", "Tired of Midnight Blues", "The Answer's At the End" etc.). And because of this, the limited amount of instrumentation on the album contributed to the (melancholy) mood. However, "You" is a bit of anomaly in this regard. It uses a backing track from 1971 recorded with Phil Spector for his (Phil's) wife Ronnie Spector. When George resurrected the song in 1974/5, he kept the same backing track. On recording the vocal track, he realised that the key was too high for him (as it had been produced with Ronnie Spector in mind), but persisted with it like that anyway. Hence the "strain" that you have picked up. Anyway, your comment is an interesting one and, coincidentally, fits rather well with what must have been happening in George's life at the time. If I recall correctly, George released another song originally recorded for Ronnie Spector in 1971. You can find it on "Living In the Material World" (1973). It's called "Try Some, Buy Some". I think it was intended to be an anti-drugs song and appears to have been covered by David Bowie. You get that famous "Wall of Sound" on this one for sure and so could easily have slotted into "All Things Must Pass" (musically speaking). If you don't know this, give it a try (no pun intended). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZYtuaD0yhQ

  74. A.... M....

    My favorite music

  75. J.... ....

There's nothing simple about this arrangement at all, I don't know what people are talking about...

  76. P.... P....

I always thought it was so thrilling that George wrote and recorded a song about me.

  77. b.... ....

I was 5 when this song came out. It was written for Ronnie Spector but never got recorded so George dug this one up and recorded it himself. It written around 1970/71. That explains why the key is so high.

  78. J.... L....

WAYS MY FAVORITE SONG IN HISTORY. aND NONE OF MY FRIENDS CAN FIGURE OUT WHY. THE SYCOPATION OF THE GUITAR/BASS WITH THE DRUMS AND THE SAX OVERTONES JUST BLOWS EVERYTHING OUT OF THE WATER!.

  79. J.... L....

Could have easily been a Beatle song from George. Great work. Reeks of that Beatle melodic energy.

  80. m.... ....

GREAT TUNE , GREAT HOOK BY ONE OF THE GREATS...

  81. P.... ....

I was 10 years old when this album came out. I would go into Grants, A local dept store and pull it out of the bin and beg my mom to buy it for me. Never convinced her. I heard the album for the first time tonight. Thanks for posting.

    P.... ....

    Grant's... nice😎

    P.... ....

I can realte to the story..but once you had a job-couldn't you have gone out and finally gotten it yourself--like about 30 years ago?

  82. i.... m....

what awful production poor George.A great song wasted and drenched in overblown bombast. Not to mention my dislike of sax

    i.... m....

turn your hearing aid on.........awful my ass

  83. P.... H....

Lovely song George is my favourite Beatle xox

  84. M.... K....

    imádom

  85. R.... N....

This was always my favourite off the album(have the CD),when you're drowning you yell for help and 'You' just gets right to the point.

  86. d.... ....

How can you not love this song with the wailing sax?

    d.... ....

Never mind the sax...what about the piano at the end...transcendent

  87. P.... M....

Puro sentimiento y de complemento el saxo que acompaña muy bien a nuestro querido George.

  88. M.... K....

    nekem ez tettszik

  89. C.... W....

It is a very catchy tune, but George doesn't have the vocal range for it.

  90. H.... ....

Brilliant, George, brilliant! We deeply miss you.

  91. G.... S....

Lembra-me, igualmente, essa linda música, meu radinho e a Rádio Tamandaré do Recife(PE)!!!

  92. G.... S....
