George Harrison - That Is All Lyrics

That is all I want to say
Our love could save the day
That is all I'm waiting for
To try to love you more -

- and that is all I want to do
To get right next to you
That is all I'm living for,
Your love and nothing more
And that is all

Times I find it hard to say
With useless words getting in my way
Silence often says much more
Than trying to say what's been
said before.

That is all I want from you
A smile when I feel blue

That is all I'm waiting for
Your love and nothing more

And that is all

Silence often says much more
Than trying to say what's been
said before.
But that is all I want to do
To give my love to you
That is all I'm living for,
Please let me love you more - and
that is all

It looks like he's crying while singing, George always gave himself for the music, beautiful song

  9. R.... B....

george's music, the best of it, holds up very well. Especially as one grows older/

    R.... B....

In fact, it comforts you for a lifetime. Something that the work of very few artists can do.

  10. G.... C....

Try to say what has been said before. That is all.

  11. a.... o....

George is the most beautiful man and a gorgeous smile 😍😘. He will always be my favorite Beatle for the rest of my life. Wish I could meet the younger George in person so badly😔. I am a 20 year old girl and fell in love with George ever since I was 12 years old. Love you lots George RIP 😔

    G.... D....

I know the feeling. I'm a 58 year old man and fell in love with George when I was 7. He's never gone out of fashion for me.
A George tribute of mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2K6fmYVbw-I

  20. G.... K....

    Great album.I had on LP.

  21. S.... T....

Dont listen to the crappy comments here about the vocals. This is awesome.

    S.... T....

The vocal is in fact part and parcel of what makes this song a masterpiece of art.

  22. S.... T....

Incidentally I like your songs KURIKO.Why not listen to mine?

  23. R.... P....

How he could come up with the astonishing array of songs he wrote and perfumed in All Things and Material World (within a year or two of one another) is mind boggling. Its like he saved up several lifetimes of music until the right time cam along to do the solo work.

    R.... P....

Didn't he say on camera that he had "hundreds" of songs waiting while he was with the Beatles?

  24. T.... L....

    WONDERFUL SONG!!!!

  25. D.... H....

    Beautiful Song.. thanks George H

  26. G.... ....

    what a song... <3

  27. J.... H....

    that is all

  28. G.... ....

Thank goodness this is as good as it is. I've been spoiled for 38 years by Harry Nilsson's version, and he was possibly the best singer in the world. George himself sounds just fine on the original.

  29. R.... A....

    "Silence often says much more
Than trying to say what's been
    said before."

I decided to use these lines for my senior quote

  32. a.... c....

"That Is All", G. Harrison last beautiful song on his on, what many critics say, is one of his most solid albums, Living In The Material World, besides "All Things. "That is all I want to say, our LOVE could save the day; times I find it hard to say, usless words only getting in the way, silence always says much more, than trying to say what's been said before." https://youtu.be/a2GAsnHeW5c

  33. M.... ....

    Brillant song!

  34. O.... D....

Makes me wanna grow my hair out

    O.... D....

I actually just tried to do that very thing and the results were less than impressive!

  35. k.... ....

one of the best albums ever recorded in the history of recorded albums ever.

    k.... ....

    Good grammering

    k.... ....

Might want to read that comment out loud

    k.... ....

kurikokaleidoscope Pretty proud that this album was the very 1st album I ever purchased way back in early 70s! And it is easily the best as well!

    k.... ....

    His best.

    k.... ....

All Things Must Pass is his masterpiece..

  36. M.... L....

    A GREAT SONG ..

  37. O.... F....

    beautiful man he was.

  38. E.... P....

    This song is BRILLIANT!

    E.... P....

A sincere, heartfelt prayer to the Lord

    E.... P....

    Yep. Few know it.

  39. a.... ....

You are both crazy. This key is perfect for George's voice and being such a perfectionist, I'm sure this song came out exactly as he intended it to.

  40. L.... L....

George was an awesome songwriter and could have had a smashing post-Beatles career if he had taken professional advice for his albums, instead of doing it all by himself. External producers are important. Think of George Martin! Yes, George did a few ill-advised choices that damaged his career. The recording of Dark Horse and touring in those conditions proved to be fatal, notwithstanding his amazing talent.

    L.... L....

I think he was not interested in having a "smashing" career after The Beatles so that could explain why he decided to produce himself most of his albums and record them with his friends.

    L.... L....

First no.1 beatle solo album. First ex beatle no.1 single. Concert for Bangladesh. Then this masterpiece of spirituality. The production is just great dude. He didn't need professional help for any of his soulful music. Someone else would of destroyed it. In the end only Jeff lynne and his son Dhani could bring his Brainwashed solo album to life properly. Another producer would have ruined it.

  41. L.... L....

His voice dropped a few tones after the Beatles, as he said (see his presentation of "You" on Extra Texture available on youtube. I daresay it just got weaker because of his excesses in the period 70-74...a shame really.

  42. L.... L....

True, this song like "Who can see it" is wonderful, but not meant for his vocal range who had lowered a few tones after the Beatles - as he said himself. It should've been sung by one such as Freddie Mercury. Great songwriters such as George, in these cases give their songs away not to spoil the piece.

  43. R.... A....

This song is like a poetry... All my life and things pass on my mind!

  44. a.... ....

Actually, George did most of the middle harmonies. John usually did the lower and Paul did the highest ones. There are a few instances where George did do the high harmonies, but it was rare. That being said, George had a very beautiful and sort of effortless higher register that he used very effectively.

  45. p.... d....

nothing left to say you said it all george

  46. E.... A....

Happy 70th, George, once & future favorite Beatle.

  47. h.... ....

Hace 11 años te fuiste george we miss you

  48. A.... N....

Well, you're both right technically. Living In The Material World was his second *proper* studio album after ATMP, but could also be counted as his third since the Concert For Bangladesh was between both releases. "That Is All"

  49. D.... P....

There are some of us singers that need to be in the upper range. Singing lower does not bring out our natural voices. George could not sing low, well, and in the Beatles, he did all of the really high three part stuff.

  50. r.... ....

heard this for the first time tonight!! OMG
im a huge beatle fan and sorry I never came across this

  51. P.... B....

George singing to the Lord...so beautiful and moving.

@deandrebattisti Hey, it's George Harrison, and as long as his music exists I really don't want to get into an argument about what album it is or isn't on. I just read a bio that said it was his second after All Things Must Pass, but if it isn't, whatever; just more music to enjoy, ya know

  58. d.... ....

@dogluver2398 @talypollywaly no, it's correct. 5th album if you include the Bangladesh concert. if not, it is his 4th. he released two solo projects when still with the Beatles. Wonderwall Music in '68 , and Electronic Sound in '69.

  59. d.... ....

Thought this was the second album? Anyway, love this song, love George, R.I.P., miss you forever

  60. i.... ....

Thank you, that really is melting

  61. J.... G....

glad to be the first one to congrat you ( again ) for your job of memory. Another milestone in honour of the great and regretted artist George was.
