Gene Watson - I've Been Down Some Roads Lyrics
The cracks that run across the wall and fall down to the floor
Are something in this hotel room they aren't charging for
But I've paid the price for what they meant to me I've been down some roads
For the wall looks like a roadmap and a picture of my life
I spit the seeds and threw away the rind I've been down some roads
And late at night it comes to mind forgotten times and places
Names no longer cross my mind I still recall their faces
And I bow my head and see the feet that somehow never slowed
I've been down some roads I've been down some roads
And I've been up some highways and I've been down some lows
Right now I'm feeling just as down as any man could go
At first the miles were kind but new they show I've been down some roads
And late at night it comes to mind
I've been down some roads I've been down some roads

I keep coming back to this one. I think it's my favorite country track.
You are so right.
That's our gene
CMA is trippin for not inducting him into H.O.F.

one of my favorite
Beautiful but sad .
My gosh, is there anything this man can't sing? And sing it so beautifully. Haven't heard this one before, but I love it as I do all the others. Love him
One of my favorite songs, and my very favorite singer! What a combination!!He most certainly should be in the
Country music Hall of Fame.
What a song!!! I love the phrasing, the thoughtfulness, the soft music and smoothe voice, the soulfness,. "forgotten times and places" . don't we all think like this from time to time????
This is another song I've never heard before. Thank you Margaret for this link. Gene sounds wonderful as always. This song may apply to many of us and bring up a few memories or so. It sounds a little sad but it does have the emotion that Gene always brings to his music. Thank you for posting this. - Paula
This is a great number. It is good to listen to all these numbers again. You have a great collection. Thanks a Million.
