Gary Numan - Strange Charm Lyrics
I don't know
I don't know
The dream was everything
I don't know
If it's all falling down.
I lose connection as they let me down
What you gonna think?
What you gonna do?
What you gonna say?
Are you gonna scream 'Oh no'?
What you gonna think?
What you gonna do?
What you gonna say?
(Strange charm)
Let the boys out
Let the boys out
And let the fun begin
Let the boys out
Let the boys out
And let the night come in.
We don't like it
We don't like it
We're from the factory and we've come to play.
Let the boys out.
You push too hard
You push too hard
Come closer and talk to me
You push too hard
You push too hard
D'you get the picture now?
You won't like it
You won't like it
We get impatient as the time runs out.
Let the boys out.

I’ve been to Egypt
I had all his records in 80 s rare ones
this album reminds me when I worked in a. record factory back in the 80s

Bloody brilliant! Even the worst songs aren't too bad after all these years. There's some amazing work on this album!
Haven’t listened to this album for years you forget just how brilliant this man is !
My name is ruin brought ME here :D
Thank you so much. Re-appreciating Gary Numan anew. Pioneer in so many ways.
Survival- Underrated, forgotten(why :/ ?) song. Absolutely brilliant! The best Gary's instrumental ever.
Looking for a Numan song which has a Year as the song title.. like.. 1956 etc
Might be The 1930s Rust from I, Assasin?
Or Fadeout 1930
Worst case scenario the prince cover 1999
One of my favorite numan albums, it is so underated and a hidden gem, it is defo up their on my list of fav numan albums
The after Telekon period is what happens when music industry takes control over what must be published. This is a human telling an alien what, how and when to say. Earlier works was the alien on his own. The album Pure marks the alien taking complete control again
Unless he was on showing how crappy was the music people asked for at the moment, jus like Devo did in "Oh no, it´s Devo!"
"This is what you people like, endure! I mean, enjoy!"
oh yeah because the 9+ minute songs on Dance are sooo commercial. Those music industry execs sure got to him.
DrDodo the very experimental dance album is pretty good imo but I can see why people didn't like it after telekon. berserker and I assassin are solid for the most part, I find warriors to be boring. but the fury- machine and soul is straight downhill, sacrifice marks when he starts making the music he wants to make again
pour éli : my breathing + the sleeproom + I can't stop + this is love
great album
Same non-issue Bowie had in the 1980's which was that there wasn't a problem! His & Numan's 80's fare is good...
Underrated.

it says Time to Die is a bonus track. it was on the album when I bought it in 1986. sounds like it should have been on the Fury
You must have had the cassette release, even then it was a bonus track as the vinyl release didn't have it. We had to wait until 1999 to get it on CD with the rest of the album.
Design your own Disease tha numbers disorder with the new disease you d out u spell it better than me shiitttg..
2017 No Defiance. No Secu rity Kno assurance oh its just me..
Hey punk the Obscurity is Back I miss dat Guy Kraftwerk or no..
I am a very big fan of GN, but not of the 1985-1992 period. Omg, i don't like these drums beating like hammers or whips, these metallic synthetic bass lines, these female sugary choruses, this boring saxophone everywhere, these guitars hard rock solos. It's not the GN real style, it's a hybrid, it's a confusion without an inspiration. It's an imitation of funky and soul music without funky energy and without soul. Only from time to time i notice some good musical passages.

On the contrary. This era 79 to 86 was his best period. Later on twords his industrial era he sounded like NIN which is ok but it wasn't Numan. He got bored with his new wave image and decided to sound like NIN or Ministry. I liked his new wave period much better. You could hear his growth from album to album. This stuff is priceless.
Unacceptable .. Today..
ZShadowrun Unencluded
Ouch..
Wit out a publisher..
'Time To Die'
Wow! What a song to have as just an 'extra' track!? A bonus indeed!!
I comment with no Lies
Imbecillie 7It never rains Famile Fragile
So freaking good!!!
I love it so much! I love how his sound evolved through the 80s.
My Breathing is such a highly underrated song!! :)
I bought this on vinyl on its release in 1986. My first thought about this track was "Great song. Why didn't he spend more than two minutes on the drum programming? It's one bar repeated for the whole track." Still, what do I know?
Great song
Love it ❤️❤️
had completely forgotten this track until the recent gigs - cant stop listening to it now 20+ years on
"My Breathing" reminds me of Kate Bush's "Under Ice" from 1985 with the synth.
Best album from 1986
berserker and my breathing are same! same music...
Have you lost your mind?
Have you lost your mind?
Any chance "Faces" could be uploaded on its own pls, my vinyl to mp3 deck is bust
one of my favourites... take me back 😀
My Breathing sounds like an imperial march!
'My Breathing' is *the* imperial march!
Could listen to my breathing all day, brilliant Numanx
"New Thing From London Town" = Proto-Industrial
This album reminds me of London England where I first bought the cassette.
The cool bonus tracks weren't included.
Gary's voice would have been soothing during/after the Hot Mistasax.
The intro on My Breathing is amazing. Only Numan could do this, so dark so cool. Great album.
Very blade runner and very amazing
I'm back im proven i'm back and i'm strong fantastic lyrics
Todo un maestro
¡Estoy de acuerdo!
Exacto blue
Muy de acuerdo
Not his best but still good
The Best and Splendid Gary Numan Studio Album
Joey Ramone's German cousin.
+Multiple Personalities Who are you referring to? Numan is actually British.
Hah, dry!
+mrsdevilurumi could you upload The Plan or Tubeway Army album if possible
I wish I could upload it on Youtube but Beggars Banquet are blocking anything Numan related from 1978 to 1983. If you really wish to listen to it, I also have a Rutube channel with the blue album and Telekon here: https://rutube.ru/video/person/1112173/
this track(my breathing) takes me straight back to Luxor in Egypt.1986 looking over the rooftops from a hotel room.listening to the Arabic style solo near the end of the track...very evocative, will always remember it :0) always been a fan.of GN always will be
Eerily similar, in some respects, to the Vangelis theme.
+Lenny Kopecky My confession... I'll steal anything in sight or sound... ;-P
This album would fit rather nicely in the "Blade Runner" Universe.
+Lenny Kopecky A lot of his music references "Blade Runner."
yes, not just this album, most of Gary Numan's early works actually makes me think of Blade Runner ... he's a great representation of sci fi in the music form, its all about cyberpunk, 80s synthwave etc ...
Yeah Blade Runner comes to mind, at least with this stuff. His earlier stuff reminds me of H.R. Giger the most though.
"New thing from London Town" is my favourite. Amazing synth-bass.
+enzoaveroldi it really is fantastic. woulda (and shoulda) been a hit single had it not been for the disdain for numan that was all too prominent
One of his best 80's tunes no doubt. The drum interplay in the beginning and throughout the song is a precursor to the beginnings of the Industrial sound. The bonus tracks here are great too, they should have been in place of some of the other songs on the album, would have been a solid release.
Reminds me of an opener to an 80s horror movie. I'm a horror nerd. Nevertheless a great song.
Gary Numan is a *god* of rock.
Thank you so much for this upload.
+caronja70 You're welcome!
