Gary Numan - Cold Lyrics

So here we are, that place again
Where the light just bleeds away from you
So here we are, so suddenly
Are your words so hard to find
Do the lies you told seem shameful

And you feel so cold
And you feel so cold

I've seen you cry your tears but for who
And I've seen you lost in thought, where do you go
I've seen you forget I'm still here and so
I've seen you, everything that you've tried to keep from me
Truth, it was always far away

So here are, you turn again
And the path you tread is hard to find
So here are, at war again
And your choice is clear to see
And your war has left no place for me

And you feel so cold
And you feel so cold
And you feel so cold
And you feel so cold

I've seen you cry your tears but for who
And I've seen you lost in thought, where do you go
I've seen you forget I'm still here and so
I've seen you, everything that you've tried to keep from me
Truth, it was always far away

So here we are, I'm lost again

And I feel so cold
And I feel so cold
And you feel so cold
And you feel so cold
And you feel so cold

I've seen you cry your tears but for who
And I've seen you lost in thought, where do you go
And I've seen you forget I'm still here and so
I've seen you, everything that you've tried to keep from me
Truth, it was always far away

So here we are, I'm lost again

And I feel so cold
And I feel so cold
And I feel so cold
And I feel so cold

"We evolve when we know the truth" Isn't that right Gary!....Sounds like more bullshit to me.

WTF is with alll the old people in the crowds tho!! Young people dont like his new sounds? WTF?

I did not have to joining to get the light that was gifted to me!! And now I am suppose to speak of this and spread this light.. Just touch the right artifact and follow the path that falls before your feet!!

This is not to say anything bad about FM. I just found the light in a stone and followed it. Some call me crazy, Others will know. The Sword I pulled from this stone was not as I expected to be!! Lesson One, IOI or 101, Dont print your ideas onto the future or messages just try to hear. Took 7 years for me to hear that my ears had listened to for years.. But I did not hear!!

Did the Mayan Ruling Class Time keepers use the holographic properties of water and literally harvest the terrifying screams of people cheering and booing above? creating a real hell in the under world. Xilbalba people.. You have to look at the ball court this is the place. My english translation of my vision is simple "Hey DumbAss Look Right Here."Took Me 7 years to figure this out yet so simple. Listen but I did not hear. How odd would it be that I would listen to the whispering galleries for 7 years yet never hear them? Now I am hearing them loud and clear my friends!! What was done to me when I touched that alter I can not undo, Which is why im on youtube making videos about Cymatics and pyramids instead of performing music on stage in Asia!! I am far from finished telling this story!! Egypt has not got shit on Chichen Itza!! Its that Ball Court that we have to look at!! I have so much more to tell but I keep it to my self till I am finished editing the footage I have and then I can break down this thing and tell you all about this!! Id rather We look at this. peer review if you will? The Creation of The Toxic Angel!!
Gary Newman Quote "we Live in a perfect zone where horrors of the past still linger!!" I feel that buddy!! I hear you there mate!!

  5. S.... B....

    Beautiful...

  6. f.... G....

that snare is like magic... it kinda warps a lil.. listen closely ... the lil nuances are what make synth so perfect for all music ... adds that perfection unavailable by organic nature... 💙

    f.... G....

it is a filter and a flanger

    f.... G....

    Waxing poetic are we?
    Lol

    f.... G....

Im loving the pick slides on the beginning of When The World Came Apart, That guitar abnd the pick slide as the guitar enteras the scene is just sickly,,

    Evolution At Its Finest.

  8. a.... m....

ive only got the standard version so i havent heard this or if i said....they both sound like they feel part of the album

  9. M.... ....

    MASTERPIECE !!! 🖤❤️🖤

    Hails from Serbia 👍🏻🇷🇸

  10. V.... B....

Not bad I think it could grow on me!

    V.... B....

As his music is inclined to do.
    Strange Charm did that.
    And Metal Rhythm
Such incredible albums but they literally required getting 'warmed up' o them.
    These two killler records (+)

  11. R.... t....

Best thing Mr Webb has done for many years. ‘My Name is Ruin’ is sumptuous.

  12. t.... k....

This is such a sub standard song. Not worthy of being a bonus track. So I pressed D for delete

    t.... k....

Ann Other how dare you resort to obscenities to articulate your disapproval. Perhaps work on that vocabulary of yours. Music will always be subjective.

    t.... k....

    Good we won't miss you

    t.... k....

    Good riddance tadhg

    t.... k....

    Delete yourself

    t.... k....

tadhg kilcummins -u prolly press “delete” a lot....sounds like it...bcareful...u might miss sommit important and can’t get it back, no “retrieve” wit some things.

  13. F.... L....

I need this in flac, big time!

  14. L.... S....

This is an excellent track. Just turn off the lights, lay back on your bed. Suitably place on your Sennheiser momentum’s 2.0 and lose yourself and listen. Don’t analyse just listen. Remember Gary doesn’t give a fuck what you think.

  15. P.... C....

    Brilliant, love it :-)

  16. b.... h....

i found this song quite enjoyable...

  17. t.... b....

....the show in Berlin 26.10.17 at Columbia Theater was fantastic

    Then help me
I think savage and splinter sorely lack.
Ive been an ultra devoted fan since 1979...

  18. J.... W....

I'm a huge Numan fan but this is bloody awful. Predictable chord progression, lazy lyrics and even lazier, slurry, yodeling vocals. Relying on 'world' instruments and big cathedral reverb to rescue a crap song doesn't work either. 2/10

    J.... W....

You are in a minority of one. x

    J.... W....

I'll admit the album does get kinda same-y as one is listening to it, and that one may be burnt out by the time one reaches the end because of this, however I think taking the songs on their own helps to enjoy them. In this regard, this is one of the songs I prefer on the album, even if the slight bit of guitar is produced almost entirely contra to my own preference in distortion.

As far as "predicatble" goes, I'll admit you're right, but tbh this album kinda makes me think "if Gary did NIN", and the brilliance of Trent is that he makes stuff that's so obvious it makes you kick yourself that you didn't think of it. Still, one man's meat is another man's gravy as they say.

EDIT: Lyrically I've never rated Gary to begin with, so I'll keep myself out of that argument and go read some Ellefsen instead.

    J.... W....

James Williams, then go piss off elsewhere, nobody cares what you like. Bye bye clown.

    J.... W....

BANG ! You nailed it in one mate....A clear case of ...Big production over melody construction...Pass the auto tuner ! @Monolith Preacher

    J.... W....

James Williams -I don’t understand the dissection of the “craft” of the song. As a non-musician, no understanding of sheet music nor play any instrument. I find this song very moving. I like the “lazy” lyrics, and slurry yodeling. Might b crap in ur eyes but 2 others it “speaks to them”, as it does me

  19. P.... C....

This is a real quirky sort of gem: not really a ballad, it's sort-of Western alt-pop blended with 'Eastern' atmospherics with a nice, clear vocal. *Pity he only considered it worthy as a Bonus Track!

    P.... C....

Who has better melodic vocals than GN? Peter Steel? hes dead bro!! I heard a guy yesterday that tripped me out but GM has taught me so much about vocals and being a music device!! That vibrates it through me and like a demonic medium? it just flows baby!!

  20. P.... C....

Going to see him in Glasgow tonight. 😀 can't wait

    P.... C....

Peter Cunningham he is one hell of a performer, i saw him live here in austin last weekend.
