I think this album was made during the Funkadelic split.... Who's a Funkadelic? is a 1992 CD re-release of the 1981 album recorded by original Parliament members Fuzzy Haskins, Calvin Simon, and Grady Thomas, who left the P-Funk fold in the late '70s and later recorded Connections & Disconnections with no help from George Clinton. Though the trio spends most of the album criticizing Clinton's shifty business practices (which may be quite valid), the only thing that comes through is how much they need his production expertise. Never quite terrible, Connections & Disconnections makes small claims at mediocrity on scattered tracks.

don johnson I ain't gonna say it's mediocre though. Maybe by societies standards, but these are some of the realest songs out there. Plunklords and you'll like it too are 2 songs that I think speak more truth than most of what George Clinton was putting out. It's just that this type of music is a little more like church music and isn't what the clubs were lookin to play. But this music really demonstrates the beneficial aspects of funk that I think George Clinton wasn't as much about

This album was a sleeper....Funk was transitioning with this one...vocals were on point...guitar funky and rocking as usual..my goodness......ON THE ONE!..you could hear it....feel it too......oh..lo!l..okay...getting ahead of myself..:)  a shame it did not catch on like the rest of the "Funkadelic'... connections & disconnections?....the bomb!

Thats nice to hear. I as well had the cd. I can imagine my age vs yours. I didnt know about it til 90s. What i found it had eric b and rakim sample. For i know you got soul intro. I found the original vinyl album 20 years ago. Im 45 now. But people knew the record was out.

It is easy to blame greed except it is never directed in the right direction. Greed for drugs is what led to the demise of P-Funk. Grady, Fuzzy, Calvin and later Ray, decided they rather spend thousands on their bills and children. Others had other attitudes concerning HOW to spend the money and made sure they made more by writing songs that did not require the efforts of the members who left.

SHIP- as in Mothership; FOOLS- as in The Funk Mob. CAPTAIN- as in George Clinton. "After seeing the world we lived in/ and what we could be giving/ we feel for you." I remember this album and it didn't include George Clinton! I bought it anyway and slowly I found out some of its members left the band. Politics,drugs,money,etc all got in the way of a supergroovalistic band. I hope either they got back together,one way or another. Good jam!

@networkingtoo I'm a big (HUGE!) p-funk fan, must have at least 40 p-funk lp's. And I nonetheless think 'The Electric Spanking of War Babies' is an excellent album. Funk gets stronger (both versions), Electro-cuties, the title track, that whole album is rocking. Only shame is they had to censor the original cover art, which is much better than the shambles found on the front of the album. Maybe not as good as 'One Nation Under A Groove', but then again, what is?

this album was okay not the best anti p funk album but it'll do on some cuts I can't tell if they're dissing clinton or saying we miss you anyway it sounds like they robbed clinton's stash of unreleased songs, and hooks it's like some relatives who stays in your house and they leave they take some shit that you don't need. anyway clinton said ya'll can have that shit I got some stuff that sound better.
