Franks, Michael - Somehow Our Love Survives Lyrics

When circumstance divides us, I always close my eyes
My thoughts retrace the image of your face
Somehow our love survives
Now we're in our prime and it's once upon a time
Paper lanterns in the trees
The photograph is framed
But the feeling's still the same
I'm there for you and you're always there for me

After the hero stumbles
After the lady cries
After the fortress tumbles
Somehow our love survives

Each time we touch each other the chemistry revives
Each kiss contains an energy exchange
Somehow our love survives

Now we're in our prime and it's once upon a time
Paper lanterns in the trees
The photograph is framed
But the feeling's still the same
I'm there for you and you're always there for me

After the hero stumbles
After the lady cries
After the fortress tumbles
Somehow our love survives

After the hero stumbles
After the lady cries
After the fortress tumbles
Somehow our love survives

@OldskolFan Both versions are different but awesome in their own. Needles to say that Michael Franks and Al Jarreau are among my favorites performers. Al Jarreau version has a difference (that I know) "paper lanterns hanging in the trees" and Michael Franks "paper lanterns in the trees".

  8. O.... ....

    @OldskolFan "Jarreau" oops

I like this version too; Al jureau sang this on the Joe Sample "Spellbound" CD. This version is more mellow and moody--love it!
