Frank Sinatra - Yesterdays Lyrics
Yesterdays, Yesterdays, days I knew as happy sweet sequestered days
Olden days, golden days, days of mad romance and love
Then gay youth was mine, and truth was mine
Joyous free and flaming life forsooth was mine
Sad am I, glad am I, for today I'm dreaming of, of yesterdays
Sad am I, glad am I, for today I'm dreaming of, of yesterdays

Frank Sinatra Yesterdays Comments
Wait... So who cover who?
yesterday sometimes better than today 😚
"My way" as he was always singing
Yesterrrrrrrday
Grande Sinatra y grande The Beatles
Holy shit!
When your childhood is filled with sadness and deprivation, your teenage years one of longing and poverty, and early adulthood filled with doubt, failure and more poverty, losing out on the few experiences of love I have had, you really do start to understand this song...Wanting to live in a past that was better than the horrors of the present, wanting to go back to when things were filled with a sliver of happiness and joy rather then sadness and emptiness.
Kimberly....I do not know why you left but I adored you, and without even a phone call or a text you just casted me aside like I was nothing. I do not know what I did to lose your affection, if I ever had to begin with, but I deserve better then that.
henry smith it’s me Kimberly Henry I left you cause your dick is too small
When you gave frank one of the most beautiful and greatest songs of all time he could always nail it man I love you frank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bobLORsGLZw Yesterday- Live from Deckards apartment from Blade Runner - Clark Chimp
Francis Albert Sinatra
Not to bad for Ol' Blue eyes .. but no one can come close to the Beatles rendition.
Both are beautiful .
i just equally love this and the original version beatles is my fav band at the moment and frank is also my fave singer at the moment so its hard for me to choose so why not put both in my number 1?
Why frank you were my friend
Who wrote the lyrics ? Frank or the beatles ... I’m confused!
The song was written by Sir Paul McCartney. So The Beatles. This is a cover
The beatles song writing skills plus Franks voice = absolute musical perfection
Such a beautiful melody
How’s here to listen to the “I must’ve said something wrong”?🤣
You got me
neither sinatra or elvis say “I must’ve said something wrong” in their covers, maybe paul was wrong?
Dave M Marvin Gaye says it in his cover
@Harry Nolan ironically Marvin Gaye's cover is the one Paul likes the most...
shame on me! i didn't know Sinatra made this cover!
saaameee
Yup, came here from the Stephen Colbert Paul Mccartney interview
Same here lol
Ayy same
Same, Elvis cover next.
me too...lol
Me too. I had no idea it was covered so much. Checked out Elvis too.
*Makes it his own in fairness, powerful interpretation.*
*YesTURDay?*
Such a calming voice!
I really love Paul's version to this song, but I think Frank has something special and magic in his voice.
👍🇺🇦
Definitely a supreme version. Sinatra understood the essence and real meaning of the song . Adding to it all is Don Costa‘s marvellous orchestration. Soul music! 😉
Beautiful
Allah lk in armo
God bless your soul. Everybody can understand these sentence now..aurevoir Papa
I prefer the Beatles version, but I prefer Frank over the Beatles period. I know for a fact if Sinatra sang this when he was younger it would topple the billboard
Frank did this song his way....its a truly great version that only Frank could deliver.
The Beatles + Frank = 💕💕
That makes me sad!
Hmmm... never expected Frank Sinatra to like the Beatles. Interesting.
Yesterday is an undeniable masterpiece
I didn’t realize frank sinatra was so good looking 😍
He had them blue eyes
I may have lost contact with the woman of my dreams....And I just NOW understand this song...Wanting NOTHING more then to return to the joy of yesterday, to live within the the walls of of the bubble of happiness that has long since popped, never again to reform...
FUCK MEEEEEEEE OH THE LORD HAS TAKEN MY SOLE AND RAN AWAY WITH IT AND THE RAN ALL THE WAY TO THE BEATLES AND FRANK SANATRA I DIDN’T KNOW WETHER TO CRY OR TO SCREAM I NEED HELP OMG
Is this the worst cover ever?...
Possibly.
randy marsh why do u say that?
@Who Are You? to be honest I was grumpy when I posted this comment and the song was not what I thought it would be.
I was hoping for something a little more up beat.
Frank did it *his way* 😉😉😉
This version sounds like it could be in Mary Poppins
La voix
All covers are nice while Elvis' cover is AWESOME
Viktor Hartt 😂😂😂😂
@coololds85 Funny isn't it?
Elvis did it best THE KING
Reminds me of my ex
I prefer the Beatles´s version to this, but you have to give it to Frank. This is a very good version.
listen Ray Charles version, it's good too
Who is the "I" who prefers this version over that version? What is this "I" hearing?

Mr. Master - Plabo it’s siri
Two thumbs way up.
beautiful cover
A beautiful song that can have many inspirations and interpretations. Frank takes Paul's song and makes it all the more poignant from a different perspective. Much more rueful than lamenting because of the years gone by for the singer.
but it also brings more awe to me about how paul wrote it ate what, 21, 22? what an amazing songwriter

@[GD] Frezer exactement !!!!!!
This is Fucking Awesome!
Hate to say I laugh every time I hear yes-TERRR-day. Good otherwise
There's something so eery about Frank singing this.
I'm deeply sad now
well it's a sad song
Los yaky
I love The Beatles and I love Frank so listen to my opinion.
.
.
.
Both are goddamn amazing and whoever says one is better is mistaken because they're completely different styles and completely different voices so comparing them side by side just isn't possible. The Beatles is iconic and amazing and Frank's cover is loving and he truly cared about not screwing up the songs legacy but still making it his own. Frank did an amazing job covering this song and the Beatles did an amazing job making it (and singing) plus who wouldn't want more of this song. Both versions are equal
👏👏👏👏👏👏Like
Frank Sinatra is pretty good....for puking
Frank Sinatra has one of the most beautiful voices, but the actual MUSIC in the background isn't as good.
He is the king 🤴🏻
The best!!!!
😭😭😭
Written by a man starting out in life, this is the best version because it's sung by a man who knew he was coming to the end of his journey.
great song
great channel
Many Thanks......
Doge is that u on the computer ?
Excelente cover! Gracias
A great artist acknowledging a great band's song. Wow!
Great voice but sings it too slow.
Then do 1,25 lol
Not too different from the Matt Munro version.
🤦🏻♂️
Fezer do not play that at 1.25 speed
Just dont
Have you heard of easy listening
Still my favorite song by him
I don't know..?..etc...:)O(:...
reminds me of my late father..his fav song 😓😭
Lyd1A Lol u nob y ar u kryin, ur dad is alredy ded u fagot
Please spell right Setesh ok it’s not funny anymore!
Setesh what exactly is your problem?? 7ydia I’m sorry for your loss and it’s a beautiful song... one of my very favorites. And I’m sorry for stupid people who mock your grief. Ignore them if you can.
One cannot compare the Beatles and Sinatra, it's like comparing Cheesecake with Lindt, both are amazing, but at the right moment
Thank you!
R Mccauley the best chocolate in the world
I don’t know about that..
Whenever you compare, you lose. Both ways.
One can compare any two things that are different, it just sometimes isn't fair to compare them.
this song makes me cry
There is a really sad song on George Harrison's Cloud 9, I just can't remember the name.
That violin...that voice.

Franck admirava Matt. Matt foi o melhor cantor britânico. Certa vez
Franck disse que se Matt tivesse nascido na América teria sido um gigante e que êle tinha que treinar muito para cantar como Matt Ouça também Walk Way, Born Free, Stranger in the nigth, Mona Lisa e outras
Jonathas Santos WHAT what lolsぺあけんglksh
The mafioso of music!
Jason Batz gracias
Yesterday es de Paul mccartney!
@LIBER MONSALVE Que? Eres tonto?
I prefere Paul
Matt é considerado o maior cantor da Grâ-Bretanha, Ouça tambem From Russia with love, Autumn leaves, This is the life, May way, stranger in the nigth. on day like these e outras.
I prefer serge
I think Geralto Karabarapoifboum is waaaay better
Yup. I like this and it’s a respectful nod to Paul, but McCartney’s “version” of his own song is the most beautiful and meaningful in my mind.
es de the beatles
He sang it with a lot more soul than Paul, I have to say.
Oh my Gosh, again this mania of comparing. Of course Frank would put more soul, as he the maybe the best singer of all times. And Paul composed this song. so, why to depreciated that who wrote it? Both versions are beautiful, In fact, I prefer the arrangement with The Beatles. I do love that string quartet. But this is a special arrangement perfect for Frank style. This is one of the most recorded song ever around the world. Lots of them are quite beautiful because the song is beautiful.
WTF are you talking about? It was recorded in late 1968 or early 1969, which was almost 30 years before his death. He wasn't recording in 1996 anymore.
ClassicBoxing88 well considering Paul's was originally "scrambled eggs" I believe this is more emotional though I love Paul dearly
@Rae Smith Scrambled Eggs was only the working title as he couldn't figure out the words yet. That's why it was called that.
Nope... can’t beat Paul’s performing of his own song. He dreamed the melody and then put words to it that were inspired by his relationship with Jane Asher. Paul’s Yesterday is the most beautiful and meaningful version of this song in my humble opinion.
That's horrible...
MaccaLennonStarr Ikr
MaccaLennonStarr ah geez rick fuck you
What? I love this version, is calm and beautiful
Sinatra is my favorite singer, and the Beatles are my favorite band. Sinatra to me succeeded in making really good covers of both this and Something. They’re classical blues versions that are nothing alike, despite being the same song. Sinatra was a Beatles fan despite being vastly different to them. They aren’t very comparable because they’re so different.
Sorry Frank, still not even close to the Fab 4. Though the cheesiness of this particular song suited your style.
You're crazy
Yea I'm sure Frank would of cared about your opinion, and all the other people who love to compare art.
Fantástico, imortal

Made me weep on the very first line
Phrasing doesn't work - otherwise nice song
GET OUT OF MY CAR
Nice car 🚘
A nice version. At least Frank acknowleged the Beatles as the great song writers they were. Elvis saw them and their music as a huge threat to him and did everything he could to destroy them in the public eye.Even through his buddy tricky dick President Nixon. Elvis & Sinatra were GREAT performers but the Beatles not only performed and actually played but also wrote the classics. Beatles hands down !!
Ouça outas canções de MATT ; Born Free, Walk way, Sunrise sunset, Mona Lisa e outras
Sinatra saw Elvis as a threat and hated Elvis in the 50s. Frank even cover one of Elvis songs which was Love me tender. Elvis liked The Beatles but he definitely was worried that The Beatles were massively taking over his fame. However the beatles were huge elvis fans and elvis was their idol.
A REALLY GREAT version!!!Never heard him singing with soo much soul!
É a maior versão
Goosebumps. Love this.
Beautiful. Much sadder than the original. An older mans pain.
Lol it is not butiful u cant see it its sond lol
@Setesh r/youngpeopleyoutube
Sound can be beautiful too Setesh, and this is the example
But it shows how amazing a songwriter Paul is. To write this at at 21 is incredible
Best song to get drunk too
or "One more for the road". Better yet, have another and play both. Cheers!
GREAT ARRANGEMENT
true, but this Version isn't half bad. it IS just a cover remember.
Whoever thinks this is a better version than the beatles, may I give you some advise? Get your ears checked!!
Terry Forsyth get ur ears checked terry
@[GD] Frezer chill,He can have an opinion
I've never heard a song so beautifal in my life since Areosmith's "Don't Want to Miss One Thing." Thank you for uploading this song.
It takes a man like Frank Sinatra to polish and sing the songs of other song writers.
conner chalice anyone can dig a ditch, but it takes a real man to...
I love Sinatra,...but he never could've written a song like this......not even close.
@Jade Martin Nor could he have written any of his own hits. He didn't even write "My Way." No shade, but it's just true. Js.
I wish more people understood how special this is.
Sounds better with him than with the beatles!!! :S
You're crazy.
Not true, two different styles, both equally as good.
hiiijole
Well yeah, Paul is a fucking legend but Frank is one too and this is magnificent
Better, no. Just different
