Frank Sinatra - Why Try To Change Me Now? Lyrics
I'm sentimental, so I walk in the rain
I've got some habits even I can't explain
Could start for the corner, turn up in Spain
But why try to change me now?
Cigarette ashes, there they go on the floor
I'll go away weekends, leave my keys in the door
But why try to change me now?
Why can't I be more conventional?
People talk, people stare, so I try
But that's not for me, 'cause I can't see
My kind of crazy world go passing me by
So, let people wonder, let 'em laugh, let 'em frown
Don't you remember I was always your clown?
Why try to change me now?

I'm here cuz of Fiona Apple. A great timeless classic of a song. !!! Simply beautiful.
Fiona apple is really the only one that could cover this.... Frankie made a timeless piece
Would have been the perfect song for Joker. - Original Comment
“That’s life” was still a good fit tho
Yeah this sums up the life of the Arthur Fleck throughout the film.

I'm an old man and this is perfect just close you eyes and listen and remember
John Murphy I love Frank Sinatra songs. He is the best male singer ever. You can understand every word he sings. Not like these mush mouths sing now.
A class of its own--this piece of art !!
I prefer this version, it has such a melancholy sense of resignation to it. No One Cares is one of my favorite Sinatra records, but it's one that I have to be in the right mood to listen to. One of my ex-girlfriends hated when I listened to it, though, she thought it was too depressing. I like the Dylan version a lot too--and although they only met a handful of times, to hear Dylan tell it there seemed to have been a deep sense of connection between the two men.
How deep is the ocean
Hpw deep and solitary it is... True
i must admit though, although i'm a HUGE sinatra fan Fiona Apples version seems to bring it to a heart wrenching . emotional and incredible plateau. Please Frank. Take no offense- your version is wonderful.
Fair enough. We can agree to disagree.
I agree, I just discovered her rendition of it just a minute ago...and now i'm here. She's an amazing singer.
Great rendition both ways !!!! The two best I've come across for this song.
I've listened to 'tons' of versions of this lovely ballad, and my favorite always comes back to Eydie Gorme's version, with the great Don Costa's arrangement.
He’s dead
such wonderful songs that should stay and be appreciated forever
LINDA CANÇÃO E INTERPRETAÇÃO FANTÁSTICA DE SINATRA! (SÓ PODIA SER!!)
Listen and weep, Bob Dylan...
Just found the original No One Cares album at a record shop. This track is absolutely wonderful. Definitely a favorite of mine.
I definitely prefer this version. It has a melancholy tone to match the lyrics, which is missing from the first version.
This is an older man's song. Sinatra was too young first time round - it sounded too smooth and unlived. This is the better version. (It's also the best song on the Dylan album.)
@MichaelTravis3 I'm a Dylan fan. I love the track on his new album, and that brought me here. This is a wonderful performance.
@Patrick Kincaid
Dylan said in a recently published interview that there was only one Frank Sinatra. I certainly agree and am glad that he left us 2 wonderful versions of this great song.
+MichaelTravis3 Agreed. Pathos aplenty.
Astutely observed.
I must agree, this version has much more feeling to it!
Jonathan Schwartz (the jonathan channel - big American Songbook and Sinatra fan/expert) was on WNYC this morning discussing the new Dylan album, which is all covers (or as Bob said, uncovers) of Sinatra recordings. Jonathan likes the Dylan album by the way. Anyhow, Jonathan thinks this version is far superior to Sinatra's earlier, more bombastic version of this song on Columbia,.
There's nothing bombastic about the Columbia version. Frank's vocals are slightly more upbeat, and there's a somewhat brighter (but not bright) musical backing. You still hear a guy trying to convince someone he cares about to give him another chance, without hope it might happen. It's hardly John Philip Sousa.
Csodálatos ez a dal.
Köszönetel
Thanks for Old blue eyes song
