Frank Sinatra - This Love Of Mine Lyrics

This love of mine goes on and on,
Tho' life is empty since you have gone.
You're always on my mind, tho' out of sight
It's lonesome thru the day,
But oh! the night.

I cry my heart out it's bound to break,
Since nothing matters, let it break.
I ask the sun and the moon,
The stars that shine,
What's to become of it, this love of mine.

Frank Sinatra This Love Of Mine Comments
  1. T.... ....

This is one of the few songs Frank himself actually wrote.

    T.... ....

Yes Frank did write some of this song with my dad, Sol Parker, and Henry Sanicola who brought the song to Frank and later Frank made some changes to the lyrics and renamed the piece.

This song was covered by Jeff Fenholt : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJd7sYKw5lY

Thanks - I am so proud of my father's first attempt at writing songs.  I certainly thank Frank for recording it in such an incredibly way.

  4. m.... p....

good version of a classic but that song belongs to ray charles

  5. R.... G....

This is Frank at his peak - just listen to him!

  6. T.... ....

Pretty unique sound the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra had with the celeste used here and I'll Never Smile Again among others.

  7. B.... T....

    nobody can surpass his voice!

    B.... T....

    +Bambi Thumper No one ever.

  8. M.... F....

Pure magic! Sinatra made subsequent recordings of this sad romantic ballad, however I feel these do not compare with this original recording. Here his musical phrasing and story telling are absolutely superb.

Meredith - I agree with you completely and I am so glad you appreciate this rendition which was my father's first hit song  This version is so 1940's and warm .

  9. H.... ....

The Bobby-Soxer years?????  What a voice!!!!

  10. J.... L....

sinatra great with any song ----- arguing over who wrote a one off song silly ------ from the son of the publisher of this and many other songs of the era----

    J.... L....

as the son of one of the writers of This Love of Mine - your father did not publish this song - Artie Shaw's company did- where do you losers come from.

  11. b.... ....

Dominic - you come up with some really nutty statements- Henry Sanicola and Sol Parker wrote the initial song which was altered by Frank Sinatra - it was never in a contest - and we not you or your father had anything to do with it.  Sinatra changed the name to This Love of Mine from For Whom the Bell Tolls, and we have been collecting the royalties for 73 years - sorry your dad was an untalented loser - but I am sure you made up for it by achieving an MBA at Harvard. LOL

    b.... ....

Pardon me, I know you posted that 2 years ago but isn't it a little strange to be arguing about ownership of a song on Youtube like this? I mean, surely if this is all settled history, there would be no point.

So beautiful. Can't stop loving ol' Blue Eyes.

  13. b.... ....

My father, Sol Parker wrote this song with Frank and I think that this original recording is spectacular

    b.... ....

Sinatra added to the song after Sanicola and my dad wrote it- you idiot - you'll have to ask Artie Shaw who published it - LMAO - another plebe from a common ancestry,

    b.... ....

couldn't your loser uncle ever get a son published and recorded?

    b.... ....

now that I think of it - it's not your fault - your father was just a loser who lied to you - sorry you came from nothing

    b.... ....

    my dad wrote this song!

    b.... ....

Dominic = I'll take a large pie with mushrooms and sausage and make it fast.

  14. F.... D....

    La voz del milenio.
