Frank Sinatra - Pass Me By Lyrics
(Pass me by, pass me by, if you don't happen to like it, pass me by)
I got me ten fine toes to wiggle in the sand,
Lots of idle fingers snap to my command,
A loverly pair of heels that kick to beat the band,
Contemplating nature can be fascinating,
So tell the whole wide world, if you don't happen to like it,
Deal me out, thank you kindly, pass me by.
Pass me by, pass me by, if you don't happen to like it, pass me by.
[musical interlude]
(I got me ten fine toes to wiggle in the sand,)
(Lots of idle fingers snap to my command,)
(A loverly pair of heels that kick to beat the band,)
(Contemplating nature can be fascinating)
(So tell the whole wide world, if you don't happen to like it,)
(Deal me out, thank you kindly, pass me by.)
(Pass me by, pass me by, if you don't happen to like it, pass me by.)
Behold me two great shoes that never saw a shine,
Houses I could hold up with a laundry line.
A loverly patch that hide an awful lot of spine.
Shirtails flying, I'm a blooming dandelion.
Add to these, a grin from ear to ear, all the proper gear have I,
So tell the whole wide world, if you don't like the thought of it,
Bail me out, thank you kindly, pass me by.
Pass me by, pass me by, if you don't happen to like it, pass me by.
Pass me by, pass me by, if you don't happen to like it, pass me by.

Frank Sinatra Pass Me By Comments
Born in 1985, I have heard a lot of Frank Sinatra but I was not familiar with this song before Family Guy.
Peggy Lee version better.
What about 8 more verses?
Who here is NOT because of 'Family Guy,' but instead listened to your dad's cassette tape of this song in 1984, when you were 12 years old, and the song itself was 20+ years old.
Anytime I hear a song on family guy, I always assume it’s a reference to something I don’t understand. That’s how I found this
The arranger for Peggy Lee blows this away. Starts as a marching band, ends as a swing band. Great percussionist and tuba
amazing song, too bad i found this with family guy
You'll have to forgive me but what's Family Guy?
@James McEwan about the best animated series since 1999,it used this song's melody i norder to do a song called "thank the whites"
Old Blue Balls doing what he does best: taking someone else's stuff, and pretending it's his. Just like starring in 500 war movies while avoiding service at all costs.
Rubbish
He doesn't pretend like stuff's his-- he just owns it so well people end up thinking it's his
Who else is here because of Family Guy?
We saw your boobs
The master on a classy song...a perfect combination.
I didn't realize family guy did a parody this, I thought it was an original. Seth is a genius
Thank the Whites
THANK THE WHITES!
Mrs. Maisel brought me here.
How many Chicagoans of a certain age picture Bozo and Cooky singing this?
We gave you Eminem and Justin Bieber too

...Thank you for posting this...
H. A. double "R", I., G. A. N. spells "Harrigan"
This is from an original song was sung at the beginning of the film 1964 'Father Goose' staring Cary Grant. Peggy Lee and Frank Sinatra both recorded it after the film came out.
I've never heard this before. I knew the Family guy version, but I never heard the Frank Sinatra one. I would have loved to have heard this years ago. This may be the fourth best song Frank Sinatra did.
OH DEAR
Family Guy song Thank The Whites brought me here.
i knew who frank sinatra was, but still. same here.
Me three
I think about the song is equal with "Ne sois pas si bete", France Gal.
Well, Peggy Lee skipped the 2nd verse- shirt tails flying, etc.
All these years I though the line of lyrics was, "And enough, by gum, have I." I just realized it's, "And a mouth, by gum, have I." Was more familiar with Peggy Lee's rendition, and I certainly enjoyed hearing this one today!
Watch Father Goose. One of the classics.
This is definitely showing Sinatra's lighter side. Coming from the album Softly, As I Leave You. Amazing cover as usual Frank. Sinatra was the best, not even close. Unfortunately we don't get catchy songs like this anymore. It's the same ol' shit nowadays. The same ol' shit nowadays is: Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Eminem, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, Meek Mill, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi, Jason Derulo, One Direction, and Maroon 5. Time to trade in those people for the real artists of music: Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Bing Crosby, Elvis, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and Frank Zappa.
"You don't thank the Lord, you thank the whites!"
Came here for the same reason :D
@Metzengerstein so did I 😅
"Ass" is to "arse" as "darn" is to "damn", "heck" is to "hell", and so forth.
cause its an ass. Kiss it. See? :)
That's what the song is really saying - but why do you Americans say"Ass" when the word is "Arse", an Ass is an animal like a donkey
Because English is complicated nonsense. For example, the American accent (i,e, the basic shit from Cali and etc) happens to be the original accent from the colonies, which then means it had been the original British. Yw.
Digby Wolfe sang the original, and in my opinion, the best version - I have the original as an mp3 file which I'm getting converted to upload here on You Tube
Since it was a Reprise recording Frank chose it, he owned the company. Creative control is why he left Capitol, maybe he thought it would be a hit like "High hopes" and "Love and Marriage."
that is downright crazy, corny, yet kind of fun!
not one of his best
I read a quote by Sinatra that he would not sing a song if he didn't like the lyrics.
These lyrics are great and they describe the slacker character played by Cary Grant in the 1964 movie "Father Goose". It's one of my favorite movies about WWII.
Not a great song, but as always, a great performance in great voice.
