Frank Sinatra - Moonlight In Vermont Lyrics
Pennies in a stream
Falling leaves a sycamore
Moonlight in Vermont
Icy finger waves
Snowlight in Vermont
Telegraph cables, how they sing down the highway
And travel each bend in the road
People who meet in this romantic setting
Are so hypnotized by the lovely...
Evening summer breeze
Warbling of a meadowlark
Moonlight in Vermont
Telegraph cables, how they sing down the highway
And they travel each bend in the road
People who meet in this romantic setting
Are so hypnotized by the lovely...
Evening summer breeze
The warbling of a meadowlark
Moonlight in Vermont
Moonlight in Vermont

Reminds me of my mom. She was such a huge Sinatra fan. I f it wasn't for her, I would never have the appreciation for Frank that I now have. My grandfather had a camp in southern Vermont, and I remember my dad pointing out a spot in a stream where he said he proposed to my mother - this was after my mom had died. I treasure these memories.
Simply perfect!!!!!!!!
Oh.. that’s first note What a presence !
Linda Ronstadt made this even more beautiful on Sinatra's Duets 2 album.
Sooo Relaxing ❤️❤️❤️
Stay classy.
a truly masterful rendition, {with Ella unbeatable stuff}..franks vibrato just perfect..phrasing quite Sinatra unique.total clarity with the diction crystal clear!..he weaves in and out of the melody..tantalisingly so,.in his own inimitable style,,but somehow never losing the melody..abso awesome.if you want to hear a genius at his craft..look no further than this. ps and the orchestral arrangement/players aint half bad either!
I was born in 1967. Why is it that when hear this man's beautiful voice, I feel as if God put me in the wrong generation.
1966, Ditto.
I met Frank in Paris in 1956,singing walking down my rue as I sat on a corner watching German tanks, for a movie. He said" hey kid you got change for a hundred, then put it in my shirt pocket, I was 10.
I want to go to vermont to see the moonlight
One of my favorites, totally encapsulates the time and leaves you wishing the song was longer

Thank you for posting the lyrics as Sinatra sang them. Makes following along really a pleasure. :)
The first 1min hits my soul 😢
The best of the best. Nobody can even touch Mr. Frank Sinatra.
I already loved it when I heard Ella and Louis sing it, but this version really holds a special place in my heart...
THAT'S RIGHT THE MASCARA SNAKE. FAST AND BULBOUS.
Tôp das galáxias caralhooooooooo
Frank sang about many beautiful places in this country. He is amazing. What a talent 💜
Perfection 💗
The orchestra AND the voice...listening to this feels like being swept up on a cloud and drifting along!
So Relaxing 😍😍
I start listening to Frank like 10yrs ago and he's at the top of my favorite artists of all time along with 2pac and Buju
What are the notes to play moonlight in Vermont on my cello .
Captain Beefheart got a lot softer.
His voice is like smooth like melted butter
Our WWII & Baby Boomer predecessors were so blessed. They got to hear and see him live when he was in his prime. The Gen-X-ers and beyond were cheated out of one of greatest of all time.
My Mom heard him sing at the Paramount in Times Square in 1944. Boy did she play his records on the Hi-Fi when I was growing up! For me, Frank is the sound of the Sixties.
I listen to hip hop and meta; and this song still grabs my heart
That's the beauty of it.
I used to meet friends at a particular 'bar' on Amsterdam, every Friday evening, for beers and snacks and friendship. One week, having heard too much of the increasingly LOUD krap being blasted at us, I fed a bunch of money into the jukebox and selected frankfrankfrankfrankfrankfrank, over an hour's worth. The whole place relaxed, calmed down, didn't need to SHOUT at each other, and it was wonderful. The next Friday, we found the jukebox unplugged & krap being blasted at us again. They seem to think that making people deaf also makes them buy more booze.
I still think that a nice, relaxed tavern without TV or blasting garbage music can be successful. Someplace where you can have a few, eat some delicious simple food, enjoy your company without shouting, and feed a few quarters into the jukebox to hear Frankie and Bing and the Andrews Sisters, etc etc
The only successful popular lyric with no rhyming lines. There is, however a unique structure - it turns out the verses are in haiku form (an interesting choice for the time it was written)

Sinatra singing a great song about my home state is pretty great. They gotta play this song more as a representation of Vermont
I just watched Moonlight in Vermont - a Hallmark Movie. Derek and Fiona were dancing to this song - and the most romantic part was when Derek started singing along. Was Frank Sinatra's song used or another singer?
Thank you frank.....
it's not just about Frank, it's very much about the talent that surrounded him, and he knew that. Billy May's arrangement of the song is stunning, and the orchestra has top-notch musicians.
The recording itself is a great example of the clean, crisp miking and audio technology that made Capitol Records famous and #1 during the 1950s.
If you're really listening, this is not a boring song.
Jerry & Margie ♥️
Muy hermosa canción , la bailaría con mi mujer si estuviese viva
The most boring, but great at the same time, song about Vermont ever... perfect, it matches how boring Vermont really is... ever wonder why we brew such great beer, and grow such good produce?.. Boredom, pure boredom... Brewing and growing take time, and time, we got that in spades...
Incredible voice, incredible talent, but it's hard to separate the music from the man.
❤️❤️❤️

WOW that was beautiful.
This is such a wonderful song, loved it in Baby Boom film
This tune soothes me to no end. It's like a warm bath for my ears. It's the musical equivalent of flannel pajamas.
Doc Lefty im wearing flannel pajamas and I strongly agree
Such a dreamy and relaxing voice! One of my absolutely favorite songs.

@Brattleboro?
Frank is missed..adore his singing..such feeling!!
Simply Perfect!!!!!!!!!
love Franks voice!!💝
Beautiful, although the lyric does not rhyme...
That's the point. It's written in haiku, which is amazing. The fact that there is no rhyme scheme yet is still beautiful lyrically makes this song a treasure.
Sinatra's "Hotel California".
What do you mean by this?
The Master.
Me encanta ❤
I often listen to this song before bed. It makes me dream of my future summer home in VT. Let’s just hope i make it.
I was born in Vermont, in Burlington. My father was in the Air Force. Only lived there for six months. I'm grew up in AZ and CA. I went to Vermont 13 years ago for my 50th birthday and just fell in love. I want so much to live there. I hope you make it...I doubt if I will. But I will continue to listen to this marvelous song.
Did you make it?
TE VOICE,,,THE BIG VOICE, THE BEST OF ALL.
Reminds me of the music my father used to play for my mother, so beautiful!

...My mistake..."a sycamore" is correct...
'Dreamlike'.....
Grew up listening to 60s and 70s rock what happened to me 😊
Like me, same picture, same time. I too heard Frank Sinatra, Joe Williams, Billy Eckstein, and the list goes on. What happened to you, same with me. We woke up to Frank & Co. and the best arrangers in the Orchestral era. M.
Frankie sends me
Frankie ftw
Frankie ftw
Frankie ftw
this has become one of favorite Frank Sinatra songs!!💝
my favorite version..by frank..the best!
Frank, the best. Forever.
When Frank Sinatra starts playing and suddenly everyone in the squad is now Frank Sinatra for the next three minutes.
Such a beautiful song and the chairman sings it with class, of course.
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard by Frank. The orchestration, and strings are phenomenal, so romantic and hauntingly beautiful. Of course, Frank's voice is deep, rich, mesmerizing. His voice was at his peak as he got older in his 40's & 50's, with a huskiness & sound that could not be mistaken. Simply sensational Sinatra. I wish so badly I could have seen him in concert and had the opportunity to have met this talented, phenomenal, (and dont forget sexy) man.
Listening to this in South Royalton, Vermont.
Perfect.
If only Vermont was actually this nice
CMDsquared it is wtf r u talking about don't shit on us
Your a little fuck, you know that? Us Vermonters are the best of the American people. May the Vermont Republic rise again!
I love vermont .love those grern mountains on summer. and the winter the best season in my opinion
Yeah Frank!!
still love frank..!!
I think part of the genius of Frank is that the big brass band did not overpower him, nor did he overpower the orchestra ..... awesome balance .... not trying to impress you with his voice .... just relaying the meaning and feeling of the song!
@BardCoennius Careful Bard, almost sounds like your making a dig at Ambassador Satch/Satchmo/Pops.
Class my man Class 🇫🇷 .
@BardCoennius That's why Frank is called the CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD.
You know, a lot of that is thanks to whom ever mixed and mastered his recordings. So yea what a genius whom ever produced Sinatra (too lazy to google it) sounds like he produced ray charles too.
@Viento Ritmico
I think you want TIM TIME OAK CREEK brother. Although I agree with you Andre Cartier 🇫🇷.
Deeply beautiful ! No one could phrase words like Sinatra.
my new favorite song
Possibly the best song ever composed.
I love this song, who else better to do it than Frankie. Nelson Riddle on this too right?
I love this recording. Perfection!
I LITERALLY GREW UP LISTENING TO & LOVING FRANKS VOICE...THRU "HAPPY" TIMES & "SAD" TIMES,HE ACCENTUATED THOSE MOMENTS FOR ME...WE SHARED MANY AN "PRIVATE" MOMENT TOGETHER...AND YES WE STILL DO. :-) :-) JUST SAYING
My favorite Sinatra tune.
The orchestral arrangement is as incredible as Frank's voice.
That orchestra ugh is just so unbelievable. Words can't describe how beautiful this song is and it perfectly encompasses sinatras throaty fluttering voice.
Listen to Georgia on my Mind by Ray Charles
Incredible song. Beautiful melody, great lyrics, but no rhymes.
He's the king of the Northern New Jersey sound. And one of my favorite baritone singers ever.
perfect!!!
invokes nostalgia, love it!!
Pretty good, but Ella does it better.
but the orchestra is beautiful, its impeccable. the richness and the sweeping cello and violins are amazing.
Best finessing out there. Sinatra made this song great.
ella Fitz and louie do a wonderful rendition as well... her phrasing and vocal finesse is absolutely impeccable. They are both amazing versions.
although, I love how he brings it up a whole step in this one. a great dynamic.
One of my fave songs ever...performed perfectly by Mr. S....
Can't get much better...
What do you think of the duet he performed with Linda Ronstadt, if you have heard it ?
Frank' was part of my chilchood..50's

love the note glide near the end of this masterpiece
Yes GT, it's ever so beautiful. As much as I'm a huge fan of Mr. S, if you want to hear some super, "velvet" smooth --- sliding of notes, check out Mel Torme singing this song. The one with him and the late, great Stan Keaton on piano. Mel sings this tune so beautifully, but don't overlook the stellar accompaniment on piano by Stan. It's spot on awesome. Enjoy!
