Frank Sinatra - I Thought About You Lyrics

I took a trip on a train
And I thought about you
I passed a shadowy lane
And I thought about you

Two or three cars parked under the stars
Winding stream
Moon shining down on some little town
And with each beam, the same old dream

And every stop that we made
Oh, I thought about you
And when I pulled down the shade
Then I really felt blue

I peeped through the crack
Looked at the track
The one going back to you
And what did I do? I thought about you

There were two or three cars parked under the stars
Winding stream
Moon shining down on some little town
And with each beam, the same old dream

And then I peeped through the crack
And I looked at the track
The one going back to you
And what did I do? I thought about you

Frank Sinatra I Thought About You Comments

The older I get, the more I realize musical styles don't matter - just craft and delivery. And Frank Sinatra was among the best, along with Linda Ronstadt. I have a feeling they had great mutual respect. Folks with chops always recognize one another.

Sinatra does a superb job with Mercer; Ronstadt did a superb job with Nelson Riddle. I'd love to have seen her try Mercer.

  2. T.... ....

    Smooth.

Who's here from "a spot of bother"? Mark Haddon

  4. N.... H....

Great song. Sure sounds like a Johnny Mercer song. Jimmy Van Heusen wrote the music and Sinatra nails it.

  5. J.... F....

My Mother's favorite song. She used to sing at small clubs. Marge Fox.

The only reason I love the song I thought about you is because now that the album songs for Swingin' lovers! has been removed from iTunes it's because nobody "I guess" didn't like the digital mastering of the album so people complained saying that "I don't like this album because it had too much digital effects of the album of each song." Something like that. IDK. That's what I would asume. So iTunes removed it and replaced it again with the same name of the album and just placed it with the original master recording which actually makes it much cleaner of the songs in the album...because like I said people didn't like the digital recording of it because it was too much digital mastering of the album it self. So I guess now I kinda miss the album with the digital mastering in it. It was so remarkable because I really enjoyed it so much because it sounded really old like a real 1956 album with digital tracks in it and now that digital mastering album is gone for good. iTunes remixed it and replaced those digital tracks into original master tracks which actually sounds kind of not good at all.

Such great memories as I recall the crazy days of youth when my kindred spirit and I discovered 'Ol Blue Eyes long before he had made a comeback and become popular again. Many nights wandering the streets at night belting out Sinatra's classic tunes.

He'd agree. He idolized her. On her deathbed he visited her in the hospital and told her he owed everything to her. When she died he shut himself in and listened to her records for days.

  28. D.... ....

The genius of Sinatra really shines through in his rendition of the Johnny Mercer classic.
