Frank Sinatra - I See Your Face Before Me Lyrics

In a world of glitter and glow
In a world of tinsel and show
The unreal from the real thing is hard to know
I discovered somebody who
Could be truly worthy and true
Yes, I met my ideal thing when I met you

I see your face before me
Crowding my every dream
There is your face before me
You are my only theme

It doesn't matter where you are
I can see how fair you are
I close my eyes and there you are
Always

If you could share the magic
Yes, if you could see me too
There would be nothing tragic
In all my dreams of you

Would that my love could haunt you so
Knowing I want you so
I can't erase your beautiful face before me

People call me a freak because I'm a 14 year old listening to "old people music" I honestly feel bad those people who can't see this man's beauty and his talent

I am glad you choose to broaden your musical pallet at such a young age. Those calling you a freak because of your musical tastes have not achieved the proper maturity level which is sad. I didn't begin to round out my catalogue until my mid to late 20s and I chose to do so with jazz artists such Miles Davis and John Coltrane. I highly recommend them. There's a wealth of talent out there, keep on seeking it.

This is much better than what is played today.

Thats not fair. Im sure youre a freak for plenty other reasons. Listening to Sinatra shouldnt be one of them.

Faith Young. There’s nothing wrong with you. I’m now 59. This album was made five years before I was born. It’s timeless. Keep enjoying.

The absolute apex of the Sinatra, Riddle collaboration. Perhaps the last moment that Frank was able to hit those lush low notes.

    Terrific

sinatra's singing and the arrangement get to the sentiment behind the fairly weak words. A triumph of inner reading--which was his greatest gift

    E.... S....

I wouldn't call these lyrics weak. Compared to the best, they're pathetic, but compared to the worst, they're masterly, so I'd call them fairly good for a '50s crooner song. And you grant that there is sentiment present within them. Come on.

    E.... S....

Agree. They're throwaway lyrics. And Sinatra and Riddle make it art.

    So perfectly made for dancing...
