Frank Sinatra - I Can't Believe I'm Losing You Lyrics

Is this the way our romance ends,
I got the message when you said we could be friends,
My love was true, I can't believe I'm losing you.
We played a game, of give and take,
But I stopped playing when my heart began to break,
What can I do, I can't believe I'm losing you.
Wish I could erase every little phase of love that's in the heart of me,
Every little dream, every little theme, will always be a part of me.
There's nothing left for me to do,
We've passed the point of no return, and now we're through,
It's still too new, I can't believe I'm losing you.
It's still too new, I can't believe I'm losing you.

I can't help but think that Frank was thinking about Ava Gardner when he recorded this very, very sad song. He never got over losing her.

  4. s.... ....

Im gonna smoke and drink whiskey and sleep for some while. So sad and depressing, a true ride that will never be replicated.

You have to actually live it in order to understand this. The point of no return is real. Beautiful voice and Mr Sinatra pours his heart out with his feelings. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this great selection of songs that were right down Sinatra's line as the best balladeer to ever come along!  These kinds of songs were his forte -- the kind of song he sang with such emotion and feeling that comes through living, loving and losing.  We've all been there!

    Wonderful 🌺

  15. N.... B....

This is such a great version of this beautiful torch song. Jack Jones sang it clear &very nice. F.S. has got that crooner's soul that the contender's never had.

John Murphy I love these songs by Frank Sinatra. He is the best male singer ever.

    J.... M....

    John Murphy indeed he is

  22. G.... A....

    One of his best songs.........

    G.... A....

    and one of his saddest.

  23. S.... M....

this is to Brandon. idc if you don't know who I am, just know, you left me broken. please, look both ways when you cross my mind.

  24. K.... K....

OMG !! Frank just tore the guts out of my heart. He was actually singing my pain and wrenching it out with every word of this song !

  25. i.... ....

Not to be a hater, but this really makes me feel sick whenever I listen to this. Not sick because this is a horrible song, heavens no! It's more of an emotional feel in the depths of my foolish, dusty heart of mine. Each chorus and chime makes it beat with sympathy and depression. I do like its rhythm and vocals from the great man Himself, yet he keeps triggering a switch deep inside of my brain whenever I listen to his masterpiece. This guy sings from the heart, not from the mouth itself.

    i.... ....

Sinatra, no doubt, felt the anguish of this song in his own life particularly when he lost Ava Gardner. The song does have a great emotional effect on the listener. "I'm a Fool to Want You" has a similar effect, Jose. Here is a link to my upload.

It is one of the saddest ballads recorded by Frank, but it is a wonderful performance.

  28. A.... P....

I just wish I could of witness this man on stage,  unleash his heart and soul from the very depths of his lungs... what an artist, and how fortunate are those who did get to see excellence in the making.

  29. J.... D....

    So very true Mz Bennett

  30. J.... R....

after the love of my life passed on…i melt down while listening to this one

    J.... R....

    I'm sorry

  31. E.... B....

Classic Sinatra. Brings me to tears. No other voice compares. None.

    E.... B....

Exactly.... but he himself (in an interview) admitted that he believed he should have won the Oscar for "Golden Arm" rather than "Eternity." He was awesome in both.

    E.... B....

    @Eileen Bennett
For someone who never studied acting, he was an amazing natural.

    E.... B....

I know. I often look back in awe at the many talents this man had. Wowsa.

    E.... B....

    @Eileen Bennett
It's hard to believe that he has already been gone for 18 years. Not a day goes by that I don't listen to his music.

    E.... B....

Me too. Bob Dylan just released  an album featuring "sinatra songs." apparently frank was his idol too.. :)

It is a wonderful ballad superbly sung by Frank Sinatra, arranged by Don Costa, and conducted by Nelson Riddle - a fitting tribute to all 3.

  38. R.... t....

UNA DE LAS MEJORES VOCES QUE ESCUCHÉ... Y ESTA CANCIÓN NO ES MUY CONOCIDA, AUNQUE ES PRECIOSA Y ROMÁNTICA...
