Frank, Jackson C. - The Visit Lyrics
When I said that you were beautiful, I said it there and then
I laid aside all resistance, forgot to say amen
And when you raised your hands to me, a glow therein I saw
A baby of the morning, a sleeping nature's law
And it begins to seem like summer's almost gone
I determined that I loved you; you determined I am 'he'
Determined both together, we meet our company
And the feathers of the wild dove floating to the ground
Gliding through the branches, spinning slowly round
As we wait in the mountains for the song
That revives what's been between us all along
In Cannes there was absurdity
In Monaco there were casinos,
In Asia there was war
And the pipers were American
The peaches fresh with cream
People with vibrations
Just wild robots by some stream
And now they grasp imaginary straws
And shuffle through the sea with bright new claws
If what we know can save us, then it's time to make the try
Every time they try to make us servants of some lie
The children born of bodies in bald-with-pattern scheme
It's a funny, a funny world you live in, till you learn that it's a dream
Sea serpents are rockage made of clay, explaining how we were yesterday
Still I said that you were beautiful, I said it there and then
I laid aside resistance; forgot to say amen
And when you raised your hands to me, a glow therein I see
The childhood of that beauty which belongs to you and me
And I realize that summer is never gone
Like the wind that blow the leaves out on the lawn
Out on the lawn, out on the lawn, on the lawn

Sea serpents on a rocket made of clay,
Explaining how we were yesterday.
How the man was overlooked in life I don't know, how the man will survive in eternity I can't deny
Theres no words to describe All the poetry and sensitivity of this gentleman...And after reading his story, I shed tears... He is a hero god have him in his glory...And thanks to joker's film, when I heard of his biggest hits, my name is carnival, I was stunned....There is no doubt that Paul Simon knew how to recognize the talent in this forgotten minstrel by the adversities of this life....greetings from Monterrey México...
He doesn't have many songs as dramatic & sentimentally beautiful as this one. It's a long one too.
Hey, I'm still alive unlike Townes, Jackson, and the long list. I been around since then and Ive got amazing songs that should live. I don't care about fame ' I'm ok anonymous bur why after 10 years do I only have 1 visit on my YouTube channel. ? Thanks for putting up Frank
I would really like to hear them! but i don't see any song uploaded in your youtube channel
Every time they try to make us
Servants of some lie.
Beautiful strumming.
I honestly love this song, it is so beautiful and just evokes something in me that in can't explain, and that combined with Jacksons incredibility tragic backstory it just makes me so sad. *I made a music video for blues run the game, available on my channel, if anyone's interested and would like to check it out! I'd appreciate it so much!*
Please share the link I'll thank you for not finding it
And the same thing happens to me for this song all day long and seduces me and envelops me in a sublime nostalgia... Soon I'll do the cover and upload it if god allows.
All of you who love Jackson should order a book on him written by Jim Abbott, I believe, who was with him for the last 8-10 years of his life. It's a really informative book and I'm glad I read it. It's called "Jackson C Frank: the cold, hard light of genius" or something to that effect. Strikes deep and resonates with his music if your imagination has a good vantage point. ..Love
zakk davis Jim is a close friend of mine now, he's an amazing man
beyond words......
The quality of J.C.F is frankly obscene, normally you need a full orchestra to get the kind of raw power and emotion that he gets with just a guitar and vocals . Literally everyone in the world should listen to this.
You're absolutely right... totally agree....This gentleman may be up to the level of Paul Simon or dylan himself who I know even of Donovan....... is beautiful......god rest his soul
too good to believe---
its a funny world you live in untill you learn its just a dream. amazing love this album
Its gorgeous. in my top 5 definitely, firmly.
I think it's "asleep in nature's law"
Brilliant song decades ahead of its time
Such beautiful music always comes from the most troubled minds.
thx you man!
This is one performer I wish I had seen
