Foo Fighters - Lonely As You (Million Dollar Demo) Lyrics
Yeah!
Wake up you're dreaming
I can't stand your screaming
Drowning out these prayers just some words without meaning
Spare all the preaching there's secrets I'm keeping
Keep out of reach I will keep in the deep-end
Hide behind these hands though I still see right through them
Every now and then you're down and out my friend
Down and out again
Down and out again
Down and out again but I'm done for you
Is anyone out there?
What can I do?
Pleasure or pain I can't choose
What can I do?
Lonely as you
Pleasure or pain I can't choose
Blame it on youth all those years I punch through them
Blame it on the past it's the last place I threw them
Blame all the children they're raging and ruin
Blame it on the black and blue
And so in the end
You're down and out my friend
Down and out again
Down and out again
Down and out again but I'm done for you
Is anyone out there?
What can I do?
Lonely as you
Pleasure or pain I can't choose
What can I do?
Lonely as you
Down and out again
Down and out again
Down and out again but I'm done for you
Is anyone out there now?
Is anyone out there now?
Is anyone out there now?
Is anyone out there now?
Is anyone out there now? (One more time for the last time)
One more time for release
One more time for the last time
Everyone wants to believe
One more time for the last time
One more time for relief
One more time for the very last time, everyone wants to believe
Alright
What can I do?
Lonely as you
Pleasure or pain I can't choose
What can I do?
Lonely as you
Down and out again
Down and out again
Down and out again but I'm done with you
Is anyone out there now?

Foo Fighters Lonely As You (Million Dollar Demo) Comments
I really wish they would release this version on Spotify and other streaming services.
Im just waiting for the foo‘s to sort of remake this demo into a real song onto one of their future albums
Anyone else want to go live in the universe where this was the version originally released?
Ryan Seabaugh couldn’t have said it any better
The solo at 4:09 is soooo awesome!
this goes hard
Old Shifty with that solo !!.... Could be Dave..but ...nah.. it could've went a bit longer too... but
Dave wasn't happy with this version??....fucking artists I swear.
Why did they change for this for the album version? This version is amazing!
If they kept this version, I think it could of been one of their #1 hits from the album with All my life and Times like these
Kurt cobain couldn’t do anything as well as grohl. Makes me scratch my head about his status
Gonna be a few heads scratched at your comment.
Kurt made waves....
Dave bought a surfboard and threw a party.
Both great artists in their own right.
@Eric Christian
Damn straight .
At the same time you can't deny Dave is better in basically every way talent wise.
Awesome!!
wow!!! I am speechless
I don't think this is as good as the album version. I personally think this track and album are very good!
This sounds more pissed off, while the album version is more melancholic
I guess I'm alone in thinking the album version is better. I do like this version, though not as much.
This song it's like Nirvana songs... ♡
This sounds like end titles for some shrek or smth
You must have seen a different Shrek than the rest of us lol.
Thanks for the laugh though
Sure, Dave's voice sounds cool, but what you're referring to as "cool" is just an incredible amount of strain on his vocal chords, I mean it's pretty fucking obvious that he's scraping the very lid of his vocal range in this track. If he could barely do it in the studio there's no way he could consistently do it 100 times live. Hence why the album version is different.
Awesome R A T C H E T ! ! ! I always suspected people in bands intentionally put below par performances on record for the ages, in case a live show or two didn't live up to what they had promised.
It's kinda cool that this recording exists though - otherwise it's be proper hard to gauge a singer's vocal range when they were trying.
R A T C H E T I do hear, and feel what your saying. It seems though that Davids' going to give it every single thing he has and then 100 more.
Do i wish there was something to ease the strain, of course
That must be why their more recent stuff is easier to sing
@SnookerWither Not necessarily. Two words: White Limo.
@Collin Parsons That's a good point
This version over the album version all day
This version is amazing!!!
Song just isnt the same without the big finish
The album version is just terrible, this on the other hand is so fucking good
They were probably afraid this sounded too much like nu metal and the Offspring or something
nothing wrong with the first couple of offspring albums.
Ignition kicks fucking ass. You wanna know what they changed it? You can hear Dave straining his voice here, and if he could barely do it in the studio then there's no way he could do it live a thousands times, ya feel?
@R A T C H E T Word; love Ignition.
I'll Stick Around, Alone+Easy Target, This is a Call, Monkey Wrench, New Way Home, My Poor Brain, etc. El pobre hombre se hubiera desgarrado la garganta terriblemente.
@Fernando Callo Corrección: entre The Colour & The Shape y One By One está There is Nothing Left to Lose.
Anyone got tabs?
Try using chordify it will find the chords and you can figure it out from there
this is like Smashing Pumpkins Disarm live version, in a sense that both this and the live version of Disarm both have a "pissed off" feel, so awesome.
That beginning scream pretty much sums up how Dave felt about the album at that point...
This version is very powerfull...alothough I still like how it turned out in the album better
5:03 that bend!
yea how do you do that?
Whammy bar
oh my fuck. this is so grungy and raw and less depressing than the other one lol
This puts the album version to shame. Amazing.
Ever hear the demo of DOA? It's off "5 of Ours, 1 of Theirs." Came out a bit after In Your Honor. Sometimes I think perchance the demo does hold a higher ground. Just some thing about it, I wont...
this is better than the 2002 cd
This is gold dude!!!
Do you have more?
Thanx for sharing.
