Foghat - Paradise Alley Lyrics
Remember me, you were a friend of mine,
Restless and young, I'm the one you made love to for the first time.
Now look at you, what you been up to, since I saw you last?
Your hair's a mess, you're half-dressed, you're loaded and you're fadin' fast.
You took to the city, what a shame, they're all shattered, now your heart's in pain.
Makin love for a livin', you've given up, all you've got's a heart of stone.
Makin' the most of a sad situation, Paradise Alley's your home.
Paradise Alley, what a way to be alone,
Paradise Alley, a thousand miles away from home, yeah.
Lookin' back, I still recall the time,
I wonder how in the world was it so easy to be so unkind.
Will you be sorry when you realize the story has to end this way?
You wait in vain, and your heart's in pain,
And dreams are all you have to hold on to.
You're losin' touch and it hurts so much,
To think of all the love I had for you.
Paradise Alley, what a way to be alone,
Paradise Alley, a thousand miles away from home, yeah.
[Rod - Slide Solo]
Paradise Alley, what a way to be alone.
Paradise Alley, a thousand miles away from home.
Paradise Alley, what a place to call your home,
Paradise Alley, what a way to be alone, yeah.
[Rod - Solo to fade]

this is a good song it takes me back in time the 70s were did they go
no shit time flies
I beg to differ...I love every second of this album....the slide playing on this track is gut wrenching...why so critical?....
I think its a great album. I like every song on it. Nervous Release is the only Foghat song I know of with a drum solo.
The Album title is Boogie Motel....But Sadly The Hotel Didn't Boogie enough....Must have been built at the Bottom end of Paradise Alley. The Guys redeemed themselves With Stone Blue.....Sure Helped Me Thru. x
Love the A Side of "Boogie Motel", the B Side not so much. And "Stone Blue" is still their finest album start to finish in my opinion. I saw Foghat with Blue Oyster Cult and BTO last summer at the Ohio State Fair. Great Show! Even if Foghat and BOC have greatly different personnel than in the 70s incarnation of the bands.

I bought this when it came out...I almost returned it because it sucked so bad, but this song is the reason I kept it....
@montbob100 The whole album? Is there any other song on there I should give a second chance to?
+Lola Flores I am a huge fan and this is a flat and boring album
