Flogging Molly - Factory Girls Lyrics
Build a bridge or maybe two
Together held with footsteps she outgew
But now she sits alone, everyone's long gone
She dances in a photograph
When it was good to joke and have a laugh
Now the walls are crawling faces that still breathe
But before she nods her head what's left but sleep
She hears a chorus of factory girls
Singin' in the streets
Drinkin' their coca-colas
After washing your filthy sheets
Chasin down the avaenue
After a childhood that she never knew
Cigarettes just kill the time
Now the walls are crawling faces
That still breathe
But before she nods her head what's left but sleep
She hears a chrous of factory girls
Singin's aoin and all
Empty are their pockets
But their voices are filled with song
Come day go day
Wish in my hearty it was Sunday
Drinking buttermilk all the week
And whiskey on a Sunday
Come day go day
Wish in my hearty it was Sunday
Drinking buttermilk all the week
And whiskey on a Sunday
Now the walls are crawling faces that still breathe
But before she nods her head whats's left but sleep
She hears a chorus of factory girls
Singin' in the streets
Drinkin' their coca-colas
After washing your filthy sheets
She hears a chrous of factory girls
Singin's aoin and all
Empty are their pockets
But their voices are filled with song
Stayed Richard and his court of Kings
He stole my heart and many other things
But me I took his crown
Wish he was here to steal it now

Always thinking of me and my friends leaving work. <3 my factory girls! Always putting the fun in dysfunction and the piss in vinegar!
Anyone have bass tabs for this?
That woman's voice is terrific.
That would be Lucinda Williams. She is a great artist.
My God, that sounds like a drunken Sheryl Crow. Not a LW fan.
what the fuck is a sherly crow?
Hate List by Jennifer Brown brought me here :D
I find it interesting that Irsih music, especially the types of Flogging Molly , highly resembles modern-ish traditional country music. 3/4 time and the chord progression is almost identical. It's very interesting.
Except this is in 4/4. And chord progressions vary wildly. And Flogging Molly can't be said to be just Irish.
Irish immigrants created bluegrass, and by extension, country music. So yeah
Irish created country.
So is 1980s punk go figure
This isnt a waltz. But yer right.
i hear my lucinda in there lol . I love em!
Can anyone tell me what the lyric "Singin's aoin and all" is supposed to mean, or if it's even correct? I can't find anything to explain it. Lyric sites all have the same cut-and-pasted lyrics - complete with the same typos - so no help there.
Having asked an Irish friend of mine, evidently the lyric is correct - aoin means "one" in that context. So they're singing one and all.
singing to one and all...just a saying.
Favorite song. Of all of them.
This is a great song but my favorite is tobacco island because it is good and the meaning behind it kinda gets me. It paints the tale of some of the hardship that made Ireland what it is today.
fucking brilliant writing~~one of the best bands i've ever seen live~~
Indeed. They are a treat live.
Hate List :3
Omg YES! I read the book and just NEEDED to check this song out haha
Does anyone know where I can get sheet music for the tin whistle part of this song?
Cark7428 a lot of musicians put up sheet music on Google just use key words and hit images ☺ usually works.

Awesome song! Greetings from Serbia!

Then apologize for a Serbian movie. Ugggh.
usually FM songs make my blood boil and cause my fist to suddenly go upward, but this one makes my foot tap and my head shake. All signs of great music
That's the mark of a great band. They're versatile. They can do multiple things musically.
i love irish rock, and some celtic musics... i'm waiting for more, please!
yea, she sang on speed of darkness, she sings on a prayer for me in silence, but yea Lucinda Williams sings on this one.
Maybe Dora is more your style?

And maybe you should listen in school, maybe you would learn to capitalize.
