I was a snot nose american kid in 75 in England. She was playing outdoor at Trafalgar square. Could not see her because of the crowd but could hear her just fine. Had no clue who she was back then. lol I remember thinking to myself; her hat must be filled with coins.

I love this version of the song. It's the best. It's hauntingly beautiful.

I fell in love with her voice the moment I heard it for the very first time on her debut album. Her voice is pure and her phrasing is elegantly simple. Her rendition of Carol King's, "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," is by far the greatest ever. Miss Flack is my favorite female singer of all time.
If there is such a place as heaven, and it's filled with angels that sing, they would sound like Miss Roberta Flack!

this is more than a great cover ... it's an exquisite interpretation ... tender, intimate and soulful ... Roberta takes this song to another level altogether, makes us hear it as if for the first time ... just beautiful ... ♥♥♥

Where is the fast-tempo version? This is the slow version.

The Shirelles, sing the more famous fast version. However this came out later, to me this slower version really conveys the feelings of this powerful song. By far my favorite version is this one, the best one of all time. Sad yet so beautiful.
