The cleans don't fucking fit. They sound forced in there. Few bands can incorporate cleans into death metal properly. Opeth, Cattle Decapitation, and a few others can do it poerfectly

Gonna make a bold statement given that this album isn't out yet but unless Make Them Suffer releases an album this year, this or The Valley by Whitechapel will be the best Deathcore releases of 2019

@Dylan Gauthier I think they have chances to be the best albums of the year overall. In my opinion, Whitechapel has the best metal album of the year so far anyway; Periphery and Shadow of Intent were great but not on the same level, Carnifex was good but not super innovative for them, TAIM was extremely underwhelming for me, Baroness was mediocre and had abysmal production, and Opeth has done nothing at all for me on the first few listens. So far, Whitechapel has by far outclassed everyone else imo, and both of the new FFAA singles have been just as good as The Valley singles, if not better than most (aside from maybe WADDAW, that song is it’s own fucking entity). Although there’s still a lot of good stuff coming out; Leprous could very well put out a banger, although their newest single was possibly my least favorite song by them, and Rings of Saturn could have a chance if Joel and Lucas can put together something as great as Lugal Ki En again (I highly doubt it tho). But as long as Gojira or Mastodon don’t manage to get their albums out by the end of the year, I could definitely imagine FFAA and Whitechapel being the best two metal releases in general

@Matt Jones Currently Periphery IV is my personal favorite release in general, I'm not huge into deathcore but I really liked FFAA's last album, so I figured why not check out the new songs. Yeah, this album, and The Valley are by far the 2 most interesting releases when it comes to deathcore. I really don't care for TAIM and Carnifex kinda lost me after 7 or 8 spins of Slow Death (2017)
