Firefall - Strange Way Lyrics

Didn't I hear you cry this morning, didn't I feel you weep?
Teardrops flowin' down on me, like rivers in my sleep.
And in my dream of laughter, you came creepin' with your fears.
Telling me your sorrows, in the tracings of your tears.

That's a strange way to tell me you love me
When your sorrow is all I can see
If you just want to cry to somebody, don't cry to me, no
Don't cry to me, no

Didn't I hear your voice this morning, didn't you call my name?
I heard you whisper softly, but the words were never plain.
And in your dream of darkness, I came shinin' like the sun.
Waiting for the laughter, but the laughter never comes.

That's a strange way to tell me you love me
When your sorrow is all I can see
If you just want to cry to somebody, don't cry to me, no
Don't cry to me, no

Didn't you feel alone this morning, didn't you need a friend?
And in your darkest hour, you came runnin' back again

That's a strange way to tell me you love me
That's a strange way to tell me you love me
That's a strange way to tell me you love me

Would listen to this song all the time in my bedroom in the autumn of 1978 on the radio. It’s strange how fast time moves on and yet sometimes, I’m stuck in my childhood memories of attending parochial school in Beavercreek, Ohio when I hear this song; wow how fast months, years, decades go by. I was so naive and innocent back then. Fast forward to December 2019 and I still recall the cold autumn days and the innocence of youth.

The amazing talent of so many of the musicians back then, combined with the greatly talented music arrangers resulted in a lot of great and timeless music!
Too bad today's music industry is merely a ghost of what it once was, if that.

  67. C.... ....

How different would the world be if we could all back to the 70's realizing how good we had it?

  68. R.... T....

I was 8 years old when this came out. Spending time with my brother listening to this on a small transistor radio. If only we can all go back to these days life would be perfect!

  69. B.... V....

While the entire song doesn't fit some of the lines certainly do.
"And in your dream of darkness, I came shining like a sun"You said you were in a bad place when we met and that being with me saved you.
"In my dream of laughter, you came creeping with your fears"We were so perfect together but depression scared you
"Didn't you feel alone this morning, didn't you need a friend"We are still friends because we share depression and what it does to us
"That's a strange way to tell me you love me"You said I saved you. Then why did you have to leave?

  70. d.... l....
