Fallujah - Sapphire Lyrics

I've wanted this all along
A concrete beating heart
A landscape I can bleed up-on
This dark city my breeding ground

Nails within the darkened sand
Artificial light ascends
Clarity of vision breaks
The shackling of days ahead
Taken from the solace of home
Veins reclaimed by hardened stone

Take me from my solace
This dark city's mine again

I've wanted this all along
This dark city [2x]
My breeding ground

The streets are whispering

The hope is in my veins
Clawing and deprived
A hopeful heart will waste
Every moment of precious time

Helpless as I watch my dreams divide

I've wanted this all along
A concrete beating heart
A landscape I can bleed upon
This dark city my breeding ground

Artificial light ascends
The path of which my heart accepts

  21. E.... R....

  25. K.... J....

thank you Marie this is my new favorite song 💞💞

  26. U.... D....

fallujah is just really good at writing outros I think. for some reason it makes me feel at rest

  27. T.... J....

i think it's bad when the YouTube red commercial comes on and the volume is completely down and you still here it in your head perfectly...

    T.... J....

    adblocker my friend

    T.... J....

+Alice Nope free on an Android? I've looked around and can't find one. do you have a specific app in mind?

  28. s.... m....

wtf, I just heard this for the 1st time last week.. Epic! great sound, perfect name

  29. w.... y....

if u think clean vocals would be better it would no longer be metal song is perfect

  30. c.... ....

    That outro tho.

  31. E.... B....

very very High level. ..metalists of heaven....

  32. E.... B....

lady & gentelmens,i present to you,the new gods of expérience death metal.....hideous....@@@?

  33. E.... M....

Maybe this song could off used better vocals to cover that nice melody

  34. S.... B....

Tbh, two years after this song has been released, is now Fallujah's masterpiece, and will age very well... :)

  35. R.... H....

Not sure about the Jens Kidman-esque cookie monster vocals. Seems a shame not to have soaring vocal melodies to go with the beautiful instrumentation. Am I getting old? I used to be a massive Sepultura and Meshuggah fan in my teens. Now I'm in my 20s, I'd rather hear something tuneful. I guess Skyharbor is more my thing.

    R.... H....

    Thanks a lot appreciate it

    R.... H....

Tesseract and Skyharbor are amazing but your journey will reach it's pinnacle with the Devin Townsend Project. I recommend starting with his Addicted album and explore from there. No one can touch him (IMO). If you want something heavier, he had a previous group called Strapping Young Lad.

    R.... H....

Yeah, I've heard of Devin quite a bit but never got round to checking out his stuff. What's it like vocally?

    R.... H....

The best screams in modern metal and the best clean vocals in metal period. Literally his voice is virtually untouchable.

Go to devin song for brutal vocals = All Hail the New Flesh
Go to for clean vocals = Deadhead

    R.... H....

i think shitstorm's was better than AHTNF

  36. J.... ....

the last riff gives me goose bumps...

  37. A.... ....

Still their best song (IMO) even after the release of Dreamless.

    A.... ....

Mmmh, I don't know, The Void Alone is so good! But yeah, Sapphire is clearly a masterpiece.

    A.... ....

Cerebral Hybridization and Assemblage of Wolves tho

    A.... ....

    Venom Upon the Blade

    A.... ....

This outro will forever send wave after wave of chills down my spine and while I rest my head back and bask in the ecstasy though

  38. D.... M....

    nice band

  39. P.... A....

I can't stop fucking listening to this track. It's simply perfect.

  40. L.... B....

I'm not much of a fan of this band, but listened to this song for the first time and all I have to say is that this song can be best described as "brutiful".

  41. t.... ....

The dude who tried to cover this song doesn't get only Andrew Baird really knows how to play it. lol

    t.... ....

yeah he brings energy behind it

    t.... ....

Andrew is an absolute animal. By far the most underrated tech drummer to me. He knows way more than just going as fast as possible, unlike a lot of the dudes in tech death.

  42. T.... ....

This is like Cynic if they didn't act like children and took an intergalactic psilocybin trip.

  43. M.... A....

This makes my ears orgasm........one of my favorite songs EVER. \m/

  44. N.... ....

Ne Obliviscaris is a band you'll enjoy if you like this. Harmonious yet heavy.

  45. w.... ....

Whoever mixed and mastered this needs to be shot. And the Stabbed. And then suffocated. And then burned.

    w.... ....

tell us how you really feel, elaborate your hate 😀

    w.... ....

    Vocals not loud enough!!!

    w.... ....

+Daniel K The vocals are perfect. It seems like a lot of people don't appreciate shoegaze.

    w.... ....

+wArGa5m1 Thankfully the vinyl master is much less compressed (DR10), than this CD master (DR3!).

    w.... ....

+wArGa5m1 Seems a lot of people don't work in a studio much.

  46. D.... ....

    Pandora gold right here!

  47. I.... K....

Holy sh*t! The Harvest Wombs was amazing, Nomadic awesome, but this one... The Flesh Prevails is just perfection. I know the production could be better, but musically speaking I think that it's a f*cking masterpiece in all senses.

  48. R.... H....

Yep, I still jam the fuck out of this song... and the the whole album. I was watching a recent interview with Scott Carstairs, and he mentioned that their music is trying to bring out the vibes like Deftones. I was curious while they were in production of The Flesh Prevails, they were going to try Chino on their album. If the such thing had happened, it would be the most amazing song for my ears. The vibes, it's probably why I listen to them both every single day. It's a necessity for me, like brushing my teeth, life will get worse if I miss a day.

  49. H.... R....

    mmm tasty

  50. P.... A....

I don't even know what to say. I wanna leave a comment, but I have no words to describe this music. Maybe sublime? Stellar? Overwhelmingly, intimidatingly stupifying? I leave it to whoever reads this.

    P.... A....

+Diwana Wilson They like to refer to their style as Atmospheric Metal.

    P.... A....

    +Ryan Taylor fuck yeah

    P.... A....

    +Ryan Taylor ye

    P.... A....

+Diwana Wilson Technically, it's Progressive Technical Death Metal. There's no Deathcore, nor black influence in their music.

    P.... A....

Diwana Wilson Lmfao deathcore with black influence?? Fallujah is neither of those..

  51. g.... l....

    Orgasm to the ear

  52. M.... S....

One year later and this is still my favorite song of all time. One year later and i have yet to find any album on par with this one.

    M.... S....

+Dawit Moges no way man this shits all over Aegaeon lol

    M.... S....

Im not debating it man, i think its a fact

    M.... S....

Try the album Citadel by Ne Obliviscaris

    M.... S....

U sure man? Their name already sounds like i wont be too amazed

    M.... S....

@Anomaly 528 Two years late, but you don't know how wrong you are

  53. G.... ....

perfect song. people moaning about the mix and double bass are just freaky.

  54. D.... G....

    Where are they come from?

    D.... G....

    +Daniel Gomez San Francisco.

    D.... G....

    +Daniel Gomez iraq

    D.... G....

iAmGio ™ he needed to hear this lol

  55. O.... H....

This is beyond awesome. Does someone know other bands/albums like this?

    O.... H....

Not exactly like this, but Tesseract has some of the same ideas.

    O.... H....

+Torque Bow I guess you already know Ne Obliviscaris, but in case you don't, you MUST listen to them, they're like the most talented melodic brutal band ever! You just need to listen to Forget Not or Upon The Tongue Of Eloquence to love them

    O.... H....

+Oscar Dean My second favourite band, but more deathcore and a bit less complex, with the same feel to it is Kardashev. They are still not widely known but make incredible music. Try their song IOTA. You may not like it but you may also fall in love with their music like I have. There's also an even more obscure project called Cerebral Harvest that you might like. Or check out some Aegaeon to get a more direct deathcore take on these vibes.

    O.... H....

    Black Crown Initiate
Check the track A Great Mistake. Baam you found the next band to be obsessed with ;)

  56. B.... V....

    Amazing ♫

  57. D.... H....

    Co on tam bełgocze ?

  58. O.... ....

Like seriously... They CONSCIOUSLY chose to mix it badly

  59. O.... ....

Wow I wish the cd was mixed this way... Cd mixing is soooo terrible... Literally sounds like noise

  60. T.... ....

Try to find "Fallulah" accidentally write "Fallujah". I'm not even mad!

    T.... ....

+berci catalina The same thing happened to me, but the other way. I was looking for some Fallujah on Spotify and ended up listening to Fallulah, and quite frankly, I enjoyed it very much.

    T.... ....

+berci catalina It's hard to be mad after listening to this. The music just beautiful really.

    T.... ....

Literally just did the opposite lol.

    T.... ....

+Allicea Now I need to go look Fallulah up.

    T.... ....

Thanks, now i have another band to look up. :) music makes me happy

  61. J.... ....

This band has to be a frontrunner for metal, there's no reason any other band should be outshining Fallujah right now...

  62. D.... ....

This song still gives me chills!

  63. P.... N....

Hum...I'm on my ass ! This is stunning !!!! Big sound...but fuck...this is emotional too

  64. Y.... ....

This is officially by far the most enjoyable and pleasant death metal album I've ever heard.

  65. J.... D....

    hail satan

  66. R.... t....

This music would be so much better without the absolutely unnecessary double bass. It seems like instead of playing in time he's just trying to show off how fast his feet are. Everything else is fine. I'm seeing them live tomorrow with The Contortionist, so maybe they'll leave an impression.

    R.... t....

    @Alkalilee Sit down HO

Wicked double-bass blends absolutely in all writing

    R.... t....

@D00MEDST No it doesn't. Blend wicked double bass for me in Transatlantic's music. Then come back. Thanks.

    R.... t....

@Alkalilee I think a lot of the reason the drummer is slammin so much is to keep the pace of the song up, like the energy. I understand it can be a bit much sometimes, but they try to blend heavy and melodic in a new way I think. Also jealous you got to see em lol

    R.... t....

The reason he was doing the double bass so fast is to keep it intense and really let his aggression show. Since you've seem them live now you should have noticed how into the music he gets. Only reason I know this is that I actually know him personally. They're all pretty cool dudes

    R.... t....

@Alkalilee It's worse in the first album lol Really

  67. T.... F....

    Perfection. Fucking perfection.

  68. M.... ....

Absolutely love the atmosphere in this album! This is amazing.

  69. A.... ....

im not saying this is bad, it is just not metal, also its kind of boring

  70. U.... D....

Thank You Fallujah for providing the soundtrack to the second half of my 2014.

  71. T.... M....

I don't know if it's just me, but the production of this album unfortunately ruined it for me. I still absolutely love Fallujah though.

  72. M.... l....

Album (FALLUJAH The Flesh Prevails) in my collection, vid in my favs. Thanx.

  73. J.... W....

Guys go listen to their first album and you won't complain about the production on this one anymore ;)

  74. b.... c....

Can someone please share any bands that sound similar to Fallujah? With the same "atmospheric" or "technical" or whatever sound.

    b.... c....

You could check out "Scryers Of The Ibis" from Ovid's Withering. It's a bit "darker" when it comes to the mood of the songs but it's really awesome! And if you're into more "Djenty" stuff, check out "Travelers" from Modern Day Babylon as well.

  75. -.... ....

The album is amazing but needs a serious re-issue because the production sucks.

  76. M.... ....

2:34 That part is too damn awesome

  77. M.... W....

This album is on another level. its fucking divine.

  78. D.... ....

4:12 to end of song is amazing

  79. A.... P....

i love this kind of death metal, so symphonic, so european, i need more band like this !

  80. B.... D....

It would probably take me a while to get into this particular band, but they definitely have heaps of talent. This is technical as hell and should definitely earn the respect of people who know how difficult it is.
I think I'll just stick with Beyond Creation for the moment.

  81. S.... G....

    BRUTALÍSIMO.

  82. L.... H....

this song is just : PERFECT!

  83. D.... S....

I like all the slides at the end hella tight

  84. I.... ....

I can't even. I can't even handle it. I thought 'The Harvest Wombs' was 2011's best metal debut, and this is gorgeous. All the best things at once--- musicianship, atmosphere, speed....... <3 <3

  85. D.... H....

its ok but the blast beats for the whole song over the melodic sweeps are killing my ears. It feels like they didnt know what they wanted in this song.

  86. G.... P....

I wish the lead guitar was more prominent during the solo(s) other than that, amazing song.

  87. v.... h....

es como el sound track de un viaje interdimensional    es hermoso como dominan la brutalidad y la admosfera

  88. X.... ....

    This blew me away

  89. n.... g....

    *shedds many tears*

  90. B.... B....

I love these guys. They stand out. Atmospheric. Beautiful but still very heavy.

  91. F.... ....

the art work is totally amazing

  92. N.... A....

The song itself is good, but the production sucks, and it sometimes feels like a regular death metal song with a synth over it, altough it's pretty good at it. anyways; Scar Symmetry, The Faceless, Opeth, Cynic, Death and Edge of Sanity still remained unpararelled in the Death Metal genre.

  93. J.... T....

I love the mixing. Very atypical of the genre which sets them out, dreamier. I dig it.

  94. y.... ....

this is pretty dope, but the snare is so weak in the mix that it kinda ruins the song.

  95. C.... ....

It's funny looking at comments of people embarrassed to like a deathcore band... Trying to deny its genre because of it's substance-less, disjointed nature (or lack of nature, just hear those fucking sampled to shit drums and overly compressed everything)

  96. J.... C....

    Amazing

  97. L.... B....

Definitely a case of believe the hype…holy shit
